This kind of scenario (passed a mythic top 2-3 cards uber bomb) always makes me want to figure out what the person who opened the pack could have picked, because it seems like you can narrow your options quite a bit, and if they have that kind of bomb, it's nice to know it if you end up facing them.
Passing the card they did means they are either scared of first picking gold cards, or they don't actually understand what Xanathar does. The general perception is that blue is bad, so also possible they don't want to get trapped.
That entire Commander conversation was so painful. Not because LSV dislikes Commander - his points are valid. But listening to him have to keep defending himself for having preferences just makes me so annoyed. Why can't chat understand what the phrases "I feel like" and "My preference is" mean?
I'm guessing either didnt read the card, or they're someone who forces a specific archetype every time. Theres no possible card that they could have picked that's better imo
@@johnmcdonald4881 To be clear, I meant no better card in that spot. Because theres only one rare per pack, then lymrith couldn't have been chosen. Point being, they clearly made a bad pick no matter what card it was.

All of my big win decks have been blue so far. Blue/black mostly so maybe the black carried it but I love having access to a red hate spell and a pretty decent combat trick in Shocking Grasp. Also, Blue Dragon is bigger than the other color dragons.
Xanathar is similar to smokestacks, in that you do not allow you opponent to play games of magic. If there's a land on top, you let them keep it, if there isn't you play it, locking them out of the game.
It happens later in the video. To be fair though, it's still definitely NOT the title + description I would have chosen since it's such a weird arbitrary spoiler that ruins some of the surprise.
