'You Never Had It - An Evening with Bukowski' takes you back to January of 1981 to experience the never-before seen footage of writer Charles Bukowski during an intimate evening interview with Silvia Bizio at his home in San Pedro, California.
Directed by Matteo Borgardt and produced by subject and journalist Silvia Bizio.
You Never Had It - An Evening with Bukowski will premiere on August 7th, 2020 and be available virtually through slamdance.com/ and your favorite local cinemas. Witness a time capsule of a night with a literary legend while supporting independent film and art house cinemas.

Good, deep and sincere writer. One of my favourite poets and authors his brutal honesty was so refreshing. And, of course, Chinaski, my favorite literary character

holly lord this is so exiting. im a young man who is into bukowski. started with ham on rye. and stil thougth thats the best thing i ever read. read couple of story books. reading hollywood now. and more im getting into him i feel empty with the fact that hes being death. so by nowing him he is getting paler and paler for me in a sad way. more i know him more he dissepear. bu now with this movie. he is gonna turn someting real and alive for me. its something divine that its happening.

In "The madness of writing" page 181 in a letter bukowski wrote to John Martin on February 24th, 1981 he wrote about the producer of this film, Silvia Bizio. I wont tell you guys what he said but I bet no one here has ever read it and what Bukowski himself thought about this documentary and Italians... 🤣🤣
