I'll never joke about the coke that you're smok-in

Got shot rocked and that's just where the shit stops
#RunDMC #TheAve #BackFromHell
DMC may be one of the most underrated MC’s of all time. He always goes hard.
I always liked him more than Run.
@@Frankflexxxx it’s such a shame alcohol took a toll on his voice
@@BlueOysterStan... Didn't know that. ☹️
@@Frankflexxxx well i actually got my facts mixed up it turns out
although he did suffer from alcoholism, it was not the reason he lost his voice for a bit. it’s actually because of stress he was putting on vocal chords in the group’s early days
@@BlueOysterStan... Yes. I just researched that. 👍🏾
I directed this video for Profile Records, like I did 15 others for Profile and more than a dozen more for other labels back then. That's me at 2:38 with the Triple F.A.T. down coat and the long hair. We shot this whole video in one night, starting with the exploding car at the Brooklyn Naval Yard. That was more than half my life ago. Life is very short.
Wow Alexandra, didn't know that. I'm reminiscing because today marks 15 yrs today of Jam Master Jay death
Wow, Alex that's legendary....I loved this cut....I remember EPMD using this sample "Who's Booty" long live Run D.M.C and R.I.P. to JMJ....Thank you for your contribution to this great art of hip hop!!!
Alexandra, that's a really cool memory. You are so right, time goes by so fast.
did you receive any directions from the artists? im curious. ty
MRS. ALEXANDRA, I LOVE THIS SONG. IT SOUNDS SO NICE IN MY CTS. U GREAT VIDEO U DID A GREAT JOB.
One of the most underrated albums and songs.
one of the best Rap groups ever
"One of"? How about "THE" best rap group ever? Nobody did it better than The Kings of Rock.

Wu-Tang
Dmc’s flow was so dope 💪🏾💯
Indeed it wasMagnetic
Right 👍
@@LoganDavis-p4jdamn rap music changed since 1989-90
RUN DMC this is hip hop history
MU HARD classic album
RUN DMC ,IS 100% PURE Energy
"Many, many, many records broke - broke jaws, a few months ago I had to pause" my favorite rhyme on this song.
Their most underrated album ever for the kings themselves
Indeed.
Awesome. Underrated track by the kings themselves. RIP, Jay. Hail Run DMC.
I was ok like 7 but I don't know how I missed it. Probably cause I was young. Raising Hell was my jam as a kid. Just like the 2nd Beastie's album underrated and ahead of its time.
This album I mean didn't hear much about it. People where still processing what just happened when them among others changed the face of music.
The world needs more Run DMC...
Red Alert and Chuck Chillout rocked this jam every weekend in 1990
R.I.P. Jam Master Jay.
Another true talent in the music industry gone too soon.
actually this song is released at the perfect time. in 1990, crime in new york city at its peak. 1990: 2245 murder cases.
2015: 315 cases
This might just be JMJ's greatest instrumental all those stops and switches and mixes and scratches GOD DAMN! REST IN POWER!!!
This beat is made by Sa'D Ali the Hourchild of P.Funk and his Brothers from Newark, NJ...it wasn't made by J. But J is a legend
What's that you say? Pauses, switches, scratches? RUN-DMC? Check it out: ruclips.net/video/j3XcTC_MwmY/видео.htmlsi=oTnx4ulZamew2wwz
Underrated joint right here !
Yeah IKR!! Erryone is on the NWA bandwagon thesedayz...........
Underrated Run DMC classic.....such a stone groove my man!!
Darryl Mac has one of the dopest ass deliveries, a tru rapper’s rapper! I mean ur cant deny the legacy of stage presence the hard vocals, i like run but dmc is the back bone of the Group in hiphop persona!
I grew up off these brothers and watched them grow into hip hop pioneers that paved the way for all the Eric b LL cool j Kool more Ds Stetsasonic Boogie Down Production and many more artists to come in short Thank you Rev.Run Thank you DMC Thank you Jam Master may your legacy live on May God always protect and preserve you both and RIP brother DMX and much love and respect for achieving a common most b black men strive for
Being a father
Back From Hell was the first album not to receive any RIAA certification neither Gold or Platinum. The Ave. was a bad-ass song and DMC kicking with gangsta-rap mode. Back From Hell went nowhere but down.
+Eric Stewart Until DOWN WITH THE KING brought Run DMC back up a bit 3 years later.
Ryan Bayne Yes sir!!! Very true.
I liked this better than down tbh
straight underrated
Who listening in 2020?
Contains samples of:
“Chase” by James Brown (1973) (Intro) 0:04
“Get Up (I Feel Like Being A) Sex Machine” by James Brown (1970) (vocal) 0:07
“Sang and Dance” by Bar-Kays (1970) (vocal) 0:11
“Same Beat” by Fred Wesley and The J.B.’s (1974) 0:13
“Think (About It)” by Lyn Collins (1972) (vocal) 0:23 and 0:38
“Pause” by Run-DMC (1989) 0:50 and 0:51
“I Like Funky Music” by Uncle Louie (1979) 0:51
“Down on the Avenue” by Fat Larry’s Band (1976) (vocal) 1:31 and 1:35
“Mama Feelgood” by Lyn Collins (1973) 1:53
“Hihache” by The Lafayette Afro Rock Band (1974) (Drums) 1:58
“You Can Have Watergate Just Gimme Some Bucks and I’ll Be Straight” by Fred Wesley and The J.B.’s (1973) 1:59
With all those samples, I wonder how much of the album budget was blown on this one song.
Thats alot of samples, I wonder how much all those samples cost to liscence?
@@nibbles187 Wow.
I still bump this today, I moved to Atlanta, GA when this came out
THE HARDEST RHYME AND BEAT EVER FROM THEM
Classic from the pioneers rap legends.
Still a banger!
This song might be RUN-DMC's most underrated. The "Back From Hell" album as a whole was a miss, but "The Ave" is a classic song
The Ave. is the best song on "Back From Hell" Hands down. Love this joint.
Groove to the sound Is Better

I like that song by run-dmc
DMC GOES ARD!
Best rap group in the eighties and nineties
Maybe eighties. Nineties is Gang Starr all day
90s run dmc was underrated
They were exactly were they should have been rated. They was actually played out by the time this dropped. This elementary school rhymes was cartoonishly old.
Dmc the best rapper in this hip hop shit
Ive always loved this track and whats it all about . i liked that street element 2 it.
beat is banging..
The first Straight Outta of. New York!!!!!@#%^&***&^%$#@
One of my favorite Run DMC songs.
Best rap group ever. My childhood. Classic

My favorite RUN DMC song
Rest in peace jam Master Jay run DMC classic album
RIP Jam Master Jay
80's hall of Fame
Classic
You could feel them starting to slip around this time. By the next album they were really just phoning it in.
lost classic...underground banger!
they killed it
This and What It's All About are two of my favourite Run DMC tracks, even though Back From Hell doesn't seem to get a lot of attention in their history
AGREED AND SAME
One of the best groups to ever bless us on the mic bottom line. And on a side note I have a you tube channel type in Russell Mills May 22, 2017
This should be on the radio tracks for GTA it'd be a fan favorite straight up
FIRE🔥🎼🎤

Brothers from the Ave this & that again.. JMJ Lives!
Why have I never heard or seen this before? I love the production quality of this.
Run, D, and Jay was going through some shit back around the time the made the songs for the 𝘽𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙃𝙚𝙡𝙡 (1990) album and they still tried (and succeeded) to put out quality music. I would take the 𝘽𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙃𝙚𝙡𝙡 album over any of these rap or pop rap albums today.
THE KINGS!!!
This is an awesome song by Run DMC. There is something unique about the beat as well. It’s very familiar. I remember hearing it from another sample. It’s very timeless.
No they are number 1 killa
Run-DMC was always gangsta
D KILT this song. Would have liked to see him perform this song live in 1990 (when this song came out) or 1991, but then again moms would have been like no because I was just in elementary school in those years (2nd grade).
I remember this one, I was like11 or 12 when this came out, probably 12.
DMC is the cooLest brotha’!!!
DMC is the cOOLis' !!!
Good stuff. This was from my personal favorite RUN-DMC album "Back From Hell".
RUN DMC were on their gangster sh!t with that album and this song shows it.
Another Run DMC Classic....
I could hear Treach in Run when OPP came out cuz of this song
Banger
I remember watching this in 1990 on maybe Video Music Box ... it was really sad to see RUN DMC with this and "The Pause".
Not that this song is weak in any way ... its just that you knew Run & DMC were lost and really didn't know who they were anymore
Dope 🔥💣🔝👊
JMJ with dreads , rare !
DMC SPITS🎤
DMC
Commenting again cause this is my favorite song and album til this day but Run-DMC had to listen again on repeat lol
