I love how everyone conveniently forgets that the Earth Ponies used to be Jacked AF. I mean, they could punch trees over if they wanted.
It kinda sucks how that was glossed over in the movie (and in the shorts and special).
Heck, they could have had Hitch accidentally kick over that huge tree as a reference to Earth Pony strength.

I feel like the movie makers listened a little TOO much to the fans...
The G4 fandom often misinterpreted earth ponies as magicless... Yet earth ponies have inherent super strength, and an affinity for growing plants.
I would've guessed the Pegasai had the better physical abilities. I mean, have you SEEN Snowflake from Gen 4? That guy was freaking RIPPED!
It amuses me that the whole thing with the tennis ball actually would probably help if the pegasi captured a unicorn.. Because if unicorns don't have magic, their only other means of deadly attack would be to use their horn to stab and impale someone. So in a way, the Pegasi failed their task.. successfully!
Also, when Sunny told Izzy to be careful with 'that thing', she didn't need that whole unicorn lazer beams explanation. Izzy almost poked her eye out!

I love how much of a tradition this has become for me: to put on my neon Pinkie Pie t-shirt, gather my plushies into my living-room, grab a giant buritto with guacamole (extra expensive for an extra special milestone), grab a couple beers, tell my family I won't be responsive for 2 hours and watch the Bronies React live. I can't do half of that now because I've moved across the world, different time zone and all, but I'm doing my best to stick with it. This is my religion :p
Been doing the same thing since 2012 when i first saw their bronies react to kids react to mlp. But i rather grab some tortilla chips with some hot dip sauce its perfect if you like to drink a lot of beer :)

It would hilarious if in the series it turns out that the other species (Dragons, Changelings, etc.) not only had magic the entire time, but also lived after the teachings of Friendship.

It would be equally hilarious if the ponies started to fall back into their speciest ways so all the other creatures just dipped and stayed friends just without the ponies till the ponies got a kick of the arse to be better after losing their magic.

Sunny disrupting Izzy's attempt at a tea party is a really important moment that is kinda overlooked in the film. Sunny is all about the bigger mission, whilst Izzy wants to enjoy the little moments. That could be an interesting character dynamic to explore in the future show.

I was so happy to see that even though Izzy is super cheerful and friendly, she still suffers from self-doubt and depression. It adds such an honest and meaningful ripple to her character, and it happens a lot in real life too. The biggest smiles often hide the biggest tears.

@@pap-fr by the attitude in your original comment, it seems less like you're concerned about other people's mental health and more like you just think it's cringe. But less address the mental health point, since you brought it up: a vast majority of otherkin are already neurodivergent or mentally ill in some way, and a lot of them have Dissociative Identity Disorder. I've come to understand kin as a coping mechanism, and one that is on the less harmful side of the list, since it hurts no one (I'm gonna need a reputable source on that claim that it's bad for your mental health btw).
I'm not a psychologist, I have no right to claim what is or isn't bad for someone but I am firmly on teams "let people live" and "cringe culture sucks" (I'm a furry, a brony, a weeb, and I'm autistic and trans about it. If I were judgemental about something it'd be extremely hypocritical of me).
That is to say: let people live.
I think the most interesting thing about Izzy is while she shares a lot of mannerisms with Pinkie, she seemed to have inherited Rarity's creative spirit with all the things she made in the movie and at her house.
They're right about the DDR scene. In the original, Alphabittle challenged all of them but Pipp was the only one that beat him. It wasn't Sunny. They squashed it down due to rune time reasons.
Really? That.. would've made the DDR scene a lot better. Shame it was cut.
But if it was for run time reasons they could've just made it so Pipp was the only one who danced instead of Sunny. Or make it so Sunny danced for the 1st and 2nd time, but seeing as she wasn't winning, they decided to let Pipp do it. Alphabittle would let that slide due to how certain he is he would win.
So they probably had other reasons too. One of them probably being "Sunny is the main character, she needs to be the one who wins". Or idk.
I didn’t know that, and I wish we could have seen that scene. Pity they couldn’t have cut the scene down by just having each pony do one round of DDR instead of having Sunny do all three rounds.

This is so exciting for seeing Bronies react back in 2022. This is going to be fun, filled with laughs, and funny jokes.

I always personally liked diving into technical details when I can, but hopefully it didn't bore to many people (I'm sure some people that follow me know I could talk for hours and hours on end just talking about small portions of the movie if I really wanted to).
I'm curious how people thought of all that.
It was great, it adds diversity to the reactions and your observations were really on point (especially the one about how the second song was using strategic shots to avoid exposing the background).

Some people are confused about the gems. The gems need the magic of friendship in order to be magic. Friendship is brought together to spark magic back up, the gems are there to harness the magic created to them ignite the entire system. Like powering up a console before firing up the game

Agreed. In the past, it seemed to give them super strength/affinity over plants, but this gen seems to be fine without such, so i'm highly curious as to what it's nature will be this time around.

If they bring back sea ponies, I hope they get a overhaul design that make them dolphin ponies or kelpies or something like that. G4 didn't do enough with the land, SEA, and sky setup.

Wasn’t until 2015 when Season 5 was still fairly new. I caught MLP from there due to one episode The Mane Attraction.

the "feels like the first time huh" had me good. i started watching these as an 11 year old tomboy, and on this year as i turn 18 and step into womanhood i am so happy i still get to carry these happy memories, and have professional bronies as my idols. i love all of you guys with my entire heart and wish the best upon all of you. lets all enjoy the new generation. and hope hitch x sunny becomes canon lol
i feel that. watched the first ep as a 9 year old kid, watching it cause it ws on and nightmare moon's design was cool. 12 years, 9 seasons, and more lessons that my anti-social self needed than i can count and here we are. back where we started. a group of friends in a childish but in the fun way piece of media. i feel like they learned a lot from gen 4. they know how far they can push it, but are still pulling back a bit to start since you have to draw new customers in. i can't wait to see what comes next.
I’m one of those bronies that joined in late (the start of season 5), was very interested in the show and fandom (though I was more of a lurker if anything) and slowly dropped off around season 6. I think I remember seeing the promos for season 9, years later, and how sad it all was. I don’t know why I stopped watching, I wasn’t bored or burnt out, so I have no idea (maybe someone else will know). I eventually came back, waiting till Christmas to get a better PC to play Halo Infinite’s campaign, and thought “Hey, to avoid spoilers, let me indulge in something else.” In comes little shy’s video on the G5 movie (after being recommended to me a bajillion times), and I’ve been sucked back into the fandom/community ever since.
Can’t wait to see what g5 has in store, even after the special and shorts, I hope the actual series turns out well and I look forward to the future members of the fandom thanks to this generation.

Honestly it makes sense that the dynamic Littleshy talks about no longer holds up. The events that took place before the three tribes united took place AT LEAST one thousand years before the events of G4. It's been at the very least a few centuries between the end of G4 and the start of G5. The ponies have modern technology, which means that they probably already discovered a way to do large-scale farming with machinery. The inability of pegasi and unicorns to grow crops as fast as earth ponies do matters jack shit when they're planting seeds by the millions. Why would they still hold that old dynamic when technology has rendered the sole thing that kept earth ponies relevant useless?
While not as drastic anymore, the increased ability in agriculture would make otherwise barren lands capable of supporting a population, so if anywhere, desert climates probably would have a different view of earth ponies

Many people headcanon the mane five representing the elements/characters they’re most like from FiM, but personally (based on their actions in the movie) I headcanon them as:
Hitch - Loyalty
Sunny - Kindness
Zipp - Honesty
Izzy - Laughter
Pipp - Generosity
Then, as a whole, they all represent Magic seeing as there’s five and not six of them. And Sprout is Starlight Glimmer.
It’s interesting to see what species are gonna appear in the show, too, like changelings. Reformed or unreformed? Yaks, dragons, hippogriffs, where were they?
Maybe in the show, a new draconequus makes an appearance to replace Discord, seeing as he’s probably gone as magical spirit himself?
The way I see it, Hasbro doesn't want to focus on other creatures for they may take over the franchise as much as what happened in MLP: FiM Seasons 8 & 9.

It would have been so fun if after all the "dad is dead" and "Disney dad treatment" that in end of the movie the dad just showed up. Like he was on a business or research trip something. Just him showing up, seeing his house broken. All the viewers would have been so shocked

I hope that the Fandom names the male Derpy clone we see throughout the film "Herpy." It just fits thematically. "Herp a-derp."
You know, upon rewatching this, I actually found myself getting ridiculously saddened when Paleo pointed out the Tree of Harmony, because, think about it.
For what we saw to be the Tree of Harmony, that would've been the near top of it because of how tall the tree became after it grew back, meaning, unbeknownst to the Mane 5, they were walking ON TOP of what used to be the Everfree Forest, since you can't get near the tree without going in the forest first.
Even the Everfree Forest has been essentially erased from Equestria, being buried in the ground after the unknown number of centuries that have passed between G4 and G5 and that got me really down for some reason.
The Everfree being completely buried to the point ponies can just trot along on the surface of what buried it without a care in the world, got me really sad
The forest is cursed, it's better for it to die.
Huge appreciation for the editing. Having to go through all the clips, seeing what commentary fits. Keeping it entertaining to view. This came out a year ago as of writing this and I still come back to these relaxations for comfort and enjoy all the work put into it every time. All the creators are amazing. ❤❤❤❤❤

If you think about it, Pipp is basically living the best life out of all the characters in the movie, certainly in regards to the mane 5, she's really just got everything going for her. At lest before they reveal she cant fly, but even then things will probably be fine

I thoroughly agree with them all. This is a fantastic start to G5. Absolutely enjoyed the react too. Happy to see them all again. I'd say during "Angry Mob" at the headbanging scene when Dusty was headbanging with a blonde wig, i re-watched that bit like 10 times. It's so hilarious!
I've always found the people in Bronies React to be the most optics-friendly representation of the fandom.

1:22:07 Honestly I felt the same seeing this the first time. RD was always my favorite so seeing her life long goal just in ruins and forgotten… legitimately heartbreaking.

Honestly? To me that was a genuine question, from what we can tell from context, Sunny has pulled this same stunt over and over again every year at canterlogic for some time now. To the point where she had been banned from the place for her actions. Hitch, who is the town sheriff, has a job to uphold, and knowing his friend has constantly been taking advantage of his kindness and unwillingness to put her in cuffs, must be getting grading.
It's like being in the army but your spouse uses your ranks as a way to bully and mistreat people because of your status. Sunny, in a way, is doing that when she does these preeches, knowing she isn't permitted to be there but knows she can get away with it because Hitch won't punish her due to their friendship.
Heck, even in that very scene after speaking to her, he walks away to let her go free once again because despite all the laws she broke he can't bear the sight of his best friend sitting in jail for something she truly believes in. He makes a valid point to her, saying she needs to prove her case that other pony races aren't something to be feared but the way she continues to bulldoze over him and pull these stunts makes him question if this cause she has no proof for is really more important than their friendship.
"I'm the last real friend you got in this town." Is a true statement, everyone else thinks she's just an embarrassment to herself or perhaps even deem her as crazy. "Do you really want to lose me too?" This question is genuine, as by now Hitch is at his wits end with Sunny's antics. Sooner or later people will complain about her misdeeds and want something done about her and by that point he won't be able to save her. And would he even want to after all his leenency with her has only given her free passes to disrupt the peace, tresspass and vandalize things? If anyone is extorting anyone because of friendship, it's Sunny.

Exactly! Almost everyone is taking Sunny's side here because we know she's in the right, but from Hitch's perspective she just broke his trust, everyone in that town truly believes that Unicorns and Pegasi are dangerous due to years of propaganda, hitch unfortunately was also a victim to such false information, so to him, she's basically just saying Nonsense, He could've gotten FIRED because he failed to stop her from trespassing, he's had enough, he's been too much of a push over for her, and he just doesn't think that risking his job over her "nonsense" beliefs is worth it anymore, but we see that even though he's clearly mad at her, he let's her down gently, (if I was in his position I honestly would've been soo pissed at my friend) he just can't risk everything he's worked for, for her, and it's honestly reasonable
I feel like i missed out so much by only joining the fandom recently, but ive been having so much fun on it and the giantic amounts of content there is, i was really excited to see this video pop up and it was a lot of fun to watch, thank you all

@@emperorbelos6835 he commented that in one of the reacts (I think it was when they reacted to the season 1 opener) that it was going take awhile because of October (most mlp content creators are busy during that time of year especially lost and crew) and that since it’s a movie so it would take a longer to get the footage. I fully expected it to come out late January or early February because the series is set to air in fall.

(REGARDLESS of what one thinks, likes OR dislikes about MYM and how it has been handled lately, that is a discussion for another time. 😂😂)

The thing about this Bronies React is, I only caught a glimpse of this being discussed at a panel in Comic-Con: Special Edition in November 2021.
It was the only MLP-related panel I saw on the line-up that time.
So wicked to see Race and the gang resume for G5!
This G5 film is like a cross between Onward and Raya and the Last Dragon in terms of theme and story respectively.

It took me a while to finally watch the movie, and I gotta say, props to the animators and model artists. They did a really good job, especially during the campfire scene because you can see the fire reflecting in all of their eyes when it should. And the ear movements better portray the emotions than Disney ever could
Spike deserves better rep! He was my favourite in G4 now he’s only a plushie in the background while the mane 6 gets a whole animated opening!
