- Angela Fox of Cleveland is issuing a strong warning to apartment seekers who are thinking about shopping online for an apartment unit using platforms like Facebook Marketplace.
Absolutely disgusting; the government has to do something about this housing crisis. Not only are people homeless but there are millions of people living in unlivable housing conditions as well.
When black ppl were given these conditions to live in and told to “ pull yourself up from your boot straps” it was our fault that our neighborhoods were that way. Now they move in and now they want to the media and the world to know how bad the conditions are…..notice no one is blaming them for their living conditions
Bingo. This specific area is like 80% Black but the story is covering who? A few years ago they did a story up the street at The Vue paying 3x as them with no heat. Welcome to Cleveland. Notice for $800 nobody else complaining. Cheapest you gonna find. St Clair is more expensive for goodness sakes
@@MrArtVein I notice recently a lot of THEM moving in our areas now. Pay attention. They are evicting a lot of us to move them and them foreigners in.
Because Ohio has no rent caps and no laws that fend tenants. Landlords have to do nothing but the very minimal basics without accountability, they don't have to keep up with the property except for safety such as screens, locks, water heaters, leaks And barely care about that. The Ohio laws for landlords allow them to charge whatever they want and have no problem letting you live in terrible conditions! As long as the did proof isn't caving in.. your dump of a rental that your paying triple what is was prior to covid is just fine in Ohio eyes and Dewine can change this crazy rent and deadbeat landlords .. but apparently ..marijuana laws are far more important then the living conditions and rent so high no one can afford weed any ways with rent being triple what is was.. priority isn't his strong suite!! I've been in my town home in a very nice suburb... 17 years no painting or interior upkeep has been done is its not done out of my pocket. They have no rules to follow leaving us helpless when paying rent is all they are concerned about.. not making your living quarters look nice and feel nice.. nope just pay rent and live in your ugly home that they will rent out again with no upgrades or upkeep in any way.. nothing is on the tenants side in Ohio

I got did like this in CHICAGO JUST LAST YR I PAID RENT FAITHFULLY I HADN'T TOOK A BATH/SHOWER IN 7MONTHS IM DISABLED AND I HAD TO ACCEPTED IT I DIDN'T GET NO MONEY BACK AND I STAYED THERE 15 AND 1/2 YEARS TILL I JUST MOVED TO ANOTHER BUILDING THATS A HALF A LEVEL UP FROM WHERE I CAME FRUM AND WE GOT TO ACCEPT IT IS NOTHING WE CAN DO
Surely, city inspectors can inforce permit work & intercede between the public , contractors & corporate ownership.

That’s why you surpose to go view an apartment before paying any type of money I don’t understand how this even happened !that they would sign a lease for an apartment that wasn’t seen in person 👀 and pay money 💴 that’s jus crazy 😮.
It's a wild west out here. You could wait for that walk through but you better pay that hold fee, even if you do they'll rent it to someone else and keep the deposit lol

Why would anyone rent an apartment without first looking at it in person? It is really their own fault for not doing their own due diligence.
That's not how things work in Cleveland. If you see a rental for that cheap where you won't get stabbed to death, you run. Notice they highlighted two people that live there. This specific area is 80% Black
