Good advice! BTW I've owned my 1998 ZX6RG2 since 2000 same look as your 9R except mine is purple/black. It's mostly been my second bike and so has only done about 15K miles. It's seriously perfect "despite" its age. It's a great bike and to be honest has better quality paint on the hangers, fittings, brackets, wheels, etc than my bought new 2017 ZZR1400 PS! The message is clear, don't be afraid of or write off old bikes :)

My 2003 F2 Silver was my favorite sports bike ever. When I bought it it came with a Yoshi can too. I quickly swapped it with a stock titanium can which worked just fine. They are great all-rounders especially for taller folk such as myself as I rode all around the state of California and into adjourning states.

I wouldn't allow a test drive without the cash in my hand.😊

If this bike is the same as the 636 of the same era it's equipped with a starter lockout switch which prevents the electric starter from operating when the clutch is engaged and the transmission is not in neutral.

Your clutch switch could be backwards. It's not bad though and it's easy to flip it back around. Good way to test is does it start in gear with the clutch in? If not in gear and in neutral it only starts with clutch out try taking the switch out and putting it in the other way around

As someone that just passed my CBT, this video could not have come at a better time. I'm looking to get my full unrestricted in the next month, so this should be very, very useful.

Never buy a bike without a test ride, not would I expect to let the owner hold cash until I'd decided to buy it. If they don't trust you or quibble about a ride then walk away.

      Keep them clean

Debris on the polished parts get wiped by the lip seal with each compression causing wear. That and dryrot from outdoor storage are the biggest contributors.
