The brightness and clarity of the C over the B are welcome. In some images the C has black crush while the B has better shadow detail, and in other images the situation is reversed. I think the challenge for Samsung is to retain the superior brightness and color richness of the C while introducing consistent shadow detail regardless of source.
Great comparison! Looks like a day 1 s95b would be the one to buy. Would that choice still hold for a s95b with the latest firmware? My guess is that for the current price savings yes, but taking price out of the decision the increased depth of the 95c might take the prize over a neutered 95b.
Mad props for reviewing in SDR. I can't understand why so many reviewers ignore that aspect when it's the only mode many people will see. Especially if they primarily game on Switch or watch a lot of sports and cable tv.
Yea! I agree, 95b looks sharper, more realistic and with more fluid movements...that is lost on the 95c but its definitely brighter but "cartoonish " looking..i had them both side by side and sent back the 95c
When it comes to calibration, since I'm a videographer who takes color correction and grading VERY Seriously. The most important thing for me is color accuracy and I usually do that by tinkering with RGB values until all the colors are as accurace as they can get. Then I deal with black levels. If you can get the black level correct, it doesn't really matter how far you push the brightness as long as black is actually black. If your settings have these things in mind, i'll definetly buy them within a month. I'll be getting the s95b
RGB panels are usually very ugly panels . They will show u good demo, it’s their in between colors r wayyyyyyyyyy off ! Most pictures r made by in between colors ! 😮 A BestBuy TV expert told me aft I bought a $3000 none RGB panel long ago . N he was trying to warn me :” stay away ! Color wayyyyy off , even their Main color looks good in demo n testing !” 😮
I’d really like to see a current firmware vs S95C. I know that’s a bit more of a hassle though. Motion as well. I love Soccer and Hockey, so motion will be one of the biggest factors whenever I upgrade.
I have the S95B on the latest firmware. Motion is a bit iffy and needs a bit of tinkering. For me, deblur at 3 and dejudder at 4 seems to work the best. Dejudder any higher creates a ghosting like effect sometimes.

I love my S95B, and Quantum I know you said the S95C has better 3D draw, which I really like too. I wish Samsung could compete with LG in that regard, I seen the G3 still has more 3D pop then the S95C. However, we can't have it all and I'm still happy with my QD-OLED. Maybe, I might steal the G3 for Black Friday this year, literally though lol
Now we are in november, and the difference in price droped to (around) 400 (Black friday deals are still to be revieled her in europe). The processing and contrast levels are 'of the charts' with the S95C, no complainse in that area, but the prices didnt drop as fast as last yours models. Would you still recomand the S95B at this point?

That seems to be an unfortunate trend lately with new technology it’s just new for the sake of new, and there’s not really much improvement. I think Samsung and almost all of these companies simply don’t seem to know to leave well enough alone when they have something good they should just leave it out there as a cheaper price as time goes on rather, than just put out something new every year for the sake of putting out something new.
I have owned the S95B since September , and absolutely love it … minus the dam screen optimization and start uptime lag delay on the user interface. It takes a hot second to load up during screen optimization. I only use smart mode, would like to know if there’s a better preset/ calibration recommendation for just streaming on the major streaming platforms and occcasional gaming

I’m on 1430 on my S95b and it seems bright and punchy vibrant, and people have done test saying it’s in the 1300’s of nit brightness. Seems 1430 brought a good amount of brightness from past software updates.
I tell you what in my personal experience going from a Q60T QLED to the S95C it's a night and day difference even compared to the S95B i actually own both in my experience S95C looks way better since the S95B had been so heavily neutered or whatever it was they done to it it looked great when it was brand new in a firmware update went out and made it look like crap.
Q60T !!! Omg I was 3 min away from buying it . Last min I bought Hisense . Damn! Hisense H9G that year was matching so close to Samsung Q90T , in image . But just losing at 240hz panel n HDMI 2.1 plug. 😮
@@birdtj82 I still have my Hisense H9G, at the time of its release it was and still is capable of 1000nits HDR similar to what the S95B was nerfed to. However, after getting my S95B in November its been night and day. Deep blacks from OLEDs in general makes specular highlights beautiful its hard to go back to LED even with Local Dimming, maybe when Micro-LED becomes perfected we'll all be good.

Day 1 s95b arent you supposed to update any tech you own? Did they nerf s95b when you update it lol? Also if you dont update can you still use it? Wont that cause any problem like burn in when you dont update?
How can this review apply to new S95B with a different firmware? This review is useful in showing what consumers could have gotten with the original S95B, and how it was more saturated than the s95C and also just as bright in some cases. The new S95B as far as I know will be much lower in brightness as well. So having said that, is it worth getting a more dim s95B vs s95c, albeit the s95b is probably more saturated as this review shows? The question still remains since people can not get the firmware removed from the more up to date s95b if they were to buy a new s96b, since it is not clear what the new s95b all the rest of us have access to would compare to the s95c. Still it shows how unfair samsung is towards their customers when the s95c is barely an upgrade to the not update s95b.

the thing is that this can be updated with a firmware on the 95c, the opposite isnt true with the 95b because its only as good as the hardware..
slap 2023 on s95b give it to consumers and increase the price.

PLZ HELP im.confused between A80K ,S95B AND A80L..PLZ PLZ SUGGEST AS IM WORRIED OF BRIGHTNESS ISSUE ON A80K ORELSE I WANT TO GO WITH A80K.
Day 1 s95b arent you supposed to update any tech you own? Did they nerf s95b when you update it lol? Also if you dont update can you still use it? Wont that cause any problem like burn in when you dont update?

How can this review apply to new S95B with a different firmware?
This review is useful in showing what consumers could have gotten with the original S95B, and how it was more saturated than the s95C and also just as bright in some cases.
The new S95B as far as I know will be much lower in brightness as well.
So having said that, is it worth getting a more dim s95B vs s95c, albeit the s95b is probably more saturated as this review shows?
The question still remains since people can not get the firmware removed from the more up to date s95b if they were to buy a new s96b, since it is not clear what the new s95b all the rest of us have access to would compare to the s95c.
Still it shows how unfair samsung is towards their customers when the s95c is barely an upgrade to the not update s95b.
