Yep, tasers are FAR less effective than the give-peace-a-chance dorks make them out to be.

Incredible, if that landed in his ribs or belly at that angle this whole video would have such a different outcome, in that tight space there - if anything UK police definitely deserve some assisting gear for situations like this.
And this is why police should have guns, now I understand why American police are overly armed. I know some of them using it to abuse the power, but these police officer in this video don't deserve to get killed by just trying to stop a lunatic man with two knives. They are human too, they have family, a son or a daughter, they have mother and father who is worried.

@@Yes-sw8gh England have various stab-proof vests for these scenarios that are actively utilised in London especially (where this case developed) unfortunately the main weapons used are knives as guns are illegal in every sense to own for personal use. In simple, all vital organs are protected.

BOSS BABY that is factually incorrect. British police have special units who have guns. Basically our version of a swat team. Normal every day police don’t carry guns only a baton pepper spray and usually a taser. American police all mostly carry guns. These are hand guns, usually glocks, when a confronting someone who has been suspected of a traffic violation they will be commanded to keep their hands on the wheel. If they disobey this command and reach into a bag or into something of that sort. The police officer may shoot. If they do not shoot they may end up being stabbed or shot which happens a-lot to police officers when doing a traffic stop.
Police are very professional.

Cops there can't carry a gun. This isn't good training... This is reasonable officer fear. They know they can't do anything until there are several officers. Sure... it worked out here, but there is no fucking reason to expect our law enforcers to be willing to take a knife to the gut. Yes, American cops would have shot him. But, we also want to support those that protect us with their lives here in America.
This only looks amazing, because it worked out, they physically don't have guns to carry on duty, and because they had time to talk their fear out and assess the state of the guy. Add a gun, or a victim in the room, or a teaser disconnect... and this video would have told a significantly different tale..

Tasers are not as effective as people think. Some people have a higher tolerance than others and sometimes there isn't a good circuit or sometimes it fails to even get a circuit at all.
TheBiggestOfPops drugs usually do not effect the taser. He could of had an "immunity" of sorts against it or maybe the tazer prongs didnt get a good shot. Or didnt make a good circuit
the laws of physics are not constant in all locations.. merely an average.. most places electrons flow normally, but in some outlier locations they don't work at all

Actually this type of thing happens alot in Wales. I know because i'm Welsh and i live in Gwent. Have you ever seen Valley cops. I'll send you a link. By the way them two officers were wearing stab proof vest.
The others one's were not unarmed they had sprey and a button and they were most likely wearing stab proof vest awell. The only cops from gwent police who are unarmed are community police officers and don't get called out to that scenario. But yeah you are right about the liberal thing.

I'm FLOORED at how calm/respectful these officers were towards the guy even after he almost murdered one of them.
I mean...they are cops, they are trained, they are 3 v 1. Civilians attack each other often with weapons and most of the time we walk away unharmed. The fact that US police are taught to be hyper scared be ause someone has a knife is a failure of training
They don’t know his background, he could be unwell mentally-having a breakdown-all sorts. British police focus heavily on de-escalation-it’s the only way everyone comes out in one piece. In this case, why antagonise the situation when dealing with someone who’s clearly already unstable. Yes he attacked, but the police are always trying to figure out the “why?”. If he suddenly has a lapse and realises what he’s done, he could try and harm himself. It’s all about de-escalation, showing compassion, empathy and understanding for situations of those we do not know. Even if just for the moment to subdue a suspect, that bit of empathy and calmness can be the difference between a live suspect and a dead one. A life is a life.

Still, British police training has declined drastically in the last two decades. British policing was at its best in the 80s/90s. Nowadays, it’s a sham. Community policing doesn’t even exist anymore…

By the looks of it, it's quite likely that the man is either intoxicated or mentally unstable. He was pointing those knives at himself several times to the point where he even cut his shirt, maybe even slightly cut himself. And that crying might have been a reaction to teaser, I think, as it is quite painful. Though one would need some further info on this case to fully determine what happened there. I don't think that he played innocent here

I've seen plenty of videos of American cops missing the suspect and tasing their own partners! lol With American cops shoot first think later trigger happy mentality im surprised they use tasers at all! Not only do Americans lack communication skills they lack the courage to deal with situations like the one in this video. They have a tendency to be overly nervous even in situations where an elderly lady who doesn't speak English is in her own garden cutting flowers with a knife and gets tasered or they open fire on a kid who is playing "cowboy n Indians" with a toy gun! I am all for using a gun in scenarios like this. The cop was literally defending himself against stabs with bare hands. Imagine the taser did not work (as they often don't), at least one cop might have been dead in that scene. This is absolutely unacceptable.

First of all, that "professionalism" in that situation depended solely on the taser working. Some studies found out that in up to 40% of the cases, tasers did not function properly or did not work at all. Go figure.
Second, area of the body covered by the vest is not the only place where the cop can be attacked, obviously. Even severe cuts "just" to his hands can render him pretty much unemployable for the future. Let alone femoral artery, neck, face... So again, go figure.
PS: I am all for heavy regulations on firearms, but not in situations like this.

More than 90% of cops in UK do not wear a firearm. It is a law. So, no, they would not use a firearm if they did not trust their tasers. They simply wouldn't have that option.
This video clearly shows how this law can be dangerous to officers themselves.

@@rrc6965 First of all, you cannot train for a knife attack with a 100% success rate. It is simply impossible.
Furthermore, we are not talking about fending off an attack and running away. We are talking about the cops actually having to subjugate the suspect and prevent him from attacking anyone else who does not have that training.
It is bare hands vs cold weapons (or worse). It is insanity by law. They are willingly putting their officers at risk and this will eventually backfire. Period.
