I love the simplicity of these cars. Reminds me of the days when I was messing around with MG Maestros.
they are a pain to work on though 😂
Thanks for making this tutorial. I've got 35mm lowering springs to go on my 1.8 Tigra B, but I'm a rookie, so your video is a big help. I've got the same Hornet exhaust as you, the thing sounds real nice.
Nice to see you posting again James!
Its good to see you back James, you have been missed, looking forward to the next video
Thanks for the video. I have lowered quite a few Vectra c's now but want to do a corsa I now have. Very good video and like your safety tips. Thanks for posting
welcome back! i've done the same work on my audi A1 last month. a little bit different on the front axles but mostly the same work.
Gabriele Olivieri Good to be back, thankyou! Well done on doing your Audi
Hi I have a corsa c in black and I've recently put coilovers on and sits perfectly and nice videos 👌🏼
very useful - I have to do front and rear (replacement not lowered) on my sons 19 year old Corsa so this was perfect - many thanks... I have had a strut fail on me, shooting the broken top mount right across the drive! had that been pointing towards me.....yikes.
Good to see you're back! I'm quiet lucky, I only found these videos not too long ago, so not much waiting for me!
Getting a Corsa SXI 2005 1.4, should be fun to get tinkering with it...
There's a couple things wrong that I'd love to see if you could possibly make videos demonstrating how to do. A common problem are the windows get jammed, care to show us how to dismantle the door to get access to the electric window components on the driver side? Before getting the car, it was flooded by a leaky footwell, so I will also be replacing the interior as it got riddled in mold, any good advice before stripping the interior? Thanks, and excellent work, really good instructional videos, with plenty of detail!
Great video! Thanks for posting that, it should help me a lot. Glad you're back! :D
Thanks mate I used this as a guide to install my coil overs on my gsi
Nice video, one thing to note when removing the rear spring is to jack it up and remove the bolt for the shock, then lower it gently. it can be danderous with that flying down
Zed Man That's a very good point, I like a bit of danger! Lol thanks for the comment
Love the corsa vids! Help a lot!
Danny Dumbell I'm glad you enjoy them as there will be lots more!
Glad to see you back uploading videos! :)
Eric Hurley Glad to be back bud
I just recently overhauled the suspension on mine and the bro's project Porsche 924. Using the spring compressor was terrifying, I was only short of putting on a bomb suit haha.
Eric Hurley haha it does feel like you are about to cut the red wire!
Thanks for another great video.
good job dude. also liked the music kind of sounds christmasy.
rob roberts Well the weather is starting to turn so I guess the music is appropriate lol
Nice to have u back man, thinking about doing the same on mine but which is better coilovers or springs, and after seeing how yours sits im thinking springs. Also another great vid keep it up 👍
WagonGang coil overs are usually always better as you can fine tune your ride height, but if you are on a budget 40mm springs front and back work just fine
Hey man ive been watching quite a few of your videos recently and loved seeing all the work you were doing, i was just wondering how did you know all the torque on the bolts is there a book or anything that tells you?
Welcome back buddy, been a while lol!
Glad your back mate👍🏼
Sim Bryan Appreciate it my man! I'm back for good now :) video explained everything coming this week
The Savage Garage okay 👌🏻
The Savage Garage. I just fitted 50mm but still looks a bit high, is that always the case that they need time to settle?
Nice to see you back.. sits at a nice height.... yellow springs look well... :-)
Neil M82 Thanks Neil, good to be back! Appreciate the feedback :)
nice to see u back pal
Damien Mctasney Nice to be back bud, thanks for the comment
Great video. Good work.
Sweet tutorial helped me out
Good vid man Top effort
And the SRI wheels are mint🔥👌🏻
Sim Bryan thanks bro!
Thnxs for the video. My corsa c sxi front damper is leaking! A lot more confident now having seen how its done. Are there different types of damper?Something to help with the speed bumps around here, something to absorb the shock , gas filled maybe?
Great video bro👊
absolutely mint!!
Hi is it possible to adjust the camber in a corsa c as since lowering it my back tyres catch my arches really bad thanks
Just had the front ones replaced by the Vauxhall garage, I went somewhere else to get the tires done and the guy said they were both loose the whole wheel was wobbling, it shouldn't do that should it?
When undoing the strut top nut you should hold the damper rod still and move the nut, this prevents any damage to the nice damper surface and the seals. But good vid doing my car soon too.
hello my friend, your video is very helpful, thank you very much !! Is it easy for you to tell me what brand of springs they are and how many points did the car lower? because I want to find the exact same for my corsa🙏
aaargghh I HATE those types of spring compressors...I recommend you ask a shop to borrow their wall mounted setup next time. so much safer mate. glad it worked out for you tho and glad to see the videos rolling out again. I'm a manager for a large automotive company in the US and your videos are usually an excellent explanation on the DIY side of things as you usually do things the right way, spring compressors aside lol :). keep it up!
RytheGeneral Yea I would always recommend taking the strut assembly to a garage to get them done properly and safely, but for the purpose of the video doing it in the driveway is what I'm about so it felt right! lol Thanks for watching and for the kind words!
What a great video.
I've just purchased the very same springs and i'm looking for some advice from you regarding putting these on my corsa 1.2.
Will i regret putting these on my car as i've heard some people say that the handle isn't too great after install?
Thanks man
Can these torque wrench measurements be used on meriva mk1 or where did you get that info? Thanks.
Great videos just subscribed
How important is it to torque to 65nm, will it be okay to just tighten until it no longer turns?
So do you use the spring compressors when putting the new spring on .or do you just put them on without using the compressors
Do you need shortened rear shocks to drop 60mm or will it be okay on standard ?
is it just me or does anyone else feel like its a ticking time bomb wenever you use the coil clamps ha
Martin Maughan yea dude, feel like you need a bomb disposal suit
Its impossible not to feel like that! when you see all that tension and the force required to compress it! while compressing you see the metal sort of bending a little. All and all it went ok for me but the feeling is something else!!
Worst than the nerves of checking if a repair you did fixed an issue or not xD
I've only done it once on a van, needless to say I kept it pointing away from me.
Can you replace springs just by taking off one wheel and jacking up one side of the car only ?
Where did you get those gloves from mate ? Cheers
I love the rust. Have an opel corsa C 1.2 gasoline. 19 years old. Not so rusty
How much of an improvement is it over standard springs ? and do you have any issues with speed humps ?
Ok thanks for the advice
your finally back 😀
the one I am :D
What video have you got planned next
Are them rear springs off eBay? 40mm if they are it's nice to see what they'll look like as I've ordered them yesterday
Are the both sides of that socket square?
Good video....how long did it take from start to finish?
You forgot to mention to check the alignment and also when loosening the rear shock absorber is like to use a jack stand under the rear axle to support and slowly lower when removing the bolt.
I am having a bit of trouble in my loging on my corsa can anybody help thank
can you send me a link to were you got these springs
Top video again. You make it look so straight forward. Are you a car mechanic in your day job?
Im not mate no, just a hobby :)
how many mm lower was this than standard cheers
These are AMax springs right? How have they been in terms of quality?
nice new wheels👌
kyle fraser thanks bud! Appreciate it
Are these Apex springs? thanks
Are these apex springs and how low did you go
Yo whats size the lowering spring? Thanks
Sri alloys are nice :) just threw a pair on mine, kinda want to make them gloss black with orange vauxhall badges in the middle
ictdude1 nice dude! That will looks sweet
Hi! what's the size and name of the socket I need to insert into the drill to remove the wheels?
Fantastic content you have!
Overindulging 17mm on a corsa C :)
How much lower were the springs? 40mm? 50mm?
What mm was these springs and what brand James?
thx for this great DIY , very helpful !
btw does the tires rub ?
Montassar Trabelsi nope no rubbing!
Nice tutorial bud.
retrorestore Thanks bud appreciate it!
How comfortable are Amax springs?
low or high profile tyres??
How do you like the springs? are they worth the money?
What size springs are they
What is the name of your lowering spring?
The Savage Garage are these Apex springs?
gonna be doing this to my corsa in a couple days so perfect timing haha
niallgreene1 Haha I'm glad I could give you some insight into what you need to do! Best of luck let me know how you get on!
got on good, the front strut bolts and anti roll bar link bolt were a pain but got there in the end.
gonna be using your inner tie rod video in a couple days too lol, goes without saying but love the channel haha
Nice! I thought you give up on the project
Given it a lot of thought after seeing this video a while ago and seriously considering lowering my corsa. What's the car like now after a few months of driving round? Is it awkward over speed bumps? Your set up is how I was wanting to do it with the sri alloys and lowering springs but I have a lot of speed bumps in my area and feel it would be a pain.
Look forward to seeing more videos, you doing the crankshaft sensor next?
I live in a highly populated speedbump area, you do have to slow down a little more than normal but 30mm really isnt that much of a drop. Car turns way better though on the corners! And with the sri's sits beautifully!
Hey! I am looking to lower my Corsa too! How many mm does this drop your car? :)
Can you still use wheel spacers when it’s this low, or will it rub on the arch?
think you should be aight
Do u really need to remove the wheel when doing the rear end ? Also, when doing the rear end, I think the lower shock bolt needs to be torqued at exactly the height where the vehicle is seated otherwise the lower shock bushing will be prestressed.
What's the song called?
i legit subscribed cause of your name lol
Hi I am thinking of buy a corsa 1.2 sxi for my second car but are the timing chain good and how much would it cost to replace
XPumpedVideosX depends if the timing chain is noisy if it is then you should replace it
XPumpedVideosX chains are fine, as the guy above said if it's noisy then change it :) my project sxi videos pretty much show the whole job and more
spot on this video, what do they lower it? looks like 40mm all around
Nizmo.HD You guessed right! 40mm front and back :)
Dp they knock?
project sri?????
Yellow springs give 15% to 18% more hp than red ones.
U have Corsa? :o in poland thid hat have Honda Maniac
What's the song at 3:00
What springs did you use I forgot to ask 7 months ago 😂😂
What mm springs
What mm were these?
Good job but may as well put new top mounts on at the same time. As they look like they will fail sooner rather than later .
Hello man 👏 enjoyed the video 🎥 I'm planning on buying a corsa c soon 🚗 I'm planning on doing some minor upgrades like introduction kit , back box , tinted windows etc and also lowering it im wondering what size is the springs in the back are they 40 or 60mm? thanks man 🚗
Unknown Hidden 40mm sits perfectly, that's what I have dude
The Savage Garage thanks man 👍
How much is this lowered?
I'm putting angel eyes on my corsa c next then lowering after that so thanks man, did you declare this to your insurance company?:P
So lower the car but dont replace the shocks with the knackered bushes 👍👍👍. Top lad.
And now it is really better ???? I noticed that the front and the back of your car (the suspension arms) are quiet rusty .....and plenty of pieces all around ...and the damper cups needs to be changed too, they were rusty as hell ... Other than that ...good video ...and tuto . I have a Corsa C .Is this your private garage ?
Patrick Michel Yea the whole underneath of my car is quite rusty. Previous owner left it in long grass I believe.
How's the impact wrench holding up ?
Thomas robinson Pretty good so far.. Although battery life isn't amazing
Please reply!!!! Since putting them on what's the ride like would you say it's better or? I'm thinking of doing this but I'm worried bout scraping everything 🙄
savage brooks the general ride isn't really any different! But speed bumps are obviously a little harder on the ride, cornering is improved though! And obviously the look of the car is drastically improved!
The Savage Garage thanks mate 👍🏼💯💯
love the video is cool
diesel cole Thankyou dude
The Savage Garage can you please do a rebilde of a halfords advance swivel head rachet please thanks.☺
diesel cole That's quite specific but if it means I get to buy a new tool then I'll see what I can do!
The Savage Garage thank alot and you should get your self some overalls have LOL it will stop you from getting you good clothing all dirty. but thanks for that.
the savage garage good video can u please make new toolbox tour
