- The DURIAN capital of the Philippines. Once I heard this I knew I had to make my way to Davao!
That being said, if I could find something with Durian in it, then you know I had to get a piece, bite, or drink of it today!
I started the day off at a fresh market where I enjoyed a light breakfast staple of puto maya and tsokolate. Talk about some real good hot chocolate!
Then I walked through the market going on an all out exotic fruit tasting adventure...and yes that includes some durian!
I headed back to the food area to try a Davao take on a Cebuano dish Balbakwa. Milky, salty, and cooked low and slow. Comfort food at its finest.
Then I needed a break from the heat so I headed to the best cafe in town, Lachi’s for their famous Sans Rival and then of course some Durian Cheesecake.
Lastly, I went out to the Roxas market to indulge in a grilled meat feast that left my pants feeling pretty tight. Of course I wondered around until I was able to find one more sweet treat for the day, which yes, had durian in it!
What an amazing and durian filled day! Really enjoyed Davao and all the durian it had to offer!

Davao, I didn’t get to really explore you like I wanted to as this will be my only video from here! However, what I did see, I truly loved! So much amazing fruit, especially the Durian! Not to mention the grilled meat paradise AKA Roxas Market!

I have only tried the sticky rice.

Grew up in Davao but has migrated here in LA since college. Looking at your vlog made me miss my childhood. You could’ve gone to blugre cafe for the durian latte that you were looking for. I’ve been watching your vids for a long time now and been wanting to ask you why you never visited the Philippines... I guess I just missed these videos! And now that you went to my hometown, it made me click subscribe! Please visit Davao again, you did miss a lot of places to visit for good food!
I had durian in Vietnam and even durian ice cream. I thought it was great. Some people hate it and talked about how bad it smells. I found that to be greatly exaggerated. It just as his own unique smell. It was very good to me and that durian ice cream was really nice. It must be one of those things people ether love it or hate it.

I don't know why durian in the Philippines is cheaper than in VN. If i am not mistaken, 1 seed of durian's price in VN is equivalent to 1 kilo of durian in the Philippines.
That durian cheese cake just made my bucket list. And I didn’t even have a bucket list before watching this video.
That cheesecake should be on everybody's bucket list...it's that good.
We eat that Balbakwa after a night of drinking with my peers and most of the time we go on that same spot. That was the good ol days. Now i'm in America.

There so much to see and experience here in Davao! 1hr travel away from the highlands and also to the pristine beaches... Davao is a good jump point from all other tourist spots around Mindanao... Waterfalls, beaches, and resorts. Enjoy your stay! Life is Here!

This is what Travelling is all about. IMMERSION to the local and eat what the locals eat. If you travel to other place and eat on Malls or Restaurant and drink on fancy Coffee shop then why travel at all right? This is what every Travelog should be!!! Pure immersion to the locals.

Sans rival is my all time favorite. The layers of meringue topped with butter and shaved cashew is just heaven. The way eat is to let is sit for a few minutes till the butter kinda melts a bit. Great video!

You must have visited Eden Nature's Park to enjoy the highland away from the heart of the city. You can enjoy the rides there like Sky swing, skycycle, sky walk, zip line etc. Also, you'll taste different Davaoeño's delicacies on their menu.

My fellow engineers and I just went home here in Cebu from our Davao City National Convention. We went there, at Roxas Night Market, last weekend! And yes, we ate ice creams too - their famous black ice cream. Glad that you enjoyed Davao City!

Tip bro, whenever you get back here in PH, try going to the Bicol Region, known for there spicy delicacies like authentic Bicol Express and the extreme upper part of Luzon, or the Ilocos Region there you'll taste bizaare foods from guts, blood, to who knows what. No known food vlogger ever tried going there yet, not that I know one.

That Mangosteen might not have been ripe. Normally it's pretty sweet. Still looks good though. I got to get down to the south next time I'm in Philipines. The food just looks so different.
