In my opinion Hendrix was amazing and revolutionary playing the guitar, but he wasn't as great as Ray Davies as a songwriter. Lennon and McCartney were as good as him.

James is right. The original recording of this song rocks so hard, especially for 1964. It's kind of a rehash of You Really Got Me but I personally like it even more.
