The only reason Johto gets the stigma of being weak is being the only group of pokemon forced of share the spotlight with the overly-shilled Kanto Pokemon. Not helping is Game Freak giving the Kanto staters everything while constantly skipping the Gen 2 starters for some reason Also I don't think pokemon that happen to evolve from Kanto Pokemon should be excluded, evolving from a Kanto pokemon doesn't make it a Kanto Pokémon. Like ofc nobody thinks gen 2 Pokémon are bad in competitive since you have access to all the good Johto Pokémon and moves that you wouldn’t normally have access to in story mode until WAY later (T-tar, legendaries, misdreavus, good TMs, etc). Also you’re not even considering how 85% of gen 2 Pokémon have horrible learnsets where nearly all of them only get good moves at like level 50. When people say gen 2 Pokémon are weak and bad, they mean how most accessible Gen 2 Pokémon don’t have any tools that make them legitimately powerful, atleast unless you grind them or wait to catch Pokémon at the very end of the game. And ofc, that means they are definitely stronger when you only look at them in a competitive light
People absolutely criticize Johto's Pokemon due to comp as well as in story. The idea of Gen 2 Pokémon being abnormally worse in competitive than all others is one of the main reasons Gen 2 Pokémon are hated. As for you're point about their performance in story, You're right that most Gen 2 Pokemon had bad level up movepools but so did most Gen 1 Pokemon stuff. The real problem is your other point about rarity, Game Freak shoved so many Gen 1 pokemon everywhere in Gen 2 that its just easier to use a bunch of Gen 1 pokemon than go out of your way to find Gen 2 Pokemon.
Johtoan and Kantoan sound better than Johtonian and Kantonian, I.M.O. Also, I feel like leaving out things that evolve from Kanto Pokemon is unfair. While they may evolve from Kantoan Pokemon they are their own individual Pokemon. I also feel like Pokemon with pre-evolutions from Johto should also be counted. Adding Blissey, Umbreon, and Jynx to the list of Jothans seriously improves your options, I think. Anyway, good video.

Fair point, but I wanted to restrict myself to only use brand new pokemon from Johto, because people say they are weak and prove them wrong.
