It was similar, but not the same (P1-5 vs. P1-2). Also, nobody is taking anything from Thierry... ;) You must consider that Ferrari was starting P7 & P13 and in 1990 Williams had front row lockout (P1 & P2), so the pace in the car was quite different. Anyway, thanks for mentioning this. :)
@@gregchip23 You're absolutely right in everything you just said. I was only pointing that Thierry did the same thing in terms of leading the race with several drivers right behind him during most part of the race and taking the advantage of a great engine on the main straight. Riccardo Patrese tried to do the same thing the year before Thierry in the Hungaroring as well. And Patrese was doing a perfect race for almost 55 laps until his radiator broke believe it or not.

Thierry Boutsen did the same thing at the Hungaroring in 1990. But his name is Thierry Boutsen and not Gilles Villeneuve.
