The F-22 sneaking up beside you like he's your wingman while you are actively scanning for him may be one of the biggest flexes any fighter pilot could ever pull.
It's been done IRL. First to Iranian F-4s over the Persian Gulf (which isn't all that impressive) and to Russian Flanker variants over the Bering Sea (which is).
@@windwalker5765 I believe the F- 4 incident, but the Flanker one not a chance... unless its a very old version with a completely outdated radar. Modernized flankers can easily detect F22 and F35. Probably not able to lock on but they will definitely know its there.
@@Dare2Blink the story I remember is early Raptor days, like 15 years ago. Two Bears and two Flankers, which version I dunno. They were first intercepted by Canadian Hornets, who tried to get to the bombers. Flankers cut them off, and stayed with them as they turned back for Canadian airspace. And then the Raptors flew past their canopies. Probably they'd have been detected if the Hornets weren't providing a distraction, but who says we have to play fair?
I think the F-22 misunderstood the assignment. When you said this fight was "BVR", you meant it was "beyond visual range". But the F-22 thought this meant "Behind, visual range" instead
Like when Showtime flew under the Iranian F4s intercepting the US drone. After he inspected their weapons loadout he popped up next to them and in a thick Texas accent radioed "Y'all need to go home..." scaring the crap out of them.

@OhioPower its air-based radar and electronic warfare. It carries a larger suite of electronic capabilities than most fighters. It's role is to assist with recon and target acquisition
Once talked to a F16 pilot about how he fights 15s. This 22 pilot did exactly the same tactic that 16s have to use against jets with good radar: fly super low and out of sight until you are within striking range. 15s, as he put it, are flying tennis courts. 16s, while not stealth, do have low sigs, and flying low screws with radar quite a bit. But it's risky, because of the altitude advantage.
F16s are also better at lower altitudes that the f16, so the viper would have a slight advantage if the Eagle decided to turn and burn after diving on him.

🤣🤣🤣 Yep that would definitely be a "shyt in your pants" moment with the F-22 popping up in your formation. Epic!! thanks for sharing GS. Love your videos bro 👍
I remember hearing a story about how a very similar situation in real life occurred but of course no shots were fired. Basically, Iranian F4’s were heading to intercept a US drone in international airspace because it was nearing their own airspace. While following the drone the F-22 followed them for a few laps around the airspace(yes, laps). And finally after flying underneath them, and checking out their armaments, the F-22 pilots pulled alongside the phantoms and radioed “you ought to go home”. They never had a chance. Ofc they went home.
That’s actually horrifying knowing the F-22 has capabilities like that. Trying to find something that you know is there but you can’t quite make out exactly where it is.
@@cmdrantezscar3368 Doubtful, since they're even bringing back the F-117 in some training areas. The F-22 will likely only be phased out once NGAD is done, and might still stay for longer in certain roles
ok ........ it has been a miserable day but you got an real honest burst out laughing moment from me. Congrats to the F22 pilot for piloting and sense of humour.
I've actually read that your local airport can pick up an F-22. Like it is not totally invisible to anyone. It's just that picking one up on radar and knowing that something is there is one thing, but actually picking it up, identifying it and especially, hitting it with a weapon is an entirely different matter.
Pretty any low frequency radar can detect any stealth craft, but they aren’t accurate enough to do anything other than tell you that something is there. Can’t get a weapons grade lock off of them. Of course, even then, it’s not saying much. The range for detecting is still pretty short. Shorter than the distance most modern ARMs need to go after a radar.
A lot of times stealth aircraft will essentially boost their radar signature on purpose to help air traffic controllers keep track of their flight path easier. Really just a a safety thing to make sure no flight paths are intersecting
I'd really like to hear the Raptor's pilot's story to this. If and when he turned off radar and how he would still find GS and sneak up on him. Video entertaining as always!

@Xinnie The Pooh it's a real story.
@Xinnie The Pooh Yeah I heard about the same story.
Yes heard the same story.
It is a good story but I mean hiding from an F4 is probably not the hardest thing to achieve

I don't think this was Feisty. I think it was someone else he fought, but it's still very disrespectful.
The MAR has been thoroughly disrespected.
Ahahah well said
I was kinda expecting to see the AWACS catch a packet first.
There's also the fact that F-22s and other stealth planes tend to fly with what's called 'RADAR Reflectors' in civilian airspace.
@@56bturnYeap, why would the F-22 fly full stealth in US airspace? If the F-22 didn’t want to be seen it wouldn’t be detected.
“If your radars pick me up, you’re not the target”
A lot of times stealth aircraft will essentially boost their radar signature on purpose to help air traffic controllers keep track of their flight path easier. Really just a a safety thing to make sure no flight paths are intersecting
I'm crying laughing, this video is so funny.
