Oil the boots and slide on. Loosen the airbox if needed boots are cheap if they are way out of shape. You got this!

Yeah I try to refrain from using oil because the petroleum base breaks down the rubber That's what makes them brittle. But yes it's already been solved

Did a set the other day, was wayyyyyy easier to remove the air box than it looks.

So you'd have removed the airbox prior to removing the carbs? I'm about to be doing this same thing and want to figure out if I could skip out on all that annoying part he did to set it back in

It's not even worth taking the time or effort to remove the airbox. The carbs just pop right out with a pull.

Hey bud i literally just bought an 09 ninja 500 and having issues with keeping it running for more than a few seconds. My research is leaning towards a carb cleaning too. I've never done any work on a carb before. If i use this method i don't have to retune anything right?
