What Ted did aside, and not sure what his ministry taught so not commenting there, if he really sought forgiveness/repentance is between him/God, I have a lot of issues with how the church handled the situation. As I understand in the Bible, Paul rebuked a church for banishing a member for some really evil acts even after he had fully repented of his sins. I know that according to the Bible, Ted is unable to maintain a pastoral role and anything higher than probably an usher, but to banish him completely from his own congregation after he sought amends, that bothered me. It did seem like he got a little "drunk on the fame" which is hard to see at the moment but it is easy in retrospect. Ultimately I felt the worst for his wife and kids especially who were victims of his misdeeds and it was made worse by the actions of the church leaders too. Also, credit to the producer for being respectful of the situation and what was going on and telling it like it is. That is hard to see these days, especially in documentaries about churches. And the use of Moby Natural Blues was a nice touch too =)
I attended this church and the moment I stepped in I knew it was trouble I meant Ted and I was sad for him Knowing he would fall, See the people made him their God they placed him on a Pedastool so of course he fell ,This Church was radical and did not follow the Bible they hurt many people and tried to break me, I once had a meeting for counseling and I admitted to being Homosexual the man ( Not Ted Haggard ) Asked if I was delivered I said Yes the day I was Baptized I was set free, He Disagreed and gathered people for prayer one being my former partner who they did not know was also gay He also stood in the room as they shout and screamed at me while I sat in a chair and they screamed for demons to come out they finaly said go get the oil ......They made me drink it and man that was awful I threw up they said it was the demons ......The Holy Spirit told me to be brave and not to run , I went home and was led to false teachings the next day I called the Pastor to tell him whathad happened and how his Counselors did a exorcism on me ,He was very upset and did several sermons on how wrong the experience was , I left Colorado years later I heard of this happening and I felt so bad for Ted Haggard as I could imagine if he ever went to his church and confessed his struggle they would of place him on a stake and burned him alive......How dare these peopel show the hatred towards this man and not his sins how dare they did not Love and Pray for him much less forgive Him .......The Bible warns these Mega Churches ......Many will come before me and I shall say be away from me for I do not know you ,..........
The church leadership had the spirit of control and manipulation. Since Haggard was in such shame, he'd to do anything those Pharisees told him. Guarantee those leaders had their own skeletons. Haggard's wife knew the true love of Christ and helped to keep the family's shame at bay.
I am so glad that Ted allowed the Lord to restore him. My heart goes out to him. I am proud of him for recieveing God's love and forgiveness. Good Job Ted. We are grateful to the Lord for you.
I’m glad his wife stayed with him and worked on the relationship. The letter in which he outed himself was an act of courage and repentance. If the apostle Paul were alive today, there would’ve been some form of discipline, but there also would’ve been reconciliation upon confession and repentance. This man was convicted in his heart, and he confessed and came clean. It’s too bad people don’t realize that they’re just very blessed and privileged not to maybe struggle with a deep sin or mental illness. But petty mean misses just a sin as much as anything else. And we’re not talking about a guy who flee his flock for millions or raped young girls. I think they should be more forgiving. 17:03
Well, that’s what I get not being able to write on my phone and having to dictate it to Siri. And voiceover. Why is it? The church seems to forgive the wrong people? Doing the best he can scripturally. He didn’t have to out himself, but he did. He confessed. This is disgusting. I noticed the video is called the Megachurch scandal, not the Ted Haggard scandal. Bernard, certain behaviors bring about disqualification. This guy was forgiven if he asked to be, but he should not step foot in a pulpit and definitely he should never be a pastor again
He is proof of a repentant heart and he has a wife, friends and family that support him, he does have a ways to go & may never pastor a church again but he is still a minister for God once he comes out of his "recovery" & testing time. All shepherds should heed this warning! At least he's not trying to hide his sin! He's not the first pastor to fall in such a way! We are all tempted as this!

Well from a Christian point of view we should hope this man truly repents from his sin and turns to God for forgiveness. At the end of the day if he repents and turns from his sin there is no reason why we should condemn him to hell. We have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. God’s mercy and forgiveness is given to those who truly seek him with a broken and repented heart. If that’s his case then praise God. If he is still struggling with homosexual tendencies then I hope he can overcome his struggles before it is too late.
He never really took responsibility for his actions. He was so obsessed with the fact that his former church wouldn't forgive him. I'm sure they gave him chance after chance after...but he continued to minimize and lie, then change the story. I'm sure they simply got tired not only at the utter seediness of his acts, but that he kept going back to it and lying about it. The worst is that he doesn't seem to grasp the idea of being Christ-like toward all, especially to the gay community that has suffered so much bigotry and there's Ted, still spewing his hatred.

I feel for the guy, eventho he used to kind of seem like a jackass.. I mean he's just a human being.
And the use of Moby Natural Blues was a nice touch too =)
"He got a little drunk on fame"?? Huge understatement for his multiple illegal acts and hypocrisy over several years.

I mean Mike Biddle and Rick what the heck was his name Rick somebody Had their scandals too and people were just take them back even if they don’t repent. Here’s a guy who’s taking it on the chin. 2) David desperately wanted to build God a temple, but God said no because he had too much blood on his hands.
He never really took responsibility for his actions. He was so obsessed with the fact that his former church wouldn't forgive him.
