MACLEHOSE TRAIL SECTION 8 HIKE HONG KONG || LEAD MINE PASS TO ROUTE TWISK || HOW TO GET THERE

100km MACLEHOSE TRAIL CHALLENGE !
❣️We love hiking!.. Kev, Ellen and I are too bored with the norms and we found ourselves in this more challenging hike!..
One thing that draws us and looked into 100km MacLehose Trail but figured it would was too long for us to do in one go or to do without our full camping gear that the trail runs east to west across the Kowloon Peninsula!
❣️The trail is officially divided into 10 stages, although not all stages are created equal.
We initially set out to only hike stages 1 and 2 on the 1st day!
❣️While we were doing the hike, we talked about our schedule and decided that it would work for us to take five days, during
day off and hike the whole trail.
Not having a consecutively five days off, we would spend all day hiking and back to home at nights and we managed to piece together the full trail using transit back and forth.
❣️There's a good information on the website about each stages of the trail, which can help figure out how to break the trail into days. We broke it into five days, which works for us as regular hikers. Our split was
✅Stages 1 and 2 on day 1
✅Stages 3 & 4 day 2
✅Stage 56 & 7 dav 3
✅Stages 8 day 4 and
✅Stages 9 & 10 on an easy day
❣️The main challenge is making sure that plan to start and end each day at a point that is transit accessible. While the trail is divided into stages, some of these points can only be accessed by hiking all or part of the prior stage and are not!
Although much of the trail is well marked, there were a number of intersections with minimal signage or signage that pointed to an intermediate point and did not explicitly

How to get there:
🔸Take MTR to Tsuen Wan
Take green minibus No. 82 at Shui Wo Street and get off at the Shing Mun Country Park ( last stop) and follow the woodland track to Lead Mine Pass ( starting point)
Route; Ye Ngam Teng, Sze Fong Shan, Tai Mo Sha Road
🔸How to get home:
Ending point Route Twisk. Take bus no 51 from the near side of the road and get off at the Tsuen Wan West or Tsuen Wan MTR
