“But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed.”
Galatians 1:8 NKJV
True that.
The Book of Mormon and the Holy Bible teach the same gospel.
13 Behold I have given unto you my gospel, and this is the gospel which I have given unto you-that I came into the world to do the will of my Father, because my Father sent me.
14 And my Father sent me that I might be lifted up upon the cross; and after that I had been lifted up upon the cross, that I might draw all men unto me, that as I have been lifted up by men even so should men be lifted up by the Father, to stand before me, to be judged of their works, whether they be good or whether they be evil-
15 And for this cause have I been lifted up; therefore, according to the power of the Father I will draw all men unto me, that they may be judged according to their works.
16 And it shall come to pass, that whoso repenteth and is baptized in my name shall be filled; and if he endureth to the end, behold, him will I hold guiltless before my Father at that day when I shall stand to judge the world.
17 And he that endureth not unto the end, the same is he that is also hewn down and cast into the fire, from whence they can no more return, because of the justice of the Father.
18 And this is the word which he hath given unto the children of men. And for this cause he fulfilleth the words which he hath given, and he lieth not, but fulfilleth all his words.
19 And no unclean thing can enter into his kingdom; therefore nothing entereth into his rest save it be those who have washed their garments in my blood, because of their faith, and the repentance of all their sins, and their faithfulness unto the end.
20 Now this is the commandment: Repent, all ye ends of the earth, and come unto me and be baptized in my name, that ye may be sanctified by the reception of the Holy Ghost, that ye may stand spotless before me at the last day.
21 Verily, verily, I say unto you, this is my gospel; and ye know the things that ye must do in my church; for the works which ye have seen me do that shall ye also do; for that which ye have seen me do even that shall ye do;
22 Therefore, if ye do these things blessed are ye, for ye shall be lifted up at the last day.

@matahari2667 - I'm sure he was just sharing the good word
The Book of Mormon says we can become like God, while the bible says the exact opposite. That isn't harmony.
Where in the Book of Mormon does it say that?
In Doctine and Covenants 132:20 (I know, technically not the book of mormon), it says that those who achieve exaltation will become gods.
Whereas in the bible it repeatedly says that there is only one god. Just take a look at Isaiah 44:6-8, or Isaiah 43:10.
It's not a technicality - it's not the Book of Mormon.
The Bible repeatedly says there are many Gods and that we are meant to be like Him.
@@CalledtoShare It is still your official doctrine. Gotta deal with it.
Well, the bible speaks of false gods and idols that have no real existence, but otger than that, I am assuming you are refering to either those verses in Psalms 81 (including the time Jesus quoted it) and/or Dueteronomy something (forgot the chapter). Those verses have "gods" rendered because they speak of angels and human kings. The term for "god" in hebrew is "elohim", which can also mean a figure of great power or authority, like an angel or ruler
It's all over. It's in Genesis. It's in Corinthians. It's in Romans 8. It's in Matthew 5. God gives us divine potential. He is not threatened with his children having the potential to be like him and have all he has. That's what he wants for us.
The Bible doesn't need any help. It's the complete story from beginning to end.

@@CalledtoSharegenuine question.
You say that the Bible and the Book of Mormon are in perfect harmony. Would you consider christians who fully commit to the Bible are unsaved, because they don't espouse to follow modern prophets?
In which case, do you really believe that the Bible is consistent? Since you believe it's not sufficient unto salvation???
1. **Context of Mentioned Books**: The books mentioned, like the "Book of the Wars of Yahweh" or the "Book of Jasher," are referenced in the Bible as sources or records. These references were likely well-known documents or oral traditions at the time but were not considered divinely inspired Scripture by the Jewish community or early Christians.
2. **Canon of Scripture**: The Bible, as it stands today, has been recognized by the Christian church as the complete canon of Scripture. This includes the books that have been discerned and accepted through historical councils and theological examination as inspired by God.
3. **Purpose of References**: The references to these books in the Bible are not an indication that they were meant to be part of the biblical canon. Instead, they serve to provide historical context or additional details for the events described.
4. **Divine Inspiration and Completeness**: The 66 books of the Protestant Bible are considered the complete and sufficient Word of God. The Bible does not claim to contain every piece of historical writing or record but provides all that is necessary for faith, doctrine, and living a godly life.
While the Bible does mention other books, these references serve more as historical context rather than as indications of missing Scripture. The canon of the Bible is considered complete and inspired as it stands today. The books mentioned were likely historical records that were well-known during biblical times but were not intended to be part of the biblical canon. The Bible provides everything necessary for understanding God's message and living a life of faith."
@happy79000 Awesome reply, I didn't even notice that there were replies to my original comment.
@CalledtoShare Nothing you listed changes the Bible. That's like saying eff the church fathers and the early Jews who followed Jesus. It's like saying the Apocrypha changes the Bible. It doesn't. If it's not in today's Bible, it's because it didn't pass the scrutiny of authentication from the Church who preserved the scriptures.
I grew up in the Mormon church. They put way too much emphasis on the Book of Mormon and not enough on the Bible. They cherry pick the Bible and twist the context of Bible verses to make it seem like it agrees with Mormonism
We spent the whole entire 2023 year reading and studying the New Testament.
I've read the King James Version, I've read the Joseph Smith translation, I've studied other versions as well.
I understand the KJV of John 1 and I know that Joseph Smith's translation is different. I believe Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and that he was called to restore precious truths that were lost.
Bottom line, John 1 is confusing.
Even with that confusion, and the clarification from the Joseph Smith translation, there isn't anything in John 1 that I would disagree with.
"Your church admits the JST was fully translated by Joseph. Why don't they use this instead of the KJV?"
Copyright issues.
@@kd3738 well said. Joseph Smith has twisted the “plain and precious” truths of the Bible but in the Book of Mormon JS has written that the “plain and precious” truths were removed from the Bible. In the Book of Mormon is a complaint, “A Bible, a Bible, we have a Bible,” like it’s a bad thing to rely only on the Bible. JS complains the Bible was mistranslated but used the KJV of Isaiah in Book of Mormon but Dead Sea scrolls of Isaiah proved the version JS used was incorrect. KJV has been supernaturally far more affected by Mandela Effect like changes. I’ve grown to love the NASB with the apocrypha and NIV version. KJV now says “dragons” 16 times when footnotes still says “jackals” which are wild dogs. Isaiah 11:6 used to say “the Lion shall lie down with the lamb”
@@CalledtoShare that’s sad 😞 John 1 is clear and precious on its own without JST tainting it! John 1 shares true nature of Jesus Christ or better yet the Word of God made flesh who is King Yeshua - NOT brother of Satan as JS teaches. I find this to be counter to the gospel of Joseph Smith. The Biblical Gospel is about living in a communion with a God who is above you. Joseph Smith’s gospel is about becoming your own god and seemingly leaving God behind. I pray that this inspires thought and hope for whoever is reading this
Show me any statement from any prophet anywhere that would lead you to believe that the end goal is to leave God behind.
@ Hey! Appreciate your reply. I believe I saw a quote from Joseph Smith from the Book of Mormon saying that they will become gods of their own worlds and populate them on their own. That is not the community with God that I see in Revelation

Why wouldn't we become everything He is?
You have a father. If you become a father to a child, does that make your father any less of a father to you?

@@CalledtoShareOh wow! Because a few people in the bible had multiple wives, and God still used them, that MUST mean that God SUPPORTED polygamy, right?!
That is a stupid argument. Moses was used by God. Moses also murdered someone. Moses also didn't trust God and struck a rock instead of talking to it. Therefore, since someone in the bible murdered someone, God OBVIOUSLY promotes and supports murder!
And David was a man of God, right? Well, he really couldn't keep his eyes off of Bathsheba, and since he slept with her and it's in the bible, God MUST have been okay with it!
And Abraham was monogamous, was married to Sarai. Yes, he slept with a female servant, but that was an emergent circumstance, not the everyday normal. Otherwise Sarah would never have had to talk him into doing it, it would have just been left unsaid.
If you're going to cite the bible, at least know what you're talking about.

If anything i say intrigues you, I advise looking at the video series why we can trust the bible by DLM Christian Lifestyles, as well as the video by Reedemed Zoomer one 10 arguments for God.
But the way I see it
If everything had a cause, nothing would exist because before we could get to the present, an infinite amount of events would need to happen first, which is impossible. So there needs to be a definite start. Since life comes from life and not nonlife, that definite start would be a thinking feeling life, God. We can see attributes of God in us like our ability to reason and love and feel.
As well as there are things that I believe are objectively wrong (like murder) and in order for things to be objectively wrong, there would need to be someone with an authority above us to set said morals in place, which would be God.
Like any other historical source, the disciples and other eyewitnesses of Jesus life, miracles, resurrection and that he is God, held true to their claims till death, even though their claims didn't benefit them and got them persecuted and killed, making them reliable sources. The gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) are some of these eyewitness accounts. As well as there being Roman (nonchristian) writers who wrote about Jesus' execution, proving his existence.
God is good, so sin and evil is when you disobey God and his will.
God loves us so he gives us the free will to choose what we want to do, even if it's wrong. However, God is still just, so he can't leave evil unpunished. He is so just that all who sin aren't worthy of his Kingdom. And we all sin. Think about it like this, a lot of pain and suffering in the world is caused by us, whether big or small. God loves us and doesn't want anyone hurting us. But in order to remove all the pain from the world, He'd have to remove us as removing the free will he gave us isn't just.
God cared for us enough to meet us where we are. As whilst we were still sinners, God came to Earth as a man (Jesus), lived the perfect sinless life we should've lived and paid the price for our sins (death) and defeated death when he rose again on the third day, so that we can have peace, salvation, eternal life and a relationship with him. And all we need to do is repent (express remorse) for our sins and follow Jesus. He cares for each one of us enough to die for the sins of each one of us (crimes he didn't commit), so he cares about people (including you) on an individual level too, that's why he wants a relationship with you.
Romans 5:8-9 New International Version (NIV)
"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him!"
God gives us the free will to choose to follow him or not. However, when you follow him, you allow him to work in your heart to give you peace and joy and to make you a better person. But if u refuse to follow him, God honors your free will and choice to do so. However, that means you are claiming that you can live a good life without Him. So when God is judging people and their actions (as he must as He is both good and just) all the sins of the unbeliever are weighed against them, because they claimed full responsibility for their actions and choices. But the believer has accepted the gift Jesus gave in paying the price for their sins, so they are weighed as blameless.
God doesn't force you to follow him. He gives you free choice, but the different choices have consequences. God wants us to follow him because he wants to have a relationship with us, as we are his children who he loves dearly.
So believers meet God in heaven to live eternally, because they followed him.
And non believers are to be judged for their sins and since everyone sins, they are thrown into Hell. That's why believers are called to share this message so that people accept Jesus and can be saved by repenting their sins and accepting and following Jesus.
Jesus lived a life helping those who were sick, poor in spirit, and hurting. He lived his life poor when he could've chosen to be born rich. This is why I trust in God's goodness and love for us, even when i don't fully understand some things
This is why I believe God is real, loves you and you can put your trust in him. And though there are people who twist religion to hurt others (Jesus warned against false prophets and scribes we should be weary of), I'm not going to let the corrupt nature of some people ruin my relationship with God. There will always be people who try take a good thing and use it for evil, so even though there are many times of people using the Bible for their own motives, I can trust in the God who was willing to face physical and spiritual death for me even when I didn't do anything to earn it, who wants to grant me peace and joy and who emphasized loving God and loving thy neighbour.

They talk a good game about the similarities between us, but dont be fooled; they are not Christian.
The Holy Bible is one example of scripture. It is an account of God's interactions and teachings with the people in and around the Eastern Mediterranean region before during and after the ministry of Jesus Christ.
It is a collection of writings both spiritual and historical written by prophets. In the Holy Bible there are miraculous stories of faith sacrifice trial and love.
What about the people that lived beyond the geographical setting of the Bible outside the Mediterranean area? What kind of interaction did God have with them? Well, in the Bible from the Book of John, Jesus revealed to his disciples in Jerusalem “And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring and they shall hear my voice and there shall be one fold and one shepherd.”
Some of these other sheep to which Jesus refers are the inhabitants of the ancient Americas who lived at that time. The Book of Mormon is a compilation of the sacred writings of many generations of the people that lived there and received instruction and teachings from God. They had prophets who, just like the Bible, recorded spiritual and historical events over thousands of years and, similarly to the Bible, these stories and events were written down collected and shared from generation to generation.
They too were eventually compiled into a book. It is called the Book of Mormon: Another testament of Jesus Christ, and like the Bible, the Book of Mormon is a collection of writings both spiritual and historical written by God's prophets.
The crowning event in the Book of Mormon is the account of Jesus Christ ministering to the other sheep as he said he would shortly after his death.

@bluefiremarkii Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, etc all believe in Jesus Christ yet they aren't considered Christians. The defining factor of what makes a group of people Christian is if they accept the deity of Jesus Christ as the sole God of the universe. Here's key contradictions in doctrine that fundamentally puts the LDS church at odds with mainstream Christendom:
- *Christians:* Jesus is the eternal and sole God of the universe
- *Mormons:* Jesus was elected to be the savior of the world and was the firstborn creation of God (DC 93:21)
- *Christians:* Salvation is by grace alone
- *Mormons:* Grace after all you can do (faith + works)(Gospel Topic Essay: Grace or Works?)
- *Christians:* Post judgement, believers will live on a renewed Earth for eternity in God's presence
- *Mormons:* Three tiers of heaven, in which the inhabitants of the highest tier can become gods exactly like Heavenly Father, which is in complete opposition to the Bible (DC 132)

"One of the arguments often used in any defense of a closed canon is the New Testament passage recorded in Revelation 22:18: “For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of … this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book.” However, there is now overwhelming consensus among virtually all biblical scholars that this verse applies only to the book of Revelation, not the whole Bible. Those scholars of our day acknowledge a number of New Testament “books” that were almost certainly written after John’s revelation on the Isle of Patmos was received. Included in this category are at least the books of Jude, the three Epistles of John, and probably the entire Gospel of John itself. Perhaps there are even more than these.
But there is a simpler answer as to why that passage in the final book of the current New Testament cannot apply to the whole Bible. That is because the whole Bible as we know it-one collection of texts bound in a single volume-did not exist when that verse was written. For centuries after John produced his writing, the individual books of the New Testament were in circulation singly or perhaps in combinations with a few other texts but almost never as a complete collection. Of the entire corpus of 5,366 known Greek New Testament manuscripts, only 35 contain the whole New Testament as we now know it, and 34 of those were compiled after a.d. 1000.
The fact of the matter is that virtually every prophet of the Old and New Testament has added scripture to that received by his predecessors. If the Old Testament words of Moses were sufficient, as some could have mistakenly thought them to be, then why, for example, the subsequent prophecies of Isaiah or of Jeremiah, who follows him? To say nothing of Ezekiel and Daniel, of Joel, Amos, and all the rest. If one revelation to one prophet in one moment of time is sufficient for all time, what justifies these many others? What justifies them was made clear by Jehovah Himself when He said to Moses, “My works are without end, and … my words … never cease.”
One Protestant scholar has inquired tellingly into the erroneous doctrine of a closed canon. He writes: “On what biblical or historical grounds has the inspiration of God been limited to the written documents that the church now calls its Bible? … If the Spirit inspired only the written documents of the first century, does that mean that the same Spirit does not speak today in the church about matters that are of significant concern?” We humbly ask those same questions." - Jeffrey R. @CalledtoShare bro, you can't become like god by doing things
People are talking about how the Book of Mormon must be false. So to that I say this:
1. How could Joseph Smith have made up the book of Mormon if he was illiterate, an example would be his wife (who was his scribe in the beginning, yes he could not even write) saying how Joseph Smith didn't even know there were walls around Jerusalem.
2. There are names in the book of mormon that are from ancient Hebrew times that were not discovered on pottery shards abd papyrus scrolls until long after his death.
3. The way the book of Mormon is written is in a way that reflects ancient Hebrew, with its thought patterns and speech.
4. The book of Mormon was written in only 65 days, now let me ask you, how long does it take to write a book? Especially one with 531 pages? On top of that, the time it takes to translate the book of Mormon in this modern day to other languages is much slower even with all our technology, the prophet has said that they only get around 1 passage done a day, and thats with all our modern technology and the best translators in the world. Now compare that to how Joseph Smith and his small team if three people were getteing 8 passages done a day.
5. 2 Corinthians 13:1 "in the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established". Nephi 27:12 "they shall testify to the truth of the book and the things therein". Even though the three witnesses eventually left the church (2 returned) none of them denied the truth of the gospel, same with the eight witnesses, they never denied the truth of the gospel in fact most of the eight witnesses and all of the three witnesses bared their testimony right before death.
6. Why would he go so far for something he made up? He literally died because he knew what was true, he could've ran away, or hid, or faught back, but he didn't. It's not the Bible. It's another testament of Jesus Christ.

It is a collection of writings both spiritual and historical written by prophets. In the Holy Bible there are miraculous stories of faith, sacrifice, trial and love.
They had prophets who, just like the Bible, recorded spiritual and historical events over thousands of years and, similarly to the Bible, these stories and events were written down, collected and shared from generation to generation.

@@rosesmith3971 I can't speak for the good missionaries in this video, but I can speak for my experiences doing the same thing 16 years ago. Yes, miracles do occur. I have borne witness to them. Generally, such experiences are of such a character that we usually keep them to ourselves.
As I am anonymous, I can state that when I was on my mission 16 years ago, I was both witness to and a participant in a priesthood blessing that resulted in the complete overnight recovery of a woman with terminal cancer.
Others will claim that I'm lying, but I saw it happen. Miracles can and do occur. Most of them are far more subtle, but sometimes ones like that do happen. I hope that answers your question.
@@TheYgds thank you very much for replying kind sir. How did you witness her get healed from terminal cancer how all of a sudden was it able that she was healed. Or did your priest announce that she was healed and then she was healed? How did you know for a fact she had it. Also do you have any personal testimonies that prove that miracles are real. I've asked many missionaries this and they never seem to give me a answer of their own experience it's always another person's.
@@rosesmith3971 I must keep the individuals, and myself confidential. What I can answer is that I am the "priest" in this narrative, along with my old missionary companion.
She was a woman I had recently baptized. She was terminal when we baptized her. She had cervical cancer that had metastasized to her ovaries and was spreading in her lymphatic system. She was getting chemotherapy and radiation treatment, just to keep her alive a bit longer, but she was given 6 months at the time I first met her. She had received other blessings from other companionships, with no change.
She asked us for another blessing one Sunday, when she was in particularly dire pain. We gave it, and I left with a clear impression that I needed to pray further over the matter. That night, when saying my nightly prayers, I asked God why she had not yet been healed. I got no response. I continued to press the issue, stating that if we did indeed possess the Holy Priesthood, and that she did indeed have the faith necessary, that she ought to be healed. If not for her sake alone, then for her two sons. I continued this way for around an hour, emphasizing the power God had promised through the priesthood. When I was finished, feeling a confirmation that I'd been heard. I went to bed.
When I was asleep, we got a late night phone call. It was late, so neither of us answered. Leaving a message it was this woman calling us, telling us she was having a fever. We called back and told her she needed to call Emergency, not us. She did so and was taken to the Hospital. We saw her again a couple days later, and she was like a completely new woman. She told us the cancer was gone. When she was getting checked while in the Hospital, analysis from the doctors had shown that her tumors had disappeared, and there wasn't even scaring left behind. Unfortunately, I never got to talk to the doctors, which I'll admit, is a problem in this story.
It caused quite the commotion in her local apartment complex. Others started listening to us, though people are amazed by such things for only short periods of time. However, in her life it changed everything. She was able to get a job and start working, was able to play with her little son again and now knew she'd be. If this was fake, it was the most convincing fake I'd ever witnessed.
I hope that answers some of your question. Something to remember is that these missionaries are young. They haven't had time to see things like this. I was fortunate, and also very persistent. In my case, miracles of this type are the rarest.
Instead, I find the most common miraculous event is the one that comes through inspiration and revelation. When you are instructed to go to someone's home, who needs you. When you are told a loved one will soon die and you need to see them. When the view of the natural world breaks, and all that is unseen becomes seen and you can glimpse those things which God hides except from those who are earnestly seeking them.
Then, there is the other side, when Satan makes his power manifest and beings of darkness and despair set upon you. Nobody likes sharing those experiences. My Father had to cast out evil spirits on his mission, and it took him over 20 years to talk about it.
Again, these experiences are rare and kept mostly confidential. In some cases you'll have an easier time wrestling national secrets of intelligence officers than you will in getting people share such experiences. We are protective of them, they are sacred, and often God gives a strict commandment not to reveal them.

Temple garments are a reminder of Jesus christ and the Covenants that mormons have made in the temple, and not a form of a magical thing they are required to wear.
There are many references to the holy garment throughout the Bible. Rev 16:15 for example. 15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame. It represents the Lamb of God. When Adam and Eve were cast from the garden God slew a lamb to make coats of skin to cover their nakedness. The lamb slain to cover their nakedness is symbolic of Jesus who willingly submitted himself to be slain to cover our sins. Wearing the garment means we are covered in Christ.

While the video suggests that the Bible and the Book of Mormon are in harmony, there are several fundamental contradictions between the two, particularly in their teachings about God and salvation. Here are some key points to consider:
1. The nature of God: The Bible teaches that God is eternally unchanging and singular in nature (Malachi 3:6, Deuteronomy 6:4). However, Mormonism teaches that God was once a human being who became divine (Doctrine and Covenants 130:22), and that humans can also become gods (Lorenzo Snow, ‘As man is, God once was…’). This implies polytheism, which contrasts sharply with the monotheism of the Bible.
2. The Trinity: The Bible presents God as one being in three persons-Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19, 2 Corinthians 13:14). In contrast, Mormonism rejects the traditional Trinitarian view, instead teaching that the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are three separate beings (3 Nephi 11:27, Doctrine and Covenants 130:22). This directly contradicts the Bible’s teaching of a single, unified Godhead.
3. Jesus and Satan as brothers: While the Bible clearly presents Jesus as the eternal Son of God (John 1:1-3, Colossians 1:16-17), Mormon doctrine teaches that Jesus and Satan are spirit brothers, both created by God (Moses 4:1-4, Abraham 3:22-28). This starkly contrasts with the biblical teaching that Jesus is the Creator, not a created being.
4. Salvation by grace vs. works: The Bible teaches that salvation is by grace through faith alone, not by works (Ephesians 2:8-9). However, the Book of Mormon (2 Nephi 25:23) teaches that grace is only sufficient ‘after all we can do,’ implying that works are necessary for salvation, which contradicts the Bible’s emphasis on grace alone.
5. The finality of scripture: The Bible warns against adding to scripture (Revelation 22:18-19), while the Book of Mormon claims to be another testament of Jesus Christ (Introduction to the Book of Mormon). This raises concerns about the sufficiency and completeness of the Bible’s revelation.
These differences reveal that the teachings of the Book of Mormon and Mormonism are not in full harmony with the Bible. I believe it’s important to examine these contradictions carefully and consider what the Bible truly says.
Your perceived contradictions do not mean the two books are not in harmony.
Example number four shows that you have not read the Book of Mormon. You cherry picked one verse that does not represent the message of theBook of Mormon, at least the way that you are interpreting the verse.
@@CalledtoShare I appreciate your perspective, but I have never mentioned having read the entire Book of Mormon. Coming from the Quran on my pursuit of the truth, I’ve noticed several similarities between the two doctrines. Both texts contain teachings that conflict with the core tenets of Christianity, particularly regarding the nature of God, salvation, and prophetic authority.
These are not just ‘my perceived contradictions’; they are issues that have been studied and vetted by scholars and the church since the early days of Christianity. Dismissing these arguments doesn’t bring us closer to the truth; it only stubbornly stands its ground in a childish manner, which isn’t helpful in a meaningful conversation.
I did not come from a Christian background, and both reading and ultimately rejecting the lies found in the Quran and the Book of Mormon helped me find the truth in Jesus Christ, rather than in Muhammad or Joseph Smith. I encourage you to study the teachings of Christ and his followers, as they provide a clear path to understanding the truth. By leaving behind misconceptions rooted in these other texts, you may discover the profound love and grace that the Gospel offers.
The Bible is part of our canon. I read the Bible every day. My wife and I are reading the New Testament together every night. Because I have read the Bible, and the Book of Mormon, I can confidently declare that they both teach the doctrine of Christ.
Can I mail you a Book of Mormon so you can read it for yourself?
@@CalledtoShare Thank you for your offer, but I already have a copy of the Book of Mormon and have studied it in the past. While it’s not my current priority, I still read it occasionally, especially when missionaries come by. From my study, I understand that, from your perspective, the Bible and the Book of Mormon may seem to align, but upon deeper examination, key doctrinal differences reveal fundamental contradictions.
I encourage you and your wife to continue studying the Bible and seeking the truth it offers. As you read, I hope that the words of Jesus Christ and His unique example will stand out as the true path to salvation. Jesus Himself warned against adding to or altering God’s Word (Revelation 22:18-19), which raises important questions about the authenticity of the Mormon canon, especially considering the divergence from the apostolic faith that the early Church preserved in the Bible.
While I respect your journey, I’ve come to see that ideologies like those in the Book of Mormon diverge from the trustworthy teachings of Christ. I pray that, as you seek the truth through the Bible, you may come to fully embrace the Gospel through humility and submission to God’s will, following Christ's example, and set aside teachings that may obscure His message.
The Book of Mormon blatantly contradicts Biblical scripture on multiple fundamental points and has been irrefutably proven fraudulent.
The Book of Mormon teaches a different God and Jesus from the Bible, promoting a plurality of gods and claiming that Jesus is a spirit brother to Satan, born of a heavenly father and mother. This directly opposes the one and only triune God of the Bible (Alma 11:26-31; Alma 18:36; Mosiah 15:1-5; 2 Nephi 31:21; 2 Nephi 2:17-18; Moses 4:1-4) versus (Colossians 1:15-20; Hebrews 1:3; Isaiah 7:14; 43:10-11; John 1:1-3; 14; 10:30; Luke 1:26-38; Matthew 28:19; Philippians 2:9-11).
It falsely teaches salvation by grace combined with works, directly contradicting the Bible's clear message of salvation through grace and faith alone in Christ alone, gifts from God alone, not our own doing (Moroni 10:32; 2 Nephi 25:23) versus (Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 4:4-5).
The Book of Mormon audaciously claims to be another testament of Jesus Christ alongside the Bible, despite the Bible's explicit warnings against adding or subtracting from God's Word (Deuteronomy 4:2; Revelation 22:18-19).
The Book of Mormon also presents significant issues that challenge its authenticity and raise concerns about its origins. Rigorous genetic studies have shown a lack of Middle Eastern DNA among Native Americans, completely disproving the book's historical claims. Additionally, thorough investigations have highlighted historical inaccuracies, such as the anachronistic mentions of steel and horses and the absence of archaeological evidence for the large-scale civilizations described in the text.
The language purported to be "Reformed Egyptian" and the existence of golden plates are entirely baseless. Assertions from one Egyptologist, without backing from the broader academic community and claims of secret information held by native tribes or the existence of the land of Bountiful, are not substantiated by any credible evidence.
I strongly urge seeking truth and wisdom solely in the Holy Bible, the inspired Word of God, which warns against accepting any other gospel or scripture (Galatians 1:8-9). As Philippians 2:12 proclaims, "Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling," firmly anchored in the truths of God's Word in the Holy Bible.
Hello! My name is elder price! And I would like to share with you, the most amazing book! (Book of Mormon musical reference)
Hello Elder!
Him and his brother died because they knew it is true. On top of that Joseph Smith lost children because of persocuters, if it was all made up, why would he let all his loved ones die?
7. Things written in the book of Mormon have came true long after it was written and continue to come true. An example would be: they literally talk about how there will be wars and rumors of wars in the latter days, now i don't know about you guys but i am hearing about many wars, and there sure are a lot of rumors about war.
All of this i learned at FSY (for stength of youth), it is a fun summer camp like place you go to for a week where you learn about the gospel
Galatians 1:8
It was Satan not God who appears to Joseph smith
I could agree with all these points but we'd be both wrong
Thanks for the summary, finally a voice of reason
1) He wasn't illiterate; he could read the Bible. Despite Joseph Smith’s limited formal education and claims from his wife that he lacked basic historical knowledge (e.g., not knowing Jerusalem had walls), there are plausible explanations for how he could have composed The Book of Mormon. Smith was a skilled storyteller and was deeply influenced by religious ideas circulating in early 19th-century America, including themes from the Bible and View of the Hebrews. With assistance from educated scribes and drawing on popular contemporary theories about Native American origins and lost Israelite tribes, Smith may have creatively crafted The Book of Mormon despite his limited background.
2) Many more places in the Book of Mormon reflect American places and names. The names you're referring to could be coincidental or drawn from Smith’s familiarity with the Bible and early American naming conventions. Names like Alma and Sariah could resemble variations of biblical names or ce explained by the occasional overlap in naming conventions across cultures.
3) Well, A) It should instead reflect Ancient Egyptian and B) It makes sense it reflects Ancient Hebrew because Joesph Smith plagiarized from his KJV bible to write it.
4) The translation process took closer to 2 years and 5 months, as that was the timeline from when he "discovered the golden plates" to publishing.
5) Out of the eleven official witnesses to The Book of Mormon, six were family members of Joseph Smith, and several others had financial stakes in Mormonism’s success. Martin Harris mortgaged his farm to fund the book’s printing, Oliver Cowdery was heavily involved as a scribe and leader, and David Whitmer’s family provided critical support during the translation process. Given these ties, many of the witnesses had a significant personal investment in the success of Mormonism.
6) Joseph Smith’s willingness to endure persecution and even die for his beliefs doesn’t prove they were true. Throughout history, many leaders have suffered or faced martyrdom for beliefs others consider false, driven by conviction, cognitive dissonance, or psychological investment. Sincerity Doesn’t Equal Truth.
7) Joseph Smith himself admitted that not all revelations come from God, suggesting he recognized the potential for human error in his prophecies. For example, he once predicted that a temple would be built in Missouri within his generation, a prophecy that ultimately went unfulfilled. When certain prophecies didn’t happen, he reportedly acknowledged that not every revelation was divinely inspired. This uncertainty casts doubt on the reliability of The Book of Mormon’s predictions. Broad statements like “wars and rumors of wars” are general enough to apply to almost any era, as conflict has always been a recurring part of human history. These phrases don’t necessarily stand out as prophetic but rather reflect universal concerns that could resonate in any time period.
Question: if the Book of Mormon is a direct translation, why is the original text in KJV English? Which wasn’t spoken at the time of Joseph Smith.
Here are some possibilities > www.fairlatterdaysaints.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/King_James_Bible_and_the_Book_of_Mormon.pdf
It's just the way it was written down, I think.
Joseph used the kjv as a template to make the Book of Mormon sound more "biblical". He's a false prophet that has fooled millions. Bad trouble.
It wasn’t translated he just wrote false stuff down, according to them god not God but god said write this, they also believe that Jesus died for no purpose whatsoever.
We are Christian's, they are Mormon's; 2 very key words and concepts. Christian is a Latin word meaning of Christ or little Christ. The Bible says " they were fist called Christian's at Antioch." The word Mormon would also be latin meaning of Mormo. The Mormon's were first called Mormon's roughly 150 + or -, year's ago. The gospel revealed to the prophet Joseph Smith aligns perfectly with the Bible.
The words of Jesus Christ himself as recorded in the Book of Mormon in 3 Nephi 27 where he defines His gospel. There is no better definition given in all of scripture:
21 Verily, verily, I say unto you, this is my gospel; and ye know the things that ye must do in my church; for the works which ye have seen me do that shall ye also do; for that which ye have seen me do even that shall ye do;
22 Therefore, if ye do these things blessed are ye, for ye shall be lifted up at the last day.
Same gospel as the Holy Bible teaches:
Revelation 22: 11-14
11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.
12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
This is the true message of the Book of Mormon regarding salvation through Christ - it's the same gospel preached in the Holy Bible.
"Wherefore, I know that thou art redeemed, because of the righteousness of thy Redeemer; for thou hast beheld that in the fulness of time he cometh to bring salvation unto men." 2 Nephi 2:3
"Wherefore, how great the importance to make these things known unto the inhabitants of the earth, that they may know that there is no flesh that can dwell in the presence of God, save it be through the merits, and mercy, and grace of the Holy Messiah, who layeth down his life according to the flesh, and taketh it again by the power of the Spirit, that he may bring to pass the resurrection of the dead, being the first that should rise." - 2 Nephi 2:8
"And ye shall hear my words, for, for this intent have I come up upon the walls of this city, that ye might hear and know of the judgments of God which do await you because of your iniquities, and also that ye might know the conditions of repentance;
And also that ye might know of the coming of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Father of heaven and of earth, the Creator of all things from the beginning; and that ye might know of the signs of his coming, to the intent that ye might believe on his name.
And if ye believe on his name ye will repent of all your sins, that thereby ye may have a remission of them through his merits." - Helaman 14: 11-13
