- It's no secret that we are paying higher than ever for fuel while the overall quality continues to suffer. The ethanol in today's fuel breaks down the fuel at a rapid rate causing a lower octane. When you have a built motor designed for 93 octane and the fuel has time to break down, this leaves room for error and possible motor damage. I have found that 12.5:1 is the limit for pump fuel and is possible for operation under racing conditions or trail riding, however, if the fuel has time to break down, pre-detonation will occur. Therefore, I have decided to run a blend of VP 110. Having VP 110, I decided to do some testing and tuning!! Hope you guys love it! RAPTOR 700 TESTING! Does VP 110 Race Fuel Increase Top Speed? Megatron is now a 734 Big Bore (ATHENA) w/ 12.5:1 piston on 93 octane! Also, sporting a PC5, Monster Full System Exhaust, and FCI intake!
The peak horsepower was only a 12 HP gain but the HP at overrev was over a 25+ HP gain!! That's crazy!!!! This is why the climb to 80 MPH was much quicker than before plus the overall speed increased by 6 MPH.
The quad has factory gearing with the exception of the smaller 19 inch tires.

I think 93 is iffy for sure on a raptor with 12.5. Should work, but as you are seeing, if everything is not perfect, it knocks. The VP110 should allow for a more aggressive tune with no knocking. Things a beast!!
Top speed has to do with engine speed (rpm) final drive gear ratio and tire size. Pretty sure in theory if you were able to hit the rev limiter on 93 top speed wouldn't change going to vp110 although your acceleration may have changed
Yes your theory is correct That is if I was hitting the rev limiter. However I'm not hitting the rev limiter as I am pushing around low 8,000 RPMs the quad can spin up to 9,000 RPMs given it has the power to push it to those RPMs.

Important🔴 , important🔴, important Amigatron‼️ Why didn't you measure the compression ratio by installing a pressure gauge on the engine head and then pressing the engine start button for 5 to 7 seconds? Just as you conducted a test on your engine after it had
spent sixty hours of operation. Then l suggest that you install the Stage 3 cam and check the pressure again... If the pressure decreases due to the cam, this is a good indicator of the use of the fuel pump...
Then compare the 3 measurements that you took the first time, then after installing 12.5, and then after installing the Stage 3
cam.
Unless you have a 14:1 compression your not really gonna make a difference just better off saving your money

Bro you need hotcam stage 3 and bore stock TB and you will gain 8-10hp..that 734 need +2 head not stock head.

I do 86 MPH whit big 3 (gytr intake, hmf full , pc5. 15/37 gear.
This years big changement! Dasa full , fci intake , throttle body 47mm and hot cam stg2! I try my top speed soon:)

You need a tune to take advantage of the 110 octane. Additionally, wouldn't hurt to throw some ngk Iridium plug.

Beautiful raptor man! I picked up a 2020 and it had a armadillo case saver on it. The armadillo uses the three bolts from the ignition cover, as well as the stock case saver bolts. My question is when i took the armadillo off to swap to a DRW, their was some little aluminum shavings in those ignition cover bolt holes which really made me scared. I was wondering if those bolt holes lead into the engine or not and could cause failure. I dont want to put any more money in it if potentially its got aluminum shavings inside the motor. Thanks in advance!

Times are changing, law enforcement is becoming much more relaxed on ATVs and side by sides. Although it is still illegal, in the state of Florida with the exception of two counties you can ride on public roads as long as it's not blacktop.

Have you ever tested top speed with someone lighter on the quad? Mine has a stage 3 cam monster exhaust and FCI. And i do 92mph stock gearing.

I just bought a Raptor as my first ATV since I was a kid and this way faster than I was expecting lol. Throttle so touchy compared to my old old yamaha 4zinger lol.

You may want to quickly hushhh. Go get a POLARIS 1000 just like yours. It's for air plains that fuel. C10? We burn that in our cars 400mph 5 sec. You definitely need a 1000 XP hilifter ATV or XP LoL 😔😊

What is done to your engine? Is it stock? Can you run vp race fuel on a stock raptor?
I have the Athena 734 Big Bore with 12.5:1 CP piston coupled with a full system Monster exhaust, FCI intake, and PC5 fuel controller. You can run VP race feel on a stock motor but it would not offer you any benefit as a stock motor does not have an issue with pre-detonation.
