Thor is a great name for your bike. I just got my Svartpilen about a month ago and I absolutely love it. Mine is name Gypsy :). Enjoyed your video. Stay safe and enjoy your bike!

Cheers. The bike belongs to Rob, CampbellZeroOne, check out his channel and give him a sub. Lots of 401 on there. Tell him Codger Biker sent you! 👍👍

Very cool review. I have the 22 model and agree on all points you made. Feels tall, lots of wind at anything over 55mph. Gear shifter is hard with adventure size or large boots, need sporty and narrow shoes for it. Engine needs constant input, can't let go off the gas or it starts to die quickly and need to downshift. 5th gear is best for higher speed riding. 6th is max speed cruising mostly. I find the suspension and feel to be wood-like, not much feedback. Clearance is only 14cm along with the suspension, so not to be taken on rough roads, but I do have fun on gravel roads with switchable ABS. I found a bar to be too low and opted for a 2" riser and that made a huge difference. Overall, great little bike for city, light off-road, and twisties. And unique look and scrambler sound make it just right.

Rob, whose bike this is, has had a blast on it. He has ridden all over his home country of Scotland, many times. It was my pleasure to try it. Glad you liked it. Thanks for watching and for your feedback. Appreciated 👍

I can't remember exactly where I've got the red light set to come on Codger, but it's only a shift light. Likely got another 1,500 to 2,000 rpm to play with there.
A fly screen is as big as I'm willing to go. Just like my hero Million Dollar Bogan, I embrace the suffering 😉😂
Forgot to mention to you that I had thicker oil put into the front forks before you arrived. There's definitely less dive now.
It's a good honest back to basics bike with loads of character and attitude. I love it!
    Cracking summary bud 👍🏻

Same system on the 500x, and I think adjustable. I only hit the real limiter once. I like to ride at the upper third of an engine, gives better engine braking - all those years of bikes with poor brakes. Suited the 401 anyway I think. Great engine that. I'm still buzzing from the visit. 22 years was too long to be away. So I will be eternally grateful to you, Trish, Bella and Mini. 👍👍👍👍

Enjoyed this review/ride. I think I'm going to get the 2024 version. One thing you didn't mention much was the quick shifter up and down. Did you use it much, or did it slip your mind to use it, or did you not care much for it? Thanks.

I don't think this version has one. 👍

Thanks for the review. I did consider one of this type bike. But ended up with the 500x. Windprotection and the more roomy seat for lugage etc. Im still quite happy driving the 500x.

Cheers! Well as a 500x man myself I have to agree. It is nice, though to ride a 'naked' bike on occasion. It's where most of us started. 👍
