I also have a special tool for pushing back the brake calliper piston, it's called a crowbar. Good video, but you should emphasise the need to grind off rust from the brake calliper carrier and hub and regrease the sliding pins. Garages always rush these parts so simple jobs like these are often done more thoroughly a good DIY mechanic.
Exactly how I do this job except I don't have the luxury of a host so have to use a jack. One very important thing is to remove the Brake Fluid reservoir cap and monitor the level of the brake fluid when pushing back the calliper piston as it might overflow and make a mess on your paintwork.. Thank you for these Corsa C how-to vids. They are very basic but show everything reasonably clearly. Would have been nice if the mechanic could explain why he selected the one pad over the other to fit that clip!

Those are Disc Pad Wear Indicator Clips. When your disc pads are worn down to minimum thickness this clip will scrape against the disc and make a screeching sound to indicate to you to replace the disc pads. Regards Dave form South Africa
Looks like a tool an experienced mechanic would manufacture himself using bits and pieces ;) and the piston has to be pushed back because the new brake pads are thicker than the old worn ones so, this makes it possible to put the calipers with the new pads back over the new discs..

You are absolutely right. When replacing, be sure to clean the parts from rust and lubricate the moving parts.

You are forgetting to clean the hubs to ensure the new discs sit flat against the hubs. Otherwise this will cause brake juddering.

Don't you spray brake cleaner on discs to remove grease. Then add some to the pads before applying?

I had this problem yesterday. Screw the calliper back on without the old brake pads then get a long screw driver and lever it back. Works a treat
a G-clamp works a treat !
You are forget check and clean caliper pins and lubricate slicone paste, also you don't clean brake discs before install brake pads.Best Regards.
