my Scorched Stratagy: Private World bast, If your after presents, TAKE Tons of Workshops and Place SANTA Collectrons, (Best trick for this, Foundation 3 Stairs up, a few Floors, Place collectron on the top, Then Blue Print it ... Step 1. Take a Workshop, Step 2. Then soon as it is taken, open Map, and Teleport to that Workshop and move just into the work shop area to go into Build mode as close to where you land as possible, Place your Blueprint) ... NOW it will be near landing spot, away from most attacks, Shooty Mobs are generally the only ones who would mess with it if they spawn near it, IF so kill them, Normally the events enemy cluster near the center of workshop no where near your collectron. SO generally NO DOING EVENTS, I dont even do the first one. (PS dont forget to put a Santa Collectron at your base as well) ... then I start makign rounds of Legendary scorched locations, I dont go after the spawing ones around fissure sites because as Bloody it just isnt worth it, I can make a Round minus them easy, everything will be up and collectrons I hit as I travel around the Holiday Scorched Route. ALSO if Doing events with scorched, if live world wait for more players, It will increase the number of scorched that spawn. ... as for buying Plans, IT is so easy to get 1000s of Presents this way, its a waste, NOTE: Presents weight 1lb each, so Make sure to open them like once a round as you are scribbing, and etc ... Also it will give you the ammo for the GUN you have out, so Make sure to equipe a gun you want LOTS of ammo for ... I generally have a Base or my Survival Tent near a Train station So I can Scrib, Open Pressents, Scrap the junk, store the ammo, and sell the Boozem Grenades and stuff I dont need. then do another round on the Holiday Scorched/Collectron Route.
I got the actual backpack skin on my first medium gift, lol it was the only thing I wanted, made up for not having any glowing fasnacht drop after over 200 events done.
In a private server if you own 15 workshops it will generate 100 gifts per hour. You can build it so the collectron doesnt get damaged during retake events so you dont need to do them.

Satatron in the middle surrounded by concrete defense a turret on each corner. Save this blueprint and place it at every workshop. Set a timer for a hour and then go rinse and empty

This event totally sucks for new players. My whole friend list has disappeared for a week, whether thats the broken map issues or that they are playing on private servers only I don't know. Then all these tips and tactics to use the Santatron, and they don't even put that up for sale in the Atomic Shop this week, so us newer players cannot even use that method. FO76 has been a near absolute graveyard this past week and I cannot wait for this idiotic event to end.

Join the scorched events, you get way more than with the collectron, I promise you, also get the medium gift wrapping papers from the vendors, the collectron is overhyped tbh
They broke the game. The dailies and weeklies are broken. Quest markers are broken. Sometimes all the location markers fail to spawn in. The map pretty much always defaults to the top left. It's broken. To add insult to injury, there is also no Santa Collectron, so new players can't even farm the new event efficiently. PS. Curiously the private servers don't have the same issues.
That's unlucky .. some guy commented they got 20+ gifts from just fast traveling across different locations. But don't worry, you'll run across plenty as the two weeks play out.
Pro tip. Private serv. Claim workshops. Set up any collectron that can collect gifts. There ya go. Go afk defend when u gotta get free gifts already got 15 in 10 mins
You just install it at your camp or workshop. If it's the Santa collectron then it'll automatically start collecting santa items, with a chance to get gifts.
It's not a specific event. All it does is turn some scorched into holiday scorched. You can find them all around the world or at events where scorched normally are at.
I am new and ran around killing loads for about an hour. Server hopped 3 times. I have 1 gift - thanks to the event at Morgantown. At this rate I won't get my daily quest for the scorched done.
I've noticed that the scorched in the world are giving less legendaries than events. Might be part of the glitches with the latest update but it's impossible to know for sure. I'd recommend making sure you participate in events like Collision Course and Line in the Sand. Those seem to be more generous.

Went farming right now after hell divers, and i got about 20 small , 9 holiday , and 3 large in over an hour and a half hitting up old locations 💪

Yeah, bigger gift boxes don't guarantee a plan so you'll often end up with those types of items.
