I think he has his reasons to slow down on his chess climb for a while. But I believe we'll see him come back for that 2k ELO mark soon. Check out this video stream from him: ruclips.net/video/DLFyPFFtfiI/видео.htmlsi=hciuazfRtLb6frOq&t=155

I love Tyler approaching this like a meathead! He breathes some fresh air into the stiff chess community.

Haha that's one way to look at it! One thing we both can agree on: the chess community really needs to take itself less seriously. 🥳

Tyler said he mostly plays on his phone

I've seen him saying that. Although I find it hard to picture Tyler playing chess on a phone, super chill, with his kid on his arms. 🤣

@@ImpostorChesswhen his daughter was born, he said he plays on his phone with her sleeping on her stomach. Guy's as wholesome as he is big lmao

this is just a superficial take on what this beast is actually doing.
in league of legends, he also just one-tricked one champion, instead of building a well diversified pool.
he spammed it all the way to the top and then did what?
he started playing other roles and other champs and reached the top with them as well! no one else has done that.
it appears to me that he likes to sacrifices options/diversity just to train that one strategy, for the purpose of gaining game-sense.
once that is accomplished, he will reach the top and then, he will take on other strategies and playstyles.
this is what he did in lol.
this guy is gifted, dont underestimate him.

We do agree to some extent! I also think he's a best and I don't recall underestimating him (I truly think he will reach the 2000 ELO mark). Thing is that this mark is not even half-way to "reach the top" of chess and I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for him to get there. Although I would pay good money to watch a NakamuraVsTyler1 match! 😂

PS: I don't know French as well haha. This is all Google Translator.

Hey, nice video! You definitely can't master chess playing only one opening and I think that any strong player will see through the fog, attack him and punish his dubious opening play. I'm 2000 and I'm starting to sweat he will surpass me but altough I've played chess for 3 times as long as him, I've played 3 times less rapid games

Yea we think alike! Although I've got a few more steps to go before I reach your level of chess. 😊
