Narcix 16 I’m a beginner rider as well, but in my year and a half of driving, I’ve done that much mechanical work on cars that this is nothing to me lol
Yeah that’s what I thought too but the shops never responded back to me and stated that I have a single carb. I have 2. So they were telling me false info and never got back to me with an invoice. Just said f it and started taking the bike apart to get to the carb. Fairly straightforward. Only hard part was getting the air box out imo.
If you want stiff wire for cleaning jets you can buy a wire brush with long brushes like for welding and pull a section of the wires out with pliers. Copper wire is too soft.
@@emmettturner9452 I am 50 years old and have been using stiff wire brush bristles on carburetors since I was 8 years old. It works and there have never been any issues. No disrespect. I am just telling you what I have used and it is cheap and readily available.

Edwin Martinez thanks for watching if you liked the video don’t forget to subscribe I also will make more bike and car videos as the weather gets better here, it’s currently freezing with snow on the ground not really a good time to work on cars and bikes but ya
Mo’s World sick! I’ll look out for the new videos. I also have a 2008 ninja 250 she’s got a little over 5k miles and it might be time to clean the carb since I have to keep the choke slightly on because the bike would run at a very low rpm and then stall out when I’m stopped. I guess that’s why they went to fuel injectors for the newer ninjas
Edwin Martinez maybe try adjusting the idle rpm speed, once the bike is warmed up shut the choke all the way and adjust the idle by turning it. And put it around 1500, if that doesn’t work you can always try fuel system cleaner. I use an entire can of b12 chemtool even though it says use only a few cap fulls. But I use it before I go an a long ride so I put put the chemical fill up and ride until I have to fill up again it should clear up some minor stuff in the carbs. I don’t think it’s really necessary for you to take your carbs apart for something that small.
Where does Ur clear(yellow) line go to on the bike?? I have the 2 lines that hook up to the fuel tank but then I have another line that I don't know where it goes and I think that's why the bike won't start,, if u use starting fluid it'll start right up..till it burns off the starting fluid then it dies .. Iv cracked the bowel screw on both carbs and both of them are getting gas and the floats are working as they should but I don't seem to be getting gas from the bowels into the combustion chamber,,the slides and diaphragms all look good carbs were cleaned out cause it sat in a shed for 10 yrs and they wouldn't get gas at all so I used wire and cleaned out the jets floats ect .. then they started getting gas and filling up the bowels but it still won't start or run on its own

I'm working on a 04 250ninja right now and all I haf to do to remove the carbs was take the back and front boots off the carb and unhooked all the cables and hoses took off the tank and pulled the carb out the right side of the bike
You can probably find a forwarding service to buy from North America on eBay. They give you an American forwarding address. Of course, it cheaper/easier if you have a friend in America who can buy them and send them off to you in Nigeria.
Thea Rupert that yellow hose is called the fuel overflow drain hose, it doesn’t go anywhere and doesn’t suck air in. It’s if the carbs take in too much gas it dumps it out the side of the bike so the carbs don’t choke them selves with gas, you don’t have to remove it or clean it I would just leave it because it could be annoying to get it back on . Unless your line got damaged but if it’s Intact don’t remove it.
Thea Rupert it just dumps it out the side of the bike to the floor this line only works if there’s a problem like you flooded the carbs or there’s too much gas inside the carbs and it can’t run so the carbs just dump it on the floor the yellow hose is long enough that it gets dumped near your right foot. If you look closely you’ll also have 2 more hoses near your right foot / rear break one is called the coolant overflow and the other one holds any oil that the crank case just got rid off these 3 hoses are routed near the floor and just get dumped on the floor. It’s not a big amount of fluid it’s just tiny little drops and you never notice it unless you take the carb off and forget to drain them and tilt the carb to the side gas will come out that hose
If your ninja is a 250, 160kph is around the top speed nothing wrong with them. But if you have a higher cc bike and you feel like it’s lacking power you can run a fuel additive to clean the carbs and it might help
@@MosWrld100 my ninja 250 is capable of hitting 180 flat ground. my friend hit 180 the other day. but my bike isnt in the greatest shape. carbs probably havent been cleaned.

Keep in mind that anything stiffer than the metals used in the carb are going to scratch it. That’s why people recommend brass wire.
