My Cockatiel is sick!

- Yesterday I noticed Nixx isn’t feeling well. This is one reason owning a parrot is hard because they actually hide their sickness very well and you really have to be on top of things to notice any changes. Nixx threw up by me after her breakfast. If I wasn’t there to see this I might not have noticed her shaking her head constantly. She has also been sleeping more than normal. I pray this is nothing serious. We will find out when blood results come in in a few days.

If a human has a brain concussion it can cause them to vomit. The vomiting, and head shaking makes me wonder if there was some kind of neurological injury? Have you heard anything back? Please keep us posted - I am concerned!
You are definitely right!!! This is exactly what my breeder friend was asking me! She was wondering if she crashed into a wall! But I told her no, so she was saying the only other thing it could be is an ear infection! I am posting an update RIGHT NOW!🥰🥰🥰 Thank you for your comment ❤️

Best wishes for the poor sick baby. I have three birds and sometimes my beautiful canary has skin agitations that get really bad and we have to go get drops.

Thank you so much! I have a breeder friend who was saying that this type of head shake that she is doing really seems like she has an ear infection and that the antibiotics should clear it up if it is!🙏🙏🙏 Praying her blood comes back clear!❤️

This is exactly what my breeder friend was telling me!!!🙌 she said the other reason she would be shaking her head like this is if she crashed hard and hit her head but she didn’t crash! Praying it’s just an ear infection and the antibiotics that I got take care of it for her!🙏❤️
A travel cage should be empty. If the bird gets very frightened it starts thrashing around they could injure their wings! You don't even need a perch in there and next time you take the bird cover the cage up so they'll stay calm
Thanks for the comment but I don’t agree! I understand your reasoning but it’s not good for all parrots. Mine need things in the cage! They are always walking around chewing on things 😉 having nothing will make them MORE nervous 😉

Lola is so sweet and Katie. I feel so bad for the older Amazon parrots that are such good birds but probably started to outlive the people who got them. Or they didn't do their research on bird ownership, not bird semi owner
