Everyone keeps mentioning Richard Pryor Jr., but doesn't anyone else recognize Daniel Roebuck? He was the reason I clicked on this video- which was awesome; great job, guys!
Jeez if I had neighbors that cared that much and went into my house without my permission so often I'd probably end up clocking one of them with a blunt object and moving away too. Don't trespass folks.
I absolutely loved this film! It covers several genres; sci-fi, psychological, mystery, suspense, thriller....... outstanding job on all aspects! FREAKISHLY GREAT!!!
it mildly angers me that because of how youtube suggest videos these great indie films and actual art work next make it to the front. This deserves so much more recognission and views then it has and i hope everyone that sees this shares it and watches out for the studios new works.
TheGamerNamedSly It is recognition***. And this was god awful. But I agree with you in the fact that there are so many actual good pieces of work on youtube and great artists that do need recognition. There are actors and actresses out there that are better than Meryl Streep and Day Lewis (just examples) that will never be recognized. Nature of the business.
Ann Knight Funny story about that. We decided to do a little Manos shout out cuz my friends and I enjoy a good bad movie every now and then. A crew member's wife made the painting. I expected something small in the background but when it came time to dress the set, they show up with this huge painting of The Master. By that time, we had to go with it.
All through this (awesomely weird) movie I was waiting for that agrivating neighbor lady to die. When that shovel finally went "CLANG!" I was like AAAaaahhh...FINALLY! Great film guys!
I was the stand-in for the lead. For some reason he couldn't be there for that scene, so I had to jump in (I was Director of Photography) and do the scene. Luckily, I'm behind the plastic, so you really can't tell the difference between us.
The neighbors are scarier than the thing in the basement. Maybe he should keep them in the basement and have horrors as his neighbors; would be less stressful.
It was very strange that an older hot chick and an young hot chick would both be so into the fat guy who just pushed them away like they were just two more groupies in his charmed life. That was the weirdest part.
Really well made short horror film. Good acting and directing, creepy atmosphere, interesting plot, sharp dialogues, and a chilling, thought-provoking ending. I really like watching these short movies on RUclips; a great chance for new filmmakers to put up their work and show their talent. Being an aspiring screenwriter myself, I find that really enjoyable and inspiring. Keep up the great work, you are talented. Looking forward to watching more of your videos.
Lol is that the Master from Manos Hand of Fate?? 🤣 This was really well done, the build up, everything, kept me on the edge of my seat. Good job! Can't believe I just found this now.
This would be a wonderful adaptation to the thing on the doorstep. Better yet. I would love to see what your group would do with the mountains of madness.
Saaaame here. Thanks for the kind words. We are working on a feature script with things that go slither in the night. It takes a long time for this sort of thing to develop properly but it'll happen.
Can people realize that the comments are viewed prior to watching, to see how it was as far as good, bad, ending cut off, etc... if you have to spoil the movie for others, at least say SPOILER ALERT: and leave it in the “Read More” section of your comments!!!! Thank you!!!
Hi Matt. It's not a Lovecraft story but weird fiction is one of my favorite genres so I wanted to do a film that included similar themes. This one was shot a few years ago and I'm looking forward to doing more in the genre soon. Thanks for watching!
Thanks, Jack! I have a second script written that is similar length. A story that takes place alongside this one. We're shooting that early next year. I'm also actively working on a feature with some of these elements involved. Thanks for watching. :)
I think the scariest part was this dude leaving his place unlocked while he was gone and the creepy ass Micheal jackson looking poster, painting thing above the fire place
I don't understand how you could have enjoyed it. The plot was incomprehensible and the only way it could have been inspired by H. P. Lovecraft was in the form the creature was perhaps intimated looked like the fish like creature Cthulhu in the mythos Lovecraft created around it. Otherwise it was an incomprehensible mix of bad acting even on the part of Daniel Roebuck whose career has apparently tanked.
I usually don't respond to these comments, but I am so tired of people telling others what they can and can't enjoy. Stay in your own lane. So, you didn't like it, who cares, I did!
Then you shouldn't post comments with a reply tab. What do you expect when someone thinks you aren't truly capable of defining what is and isn't a good offering? I didn't swear at you and call you stupid did I? I simply expressed my opinion. Surely these film makers don't upload their feature and not expect someone offering their critique. If they don't expect someone giving their opinion then they are in for a sad journey if they hope to continue with the ambition of producing feature films. And yet you tell me to stay in my lane. Well I am in my lane and offered my opinion of the feature and your take on it which seems to me you aren't astute enough to know when something is or isn't very well made. You didn't offer us any reason why you thought it was good just your surprise that Mr. Roebuck was in it. Exactly why was it good? I'm almost 70 and I've seen some good movies, some great movies, and some really horrible movies in my 69 years of time on this earth and I can categorically say this was horrible and you're a poor judge of such endeavors. You're probably a young person who likes all these horrible comic book super hero movies they keep cranking out in Hollywood and its little wonder I seldom ever go to movies anymore. All the mindless crap is for the consumption of a bunch of empty headed juvenile minds astride the world these days. Again dee dee green I am in my lane. As I said if you don't expect a response perhaps you shouldn't post anything with a reply tab, or always include a caveat with your comment that you're loath to hear from someone who might disagree with your commentary. Perhaps that will give you the censorship you'd prefer since you're so very delicate.
why does he live in this crappy house if he's an important scientist...and btw who the hell says "deer meat" instead of "venison"? Seriously. Who says that
Hot (and very inaccurate) take: This is a metaphor for the unwanted attention and "help" that new parents and their infants are constantly being bombarded with. They guy just wants to get his advice from the experts and live quietly with his kid for the first little while during and after "pregnancy", but everyone around him keeps trying to check in on him, make sure everything's "okay" and offer unsolicited help. They insist on seeing the baby even though the parent isn't ready for that yet. The axing of the nosy lady represents what many new parents want to do to people who keep interjecting themselves into their family life for no good reason.
Stang! That was good! Have you guys ever considered doing something with in the Yellow Sign/King in Yellow tradition? I think you'd do well with that material.
Oh yes! We definitely want to keep working in the weird fiction genre. I (Jason) have written a couple more stories that are mythos-inspired and the King in Yellow vibe is right up my alley. Glad you enjoyed the movie!
Okay. But next time, try writing and directing it so it seems believable. Doesn't even have to be realistic; just coherent and... well, acted. You know, by actors, acting like people would have behaved in those situations; not like in a school play.
very good, and elaborate, so unlike that i have expected, very tensed thriller, especially the moment when one of neighbour decide to try to open the door btw can someone told me what that ethereal voice said at12:26
ACTORS ,ACTING ,STORY line very strange. THEM?? NOT ENUFF SEEN to get idea of what was intened to be about, too bad looked asIF IT could have been GREAT story. ;(. 4 out of ten
The band is Veritae and the song is What Lies Beneath. If you look through the Ten Wing Media videos you can see the music video we did for the song. Thanks for watching the movie!
I'd have liked something a little more visually compelling. Too many fade-to-blacks for my taste. Fun little story, though. Would have enjoyed more if it'd been developed more. And no offense, but when the lead also happens to be the casting director, I start to smell vanity project.

Thanks, David! Dan was a total delight.
Exactly!!
Wow, nothing worse than having a group of meddling and nosy neighbors 😣
Amazing film! Those neighbors were annoying as hell, wish he had the balls to flat out tell them to mind their own business
Thank you! Maybe in the sequel. :)
Does the entire neighborhood just let themselves in to his house?..lock the damn door!
I can´t believe this was just 24 minutes. It felt like a full length movie or at least a full x-files episode. GREAT JOB
Jeez if I had neighbors that cared that much and went into my house without my permission so often I'd probably end up clocking one of them with a blunt object and moving away too. Don't trespass folks.
It's a cautionary tale! :)
I'd have shot first, if I saw someone and it was too dark to make out who, or was in silhouette.
Seriously. I can't believe he didn't use the shovel earlier...
Yeah...totally.
"...wellness check! Helloooo!? Hello! Wellness check...I'm coming in!" 🤣
Wow this was unexpectedly good. For some reason I loved the choice of music right before the credits rolled (while he was driving). Very good.
Thanks Uriah! We have another part of the series shooting next year.
I absolutely loved this film! It covers several genres; sci-fi, psychological, mystery, suspense, thriller....... outstanding job on all aspects! FREAKISHLY GREAT!!!
Thanks Catherine! Hopefully we can get some more freakishly great stuff coming your way.
it mildly angers me that because of how youtube suggest videos these great indie films and actual art work next make it to the front. This deserves so much more recognission and views then it has and i hope everyone that sees this shares it and watches out for the studios new works.
I couldn't agree more! :)

Jason Huls I honestly thought it was a painting of Frank Zappa.
OMG, i almost spit out my coffee when i saw that!!! BRILLIANT!
That is brilliant! Bravo to the artist. It caught my eye immediately!
All through this (awesomely weird) movie I was waiting for that agrivating neighbor lady to die.
When that shovel finally went "CLANG!" I was like AAAaaahhh...FINALLY!
Great film guys!

Glad I'm not the only one that was waiting for that!
@@oldjello you did a great job clunking her on the head!! Two thumbs up!!
@Swissffun Nani why read the comments first, you sort of asked for the spoiler.
A solid abstract style of telling this story. Bringing everything together at the end was clear. Nicely done.
The neighbors are scarier than the thing in the basement. Maybe he should keep them in the basement and have horrors as his neighbors; would be less stressful.
They would be terrifying as neighbors 😳
Holy crap, that painting is from the infamous film Manos the Hands of Fate. What a reference XD
Why thank you!
Raggedy Anzy I thought it was Frank Zappa. 🤷🏽♂️
This earned you a subscriber. Awesome job. Easily one of my favorite films. In my Top 3
Wow, thank you Capt. Bacon! Hopefully we'll have more for you soon.

I would never have a basement.
.....
Or an attic.
Where would you hide your secrets then?
This was cool, I enjoyed it!!👍😁
Lol is that the Master from Manos Hand of Fate?? 🤣
This was really well done, the build up, everything, kept me on the edge of my seat.
Good job! Can't believe I just found this now.
Indeed it is, Lord Palpatine. I thank you for the kind words and in exchange I promise to be a good servant of the Empire!
Anyone who cares.....the neighbors husband is RICHARD PRYORS SON......RICHARD PRYOR JR......
Yes! And he is a wonderful person! We'd love to get him in another film sometime soon.
Yessss i saw that in the beginning and then saw him and was glad to see him acting and doing well
Might be the best short horror film I have seen.
Wow! Thank you!
cool. I hope you make more films like this.
Thanks! I have the next script connected to this. We're shooting in the Spring.
I love the old TSR novels on the bookshelf.
This would be a wonderful adaptation to the thing on the doorstep. Better yet. I would love to see what your group would do with the mountains of madness.
Saaaame here. Thanks for the kind words. We are working on a feature script with things that go slither in the night. It takes a long time for this sort of thing to develop properly but it'll happen.
this is a rather unordinary story, the plot twist is completely unexpected thats just masterpiece
Thanks for the kind words! Glad you enjoyed.
Do the people who give these awards actually know the difference between horror and just plain weird?
Eyeree! Back home in Jamaica, we be calling this the work of voodoo magic mun.
that was pretty cool! I loved it!! great job
Thank you, Oletta!
The tendrils are quivering from the yawning gulfs
Nice presentation, n concept
LOVED the inter-racial couple!
Good work!
We'll be in touch.
Thanks! They were both awesome to work with.
Well, damn good job. Keep up the good work.
Aww the baby was so cute. And that damn nosey neighbor lol!
Did I just see "Richard Pryor Jr." in the opening credits?
Wow!!! That was crazy!! Good one.
Loved it! Dont leave it there... Need more!
We agree! We were kicking around some ideas for a web series...
Can people realize that the comments are viewed prior to watching, to see how it was as far as good, bad, ending cut off, etc... if you have to spoil the movie for others, at least say SPOILER ALERT: and leave it in the “Read More” section of your comments!!!! Thank you!!!
You make a good point. I'm going to put a warning in the description.
Roth, Alexander, Marshall, Pryor? Any famous relatives amongst those names or just coincidence?
Not coincidence. Brenna is David's daughter and Richard Pryor Jr. is...well...
Amazing. ....left me wanting more.....
Loved it ❤️😊 weirdly wonderful !!!
is this a lovecraft story? if not it is the closest thing to lovecraft i have seen in a long time.
Hi Matt. It's not a Lovecraft story but weird fiction is one of my favorite genres so I wanted to do a film that included similar themes. This one was shot a few years ago and I'm looking forward to doing more in the genre soon. Thanks for watching!
I was expecting him being a murderer, but at first I thought the woman in blue is the ghost of his victim
Those are the nosiest neighbors ever
It's true! Poor neighbors!
Annoying asf
Well done
Nice! Love the ambiguity. 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Thank you! I have a script for another one. Hoping we can shoot it this year.
is that Manos (the hands of fate) on the painting in the background?!?!?!
Bingo!
The balls this chick has to just go galovanting in someone's house like that 😳
Well he would have been screwed if lock down happened. He can’t stay home 3 days. Come on!!! Imagine months
Really nice concept 👍
Excellent movie! I love all horror movies!
I hope there will be feature film about this
Thanks, Jack! I have a second script written that is similar length. A story that takes place alongside this one. We're shooting that early next year. I'm also actively working on a feature with some of these elements involved. Thanks for watching. :)
Wow, Love this film. Very, very good and what a great twist. Kinda reminded me of X-Files, Black Mirror & Outer Limits all rolled into one!!
That's very high praise. Thank you! Glad you enjoyed.
Ok Hated that lady's acting... but fell in LOVE with the rest of the story and adore the ending.
Loved this, great job! The Manos poster was a great touch 😃 and was that really Richard Pryor's son?
Indeed it was! He's a great guy. And thanks for the kind words about the movie. Glad you enjoyed.
Ah, I see you're a man of culture as well.
The voice-over at the beginning sounds exactly like Kylo Ren from Star Wars. EXACTLY! I actually thought it was at first.
Dose this guy EVER lock his fucking door?!
👍👍👍Awesome job! Loved it!
Why thank you, Amy!
Don't feed him after midnight (PST) is one of the food rules.
What about chicken?
I think the scariest part was this dude leaving his place unlocked while he was gone and the creepy ass Micheal jackson looking poster, painting thing above the fire place
This is really kool, good work.
Why thank you! Glad you enjoyed the movie.
Amazing film, what's the song at the end?
Thank you! The song is "What Lies Beneath" by Veritae. We actually did a music video for them. ruclips.net/video/IpKVHe9jNgM/видео.html
How the heck did you get Richard Pryor Jr??
He is such a cool guy. Steve Christopher (Alistair) had worked with him in the past and gave him a call.
I was also surprised to see Daniel Roebuck in an amateur production. He's a talented actor. I really enjoyed this film.
I don't understand how you could have enjoyed it. The plot was incomprehensible and the only way it could have been inspired by H. P. Lovecraft was in the form the creature was perhaps intimated looked like the fish like creature Cthulhu in the mythos Lovecraft created around it. Simple, don't read rhe comments before watching the film. It's a no brainer.
Nothing worse than nosy cougars on the prowl
Thanks! Not bad. Keep at it!! =]
7:03. Manos master from Mst 3k in the background. Funny. & Respect!
The guy that’s talking at 0:30 sounds like unit 522
why does he live in this crappy house if he's an important scientist...and btw who the hell says "deer meat" instead of "venison"? Seriously. Who says that
That just rocked my world! ! ! I want more! ! !
Loved it!! 🤗🐙
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Nosey fuckin neighbors. Mind your business. This is how people get killed. That entire scene pissed me off.
Does anyone else notice Richard Pryor junior made this film?! Omfg😍
Very interesting! Are you making a part 2?
Thank you! I'm currently writing a companion film. A glimpse at a different part of the overall plot.
Not really scary to me, but nicely creepy.

Thanks Ana!
The true horror of this story is that blonde neighbor lady!
I'm tryna hallucinate like that, what he on.... Shrooms??
This was good thank you so. Much for making a really cool way out there film yaaaa 👍👍👍👄👄👄👄👄👄👄👄👄👄👄👄👀
Happy to be of service!

the cutest thing....a little baby Cthulu!
Cool

Thumbs up for the Manos picture
Wow, great!!!
👌 loved it
Does he not know how to lock a door?
There needs to be a follow up
The script is written. We were planning to shoot this Summer before COVID hit. We'll see where we land but it's on the way.
5* was something wrong with him? neighbor lady nosey as heck
Nice MST3K reference, although it was a bit overdone in my opinion.
Uhhhhm...could somebody please explain to me how all of the weird stuff that occurred in the film cured the guy's cancer? I'm a bit lost on that
very good, and elaborate, so unlike that i have expected, very tensed thriller, especially the moment when one of neighbour decide to try to open the door btw can someone told me what that ethereal voice said at12:26

@@JasonHuls thank you
good
Now we know where Torgo came from : )
I'd like to think this movie is in the Manosiverse!
guy on the mic sounds like Kylo Ren. :)
+TheRealGunfish I heard the guy on the phone has an 8-pack too. :)
Jason Huls pffftt.. Where'd you hear that? Matt the radar tech?
What kind of symbol is on the basement door?
An ancient and mystical one!
I'd have liked something a little more visually compelling. Too many fade-to-blacks for my taste. Fun little story, though. Would have enjoyed more if it'd been developed more. And no offense, but when the lead also happens to be the casting director, I start to smell vanity project.
