I have soo many guys telling me that my 09 500r is underpowered. Staggeringly so..."oh its a 500...should have bought a 600." Idk what they heard but this bike friggin zips!!! Its my first bike, im 35 years old, and dont have a death wish. I live in ohio and in 3 days the cold will break and the precipitation will stop so I can get back on my baby, I love love love this bike!!! Its not underpowered, it is extremely responsive to pushes and leans, and if you are the type of person who grew up looking at ninjas thinking "wow!" This is it. GREAT BIKE...JUST...GREAT!!! Excellent review my man.
I have a 2000 Ninja 500 and with a change of exhaust, air filter, and jet I have hit roughly 125 on a couple occasions. This bike will get you there. I have had mine for a year now and I love it.
Awesome review Dan! And the bike looks and sounds great.
Just bought a 1996 today. You’re not the only one that likes that seating position. I love it, fun little bike!
Thank you so much for your video 🙂
I'm looking at a 2002 that's practically brand new with under 2000 miles as my first bike. I love the look of these bikes, easily one of my favorites.
Hey Dan, I did fix a Pixley, gutted one and put in an F4, fun little LOS flyer. Keep on keeping on dude. I own a K75 BMW that now needs work.
It is super nimble and comfortable with tight curves canyon carving, it is extremely fun, especially for the buck. It is a parallel twin. I go 110 without even noticing, it effortlessly goes 118, it goes 120 but I keep it under 115, every weekend...😊
It did have a restyle in the 1990s and it’s not a v-twin it’s a parallel twin, smooth enough in its power band and not too bad down the revs, but gutless below the power band
I have 2004 ninja 500r with a 9inch delkevic exhuast and it has no problem hitting 115. I’ve been up to 123 mph with it as well.
Part about learning the bike and carbs too true I have the 02 didn’t know that about dealers DIY for sure fun but not if you don’t wanna learn
They call it a parallel twin. Thinking of getting on myself Perfect bike for my daughter to start off on
I’m gonna buy one for 1800 tomorrow
I’ll do a review on its old brother buster…..1991 Kawasaki ex500 ALTHOUGH ITS IN THE 20s here in central PA 🥶
“Never like to just hop on a bike and tear ass”😂
Just got a 06 500r looks brand new. But the engine needs a new topend. Its was less than 400 bucks just wondering who tou go to for quality parts
Ive had a 2006 500r sitting in a completely taken apart stage for years and I’m getting it built up as I’m told it will run I’m taking my course to learn to ride but I’m wondering if I should sell it for something different any suggestions?
Looking at a 05 ninja 500 new brakes, clutch, rear tire, mirrors, blinkers & aftermarket exhaust for $2500 with 20k miles. Good deal?
How’s the storage situation under the seat? For insurance and whatnot.
