I'm playing BG3 atm and I'm enjoying it maybe too much. I like everything about it: the mechanics, the story, all the companions I've met so far. But Astarion is the best for obvious reasons. Especially after I saw that "Astarion approves" when I quietly admired a cat, that was really cute :')
I’ve been OBSESSED with bg3!!! I’m not a content creator, but I have been consuming content for years like many others. Face cam placement can be a huge thing as you want to block out as few in-game UI components as you can (obviously not always achievable). Your stream openings have been fantastic, if anything about those, maybe wait a couple extra minutes before doing full intros so people can load up the stream after you’ve announced it. Idk ur setup, if there is much delay between input and output, etc. Much of this seems basic and you may already know, but I wanted to share in case you didn’t 😌 and if you want to establish a bit more of a content creation presence on RUclips or twitch, consider editing the streams down into 20-30 minute highlights (if you need said editor, I’d be happy to offer my services ;))! Make use of clips and shorts and tiktoks! Glad you’re enjoying the community and interaction 😌😌

See what got me to subscribe. Was not only the brain creature that he had for a pet. I'm really sad it died in this episode, but he has a penchant for exploring each character's underwear. I don't know why I find that funny but I do along with your thoughts about his touch, nothing and then he proceeds to touch something
I love the comment you made because that is definitely me I'm also particularly fond of like the brain creature being kept as a pet. I'm sad it's gone but that's okay. There's more possibilities for more pets I think it's funny that he just like looks at the stats of each character's underwear
Man Astarion's dialogue on the first long rest is so sad when you think about it in context, like he's not used to being _allowed_ to rest through the night he usually had to go out and hunt for Cazador

Lol I'd like to think that too. But Neil confirmed in another interview that that wasn't the case - the devs had Astarion written and his character design done before auditioning actors for him. But they did tailor some of the lines to incorporate Neil's adlibs.

44:07 As someone who's in the closing acts of our 3 year-ish long Curse of Strahd campaign, I can confirm that Strahd would in-fact NOT put up with any of this shit. You all did such an amazing job of quite literally breathing life into these characters. This game will be cherished for years to come, thank you ♥
I love that they let you send stuff directly from your inventory to camp vs having to physically to go camp. They must’ve known that a lot of players will absolutely go through every box and chest they can so it would be annoying to constantly go to camp just to get rid of some weight until you get to a shop to sell
Hey, Neil! I don't know if you'll see this. But I just beat the Cazador boss. What you did with Astarion with his reaction to his death was probably one of the best performances I've ever seen. I got chills and emotional very quickly. You are just outright, a brilliant man, and getting to witness you as this character is genuinely a delight. Thank you for everything you've done.
Thank you so much for your stellar performance as Astarion. His personal quest absolutely blew my mind and the gut-wrenching scream you did at the climax of his (good ending) storyline... my god. MY. GOD. I was sobbing. Thank you for giving us this sweet, soft, cheeky lad ❤
this game helps me get through a very difficult period in life, so as not to completely lose my mind and somehow get distracted, can say its a kind of therapy and very funny in a sense. thanks to everyone involved
Astarion is resonating with so many of us and watching you share your hard work with so much enthusiasm, respect and love for it, just makes the game, as well as the character itself even greater than it already is. Thank you and I cant wait to see more of it.
Really enjoying your playthrough. It's encouraging to see artists delight in their work, and extremely entertaining to hear an actor interacting with their own characters. Lots of love from the U.S. - Cheers!
astarion is a great character but i feel that your performance as him really elevated him to a new level for me. i love hearing you interact with the game!
I just wanted to come in and say thank you so much for giving your vocal magic. I have bad anxiety and sadness some days and normally wouldn’t comment like this but you are a treasure to voice acting! I look forward to seeing you in more projects! Hopefully a live action of Baldurs Gate one day! Thank you again ❤️❤️❤️
TLDR: BG3 once again, like the first one, changed my life. Slight longer story: I wasn't even going to get this game which is weird for me, because Forgotten Realms and Faerun are my WORLD. I've read well over half of every Forgotten realms book as a kid, which triggered my imagination, and BG1 was literally my trigger for drawing. Since I was 8 years old I never put down a pencil haha, drawing characters I made up, book covers, anyhting and everything. I tried to pursue my dreams but... where I'm from, those kind of dreams get a little "pooed" upon. I lost all ambition, all excitement for the thing I loved. Then my friends were like "hey come play this game with us" so I bought it. And the MOMENT I set foot on land (or to be more precise, weird flesh ship) I was 8 years old again. I was literally crying in excitement, regaling my friends with lore they never even knew they wanted to know hahaha! When I saw a certain "old traveller" I literally screamed so loud my neighbors came to see if everything was ok >.>; I'm excited again. I've picked up a pencil again and have started making twitch emotes and character portraits and concept art for my friends DND campaign. Anywho, enough rambling from some rando.... just know your work is appreciated more than you might know
It's always a sheer joy to see voice actors play the game they're acting in, especially when their mannerisms are similar to the character they're acting as. :D A sheer delight!
Balder's Gate III is the very first game in many years that I cherish and adore and I haven't even made it to the ending. The world is so vast and brimming with life-- a lot of that owed to the voice actors of these characters we grow to love. Astarion immediately intrigued me and pulled me into the game further, and now I can't get enough. Thank you so much Neil for continuing to share your talent with us all. It was SUCH a blast to watch you play and enjoy the game and I look forward to seeing more playthrough! x
Neil's saltiness when he couldn't talk to the others in camp...but at least he got a chance to chat with our boi! 😆 Enjoying the shenanigans, they're making my initial restless nights of university assignments tolerable. 💖
GaH!!!! Astarion!!!! He's my favorite sad boi ever! Thanks for doing this Neil and Tom! I love all the extra Astarion lines you are throwing in btw. Thank you for bringing Astarion alive with you amazing acting and mo cap work! Love the stream!!!!
So sad I missed this! It's awesome that you appreciate the game. Not many VAs would be willing or invested to play a game they did work on. I love it so much and have put in about 160 hours now 😳. It's been worth every second though
It's so much fun watching you both play ❤ Neil channeling Astarion energy trying to keep the best goodies for himself and "accidentally" damaging friends. It's so interesting seeing what choices you make (on abilities and convos).
this is so CUTE, i mean ive seen VAs play their own game before, but something about Astarion and Neil, it's like so fun and FRESH HELLO. (also i am a gay man so i think you guys get it)
It took me awhile to realize that you can pick up and use backpacks you find. It’s so obvious but finally trying that was a game changer for my inventory game
I cannot explain accurately what Astarion means to me as a character. His growth was amazing to see. Larion AND you did amazing at bringing vamp daddy to life. 🤣
Neil truly has one of the greatest voices in the world. One of the greatest voice actors too. Astarion is such a perfect character. Hope to see Neil in more stuff :D
I've never played multiplayer, so I'm so used to the companions being automatically grouped that I was as thrown off as Tom when you realized "Shit, Lae'zel is still right where we first met her!". I'm used to having to ungroup characters to get them to certain spots stealthily.
So much of it comes down to luck, and one of the fireball-spitting heads isn't even disarmable because rubble blocks you from getting close enough. Turn based mode is the only way to do it when all the important rolls fail 😂 either to loot and leave, or trigger the trap and hit the button next to it in the same turn
Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm here for the "oops!" type situations. I played this room in multi-player with my husband and a friend one night and was just very confused as to why my friend was covering the vents with things and I was like... WHY ARE WE NOT DISARMING THEM? I realize it was a failsafe now. That same night, however, that same friend totally blew me up when fighting the bandits, so like... her intentions are super sus to me. I think I've been generally lucky in some of my playthroughs, though... except this last one which all I can say is "wrong lever". All that to say... listen, I was popping popcorn when the traps got set off in this.
You are so fun to watch!!! Astarion is BELOVED in the bg3 community. He’s my favorite character of the whole game! Your incredible acting brought his character to life 😊
Watching Neil has really made me appreciate voice actors and actors in general, turning these 2d characters into 3d characters that we love. Can anyone imagine another voice for Astarion? For me no because its the actors that bring these characters truly to life. Actors might be completely different people to what they voice act or act, but there has to be a connection between actor and character for the audience to truly fall in love with a character. So thank you for your part Neil, in bringing Astarion to us.❤
I already loved the game, but seeing all the people who did the voices and their passion has just elevated it to another level! The world and the freedom of choice was always phenomenal .. but to finally play a game that deep dives into the characters and has genuine character development has been refreshing to say the least!
Don't play BG3 currently (eventually I will), so been catching RUclips playthroughs and here I landed lol. This has been a joy to watch, and the fan art I've seen on tumblr *chef's kiss* Astarion could def read me the yellow pages, but Neil could too with a few F boms thrown in 😂😂
I am having the most stressful time at work but having this play in the background has made me so happy 💖 thank you for sharing this! You did a great job and we all love this game so much 🥰
I'm taking what feels like forever on my first playthrough because not only do I read ALL the readable things, but I'm also taking pretty much everything that isn't nailed down (and won't get me jumped by someone). It's made for a nice stack of gold, selling peoples' own table settings back to them. :D
Been watching these on Twitch and as soon as a new VOD drops I have to watch it asap! The chaos and contrast between Neil and Tom’s characters is so hilarious I can’t stop laughing. You guys are both amazing and endlessly entertaining! Thank you Neil for all the hard work you put into bringing Astarion alive. I love all the companions but he is by far my favorite in the game! I cannot stop playing BG3 and it has been consuming the majority of my free time. I expect this trend will continue until Dragon Age 4 drops even though I kinda wanna try Starfield too 😂
yay, another episode! Thanks for sharing your experience with us Neil, I love Astarion's character. I'm playing a character loosely based around MCU Thor, and Astarion as an Arcane Trickster is my "Loki". He often disagrees with my approach and calls me a drip for not letting him have any fun, but we respect each other.
This has been really nice to have on in the background while I am writing. Thank you for posting these streams here for us. It's been a pleasure watching them so far.
"Oh, there's a door at the other end of the chamber. Let's come back for the door, we'll come back for the door later." That trap will still be going off. That's gonna be chaos. 🤦🏻😂
Super awesome to watch the VA for what is probably my favourite voiced character in the whole game. Favourite line delivery 'Hardly a Challenge' when he goes to lockpick. It's just UBER British/Posh
Ok I'm only halfway through this one bus had to comment on how funny it is to hear Neil saying "Tom No." Like he is training a dog when he is showing Tom where to go to do the pincer attack. I have been on work calls with my boss and heard the same tone when she is telling her dog not to do something 🤣 good luck with the attack I hope it goes well 🤞
I love the quick saves. I hold the title of unluckiest player for dice rolls. (my dm took pity on me for several nat 1 rolls earlier) so let me reroll when. I got another nat 1. . 7 re rolls before i got a nat 20. Our whole party had never seen that much nat 1s in a row. Needless to say we were all in stitches 😂😂😂
I'm so excited to see these on RUclips, I keep missing the streams as they start super early in the morning here in Australia, been enjoying what I can find on twitch VODs but this is so much more convenient 😊
I finally got some time to dive into BG3. Just caught some amazing scenes with Astarion. Love to see this LP. Cool to see Neil jump right into the game. Love the character. Loving the playthrough so far.
I'm sitting watching the video with a stupid smile, thanks for the positive! The very fact that the creator and his creation meet makes one giggle. So much love for your work, Astarion turned out amazingly alive, deserving of love, despite the fangs)
Neil you really need a good quality headset or microphone at least! We wanna hear you better :D Awesome to watch you play and outstanding voice acting! Fell in love with Astarion in an instant (need more romance interactions :D).
Thank you so much for the second episode ❤ finished watching the first one yesterday and it was awesome! Cancelling all the plans to spend this evening with you 😁😁😁

1:30:20 - Neil reading Astarion's underwear in his voice 😂
1:47:59 - "Haaa!! I got a book!"
1:48:17 - "It doesn't mean we're _engaged_ or anything, darling~"
44:07 As someone who's in the closing acts of our 3 year-ish long Curse of Strahd campaign, I can confirm that Strahd would in-fact NOT put up with any of this shit.
You all did such an amazing job of quite literally breathing life into these characters. This game will be cherished for years to come, thank you ♥
Damn, I feel very validated LMFAO. As an Astarion lover who also chose a half, wood elf druid, who is circle of the moon.
Loved you soooo much as Astarion! You're very talented and I'm really glad you're having fun with the game. Sending much love from Brazil
I love that they let you send stuff directly from your inventory to camp vs having to physically to go camp.
They must’ve known that a lot of players will absolutely go through every box and chest they can so it would be annoying to constantly go to camp just to get rid of some weight until you get to a shop to sell
Honestly, the part where Astarion dissociate during the visit to the twins broke me. Great storytelling.
- Cheers!
my favorite Astarion line is when he rejects you: "it's not you, it's me... i have standards."
astarion is a great character but i feel that your performance as him really elevated him to a new level for me. i love hearing you interact with the game!
Astarion meeting astarion was something I never knew I needed, thank you Neil😭🙏
I just started watching this and was hoping there’s more parts only to go to his RUclips page and see they’re on part 38. I’m so happy
Astarion romancing Astarion possibly lmfao????
I'd be so down for that. 😂
Then my friends were like "hey come play this game with us" so I bought it. And the MOMENT I set foot on land (or to be more precise, weird flesh ship) I was 8 years old again. I was literally crying in excitement, regaling my friends with lore they never even knew they wanted to know hahaha! When I saw a certain "old traveller" I literally screamed so loud my neighbors came to see if everything was ok >.>;
I'm excited again. I've picked up a pencil again and have started making twitch emotes and character portraits and concept art for my friends DND campaign.
Anywho, enough rambling from some rando.... just know your work is appreciated more than you might know
Watching this just reminds me to explore everything. One of the books even has a nod to the OG Baulder's Gate game if you read it.
It was SUCH a blast to watch you play and enjoy the game and I look forward to seeing more playthrough! x
It’s so audibly trippy hearing Austarian and Neil talk almost at the same time my mind is warping.
Honestly the best duo where one loves chaos, and the other wants peace! Cannot wait to see how this develops 😂
Why is every charator i fall in love with played by you! 😂 first kamski then Heisenberg and now Astarion. Feels like im on the truman show
Neil's saltiness when he couldn't talk to the others in camp...but at least he got a chance to chat with our boi! 😆
Enjoying the shenanigans, they're making my initial restless nights of university assignments tolerable. 💖
GaH!!!! Astarion!!!! He's my favorite sad boi ever! Thanks for doing this Neil and Tom! I love all the extra Astarion lines you are throwing in btw. Thank you for bringing Astarion alive with you amazing acting and mo cap work! Love the stream!!!!
When astarion crying , I am crying too
That was best scene in my play
Thank you neil ❤️
I love how he can't help but use Astarion's voice whenever he hears the character talk. He just falls back into it out of habit haha.
So sad I missed this! It's awesome that you appreciate the game. Not many VAs would be willing or invested to play a game they did work on. I love it so much and have put in about 160 hours now 😳. It's been worth every second though
Neil being just as chaotic as Astarion this playthrough 😂👌🏻
I love how both of them are like, "we have no idea what we're doing. We're just two nerds having fun playing an awesome game."
It's so much fun watching you both play ❤ Neil channeling Astarion energy trying to keep the best goodies for himself and "accidentally" damaging friends.
It's so interesting seeing what choices you make (on abilities and convos).
This is so great, and what I love with BG3, you learn new things, and see new dialogue or situations all the time.
this is so CUTE, i mean ive seen VAs play their own game before, but something about Astarion and Neil, it's like so fun and FRESH HELLO. (also i am a gay man so i think you guys get it)
It took me awhile to realize that you can pick up and use backpacks you find. It’s so obvious but finally trying that was a game changer for my inventory game
I love Astarion so much 🥹 his story is just amazing. thank you for bringing him to life and giving so much of yourself to him Neil ❤️
I have never set off the sarcophagus trap in my multiple playthroughs and I am amazed that this was managed to such horribly epic proportions...
All that to say... listen, I was popping popcorn when the traps got set off in this.
from the first second of hearing Astarion's dulcet tones, i have cast him in my head as dr. Frank N'Furter.
Every time he slips into Astarion mode it gives Tim Curry vibes
Thank you so much for uploading these here too. I LOVE UUU ❤️
The world and the freedom of choice was always phenomenal .. but to finally play a game that deep dives into the characters and has genuine character development has been refreshing to say the least!
thank you for uploading for those who can't watch you live bc of time zones
I was waiting for this! Watched the first episode and enjoyed it a lot. This episode is what I really needed this evening.
I love that they each came up with whole backstories for each of their characters! That really solidifies some of the character choices I think.
Enjoying this playthrough a lot so far, Neil's energy and excitement really make this a delight to watch.
I expect this trend will continue until Dragon Age 4 drops even though I kinda wanna try Starfield too 😂
Ever since buying BG3 I've been glued to the cast playing it alongside me 😂
I love your excitement Neil and Tom, It's clear that you love this game as much as the players do! I'm really enjoying Astarion meeting Astarion lol
yay, another episode!
I love the fact that Niel shows about as much interest and want for Gale around as Astarion does 🤣🤣 and the match in chaos I love this
LOVED THIS!! 😍😍
Also how Neil dips in and out of the Astarion character is just Amazing!! 😍😍
Scott
🤓🤓
"Oh, there's a door at the other end of the chamber. Let's come back for the door, we'll come back for the door later." That trap will still be going off. That's gonna be chaos. 🤦🏻😂
I'm going to need to hear Neil say "shenanigans" as Astarion (please).
My meeting with Astarion was a little more rocky than this, he put that dagger right up to my throat 😂
Yayyyy I love watching you guys play. Astarion is my favorite character and your commentary is lovely ❤
"That's the kind of DM I am." I'd love to have Neil as a DM. Would Goosetarion be an option for a cleric's deity? Or perhaps a warlock's patron?
i swear Astarion is a mix of Zevran (DA), Frankenfruter, and Reaver from Fable
Thanks to this game I'm now such a big fan of Neil. He seems so much fun!
Playing baldurs gate and listening to these 2 on a seperate monitor is so fun just gotta remember to look over if i hear astarion
I have been on work calls with my boss and heard the same tone when she is telling her dog not to do something 🤣 good luck with the attack I hope it goes well 🤞
"We should loot their weapons... cuz... they don't need them anymore... " wink wink.
Fuck yes! I’m so ready for pt 2!
But this is part 2! Unless you have disavowed the previous part because Astarion hasn’t been added to the party yet, then yer also right.
@@malcovich_games I think they just mean theyre ready for this video
I love the quick saves. I hold the title of unluckiest player for dice rolls. (my dm took pity on me for several nat 1 rolls earlier) so let me reroll when. I got another nat 1.
. 7 re rolls before i got a nat 20.
Our whole party had never seen that much nat 1s in a row.
Needless to say we were all in stitches 😂😂😂
Dice jail
We wanna hear you better :D
Awesome to watch you play and outstanding voice acting! Fell in love with Astarion in an instant (need more romance interactions :D).
Thank you so much for the second episode ❤ finished watching the first one yesterday and it was awesome! Cancelling all the plans to spend this evening with you 😁😁😁
"We took care of Warren; we don't know who Warren was... he may have been a good person, but he's dead now." 🤣🤣🤣
