In the UK we are moving towards all inclusive and that incudes gratuities.. It all comes down to the overall cost of the holiday. We would rather know what we were spending and not keep worrying about every penny we spend.

Just an FYI if you want to use your onboard credit towards a beverage package, MSC will only allow you to purchase it onboard paying the full price.

Is there any difference between the minors and alcohol free package apart from the price?
I have a 17 year old coming with us next month, I don’t want to pay for the alcohol free if she gets the same in the minors package.
I select the beverage package with the free at sea because that is the only option the free at sea had that I wanted and why I bought the trip in the first place. I didn't need the shore excursions. I book my own. Didn't need the Internet or the meal. The guest service manager did offer to apply the beverage package to my account for $1,200.00. Would you pay that for 5 days of drinks under $15? NCL pretty much ruined a planned vacation. I am quite PISSED OFF about it. There were a lot of pissed off people on the Gem out of Venice on Jun 19th. I met 4 people that said the same thing happened to them with the free at sea. NO DRINKS. How about the couple that spent $1,400 for a private tour of Venice? NCL knew 3 months before the sail date that the Gem was not going to Venice, but they didn't inform anyone about that. Why would I book another trip with NCL after what happened to me? Why would anyone book another trip with NCL? There are a lot of other cruise companies out there that care more about the customer than NCL.
Thanks for your video! Going on a MSC Cruise this July. The one question I had about the packages is what would happen if I order a $15 drink and I just have an Easy Plus package? Would the package still apply to charge me the price difference or am I stuck having to pay full price for that drink?
You just pay the difference
No, if you order a 16$ drink you have to pay full price for it.. anything up 15$ you pay full price

yes you can upgrade not sure of the exact price difference, but you may want to call before you sail it is usually less expensive

Yes, MSC includes the gratuities in their package prices
Do you happen to know how much something like a Virgin (no alcohol) Pina Colada would be? Hoping they do not charge the same as one with alcohol in it.
I don't know the exact price but they have been 2 to 3 dollars cheaper from what I have seen
I would like to purchase the non-alcoholic drink package. My roommate is a diabetic, and she only drinks water no soda no juice both parties have to buy a drink package.

Would be nice if they had a cheaper package, where you could get 3 or 4 drink a day. We are not big drinker, and it would be nice to have a drink or two each day, without selling the house. lol

4x$9 drinks is $36, worth the couple dollars to give much greater flexibility
Just know, if you cancel a drink package before you cruise, they do not post the refund policy. They will not refund you until 30-60 days after the end of your cruise. Yes, you read that right. So if you cancel before you leave, then you have to wait until the end of that cruise for 30-60 days before they will give your money back. This is a terrible policy.
The cruise that I took when I had the package, all I did was chase the per diem of cost per day. That was not fun. The other thing was the bartenders were not telling you at the time of order when the drink you wanted was not on the package and you were just charged the difference. I had to wait 3-4 days before they refunded me on the ship for these differences. It was no fun. But I learned.
Better to pay as you go. Then you are not chasing the per diem, and you can keep track. Seriously, can you drink almost $50 per day in alcohol? That is at least almost 6 drinks per day. Just sayin.

most cruise lines require that for adults staying in the same cabin

You probably won't be going on anymore cruises then. It's like this on every ship.
