He was 35 when Buffy started but he wasn't in Buffy until season 2. So he had just turned 36 when he made his debut on Buffy. In season 7 of Buffy he was 41 and in season 5 of Angel he was 42...still playing the role of someone in their mid-twenties. (Well technically Spike was 100 and something years old, but he was sired when he was in his mid-twenties I believe.) I think James is actually a vampire, he barely ages.

I noticed there are Spike/Drusilla comics around season 3 or 4 of Buffy, and I think there is a new release "Spike" on the way, after the end of Angel season 5 (him goin to Las Vegas). In general, I noticed quite a few new releases for 2011 (amazon release announcem.)

I loved the character, and James played him brilliantly, but he seemed to mangle every second word. Especially words that ended with "t" or "d" (a pretty common problem for American actors doing British accents).
