  • I was shocked at the results of this resin experiment, my jaw literally dropped. It is amazing what you can do and the future resin projects that can be made using this technique. I wasn't sure if this would work or if there would be a reaction that caused problems with the curing.

I saw someone make a resin flower in a coaster using uv rather than pigment paste. Once the flower got the shape and feathering they wanted, they cured the uv.

Cool idea. Not something I would have thought to try. By accident (and an almost ruined Christmas present), I discovered that uv resin and epoxy resin have different refractive indexes. I made a pyramid night light and used uv resin to position certain features. I thought that the uv (clear) resin would disappear when I poured the next layer of epoxy resin. Nope. You could clearly see where the uv resin was. I have been trying to think of a way to use this property to do something creative, but I haven't come up with anything yet. Maybe you can 😁.

Looks really cool. I used white pigment in UV resin on some small bracelet sized skulls. The resin would harden on the outside so if I removed the skulls from the mold I'd squeeze the little heads like a pimple, lol. I finally took them outside to cure and it took almost 6 hours because it was very cloudy out that day.

Read in the comments about injecting the UV resin in to produce flowers, sorry couldn't find the comment again but it is a fantastic idea.
There are RUclips videos of people making jelly cakes (?) and injecting coloured jelly into the clear jelly base and producing the most beautiful creations. They might give you some wonderful ideas. It's fascinating as the design is done from the bottom and only when turned over do you see wonderful flowers.
Wishing you and your family a great New Year.

That was interesting :) thanks for the show! I use my UV Resin with my 2 part resin when I make chess boards😊😊… the squares Are made with uv resin… and once I have cured the squares, I will give them a good scratching so when I mix up my two part epoxy resin and pour it over the squares to make the board, the two part will have something to grab on to with the squares … I do the boards like that because it’s a lot easier to keep the resin from overflowing in those little square wells… I never would have thought about doing what you did with the uv resin😮 that was brilliant!

Love your channel! I'll have to try this method. Just wanted to let you and others know that you may want to ask jdiction to verify the content of their kits before you place an order. Love their resin, it's all I've ever used. Last order I made was for a kit I'd gotten previously. (80 oz crystal clear kit) but when they (I'd ordered 3 kits) arrived it was only resin and stir sticks. Contacted them and they said it's all they're including now even though their website says otherwise (still does today and I brought it to their attention at least a month ago). So I'm scared to order any additional kits from them since they apparently can decide to just not honor what they advertise.
