What if I have 2 different Macs and I turn on iCloud for Desktop/Documents for both? Will it create separate folders on for each Mac or single folder that shared by both Macs?
Most game data will sync back down, but not all. Our suggestion for those (and for RUclips) is to make sure you are signed into those apps with an account, and sign in with the same account on your other devices. This way all that data sync's within the ecosystem of the app (e.g. RUclips syncs with RUclips.) iCloud isn't always going to sync all that data for you.
@@MyMacMentor I see. Theres a method by downloading discord with the same apple id from appstore, then discord will be on icloud. If you jailbreak you ipad, it allows you to download a version of discord thats allowed for ipad. I am trying to find a way to download discord through an another apple device and get discord on my icloud. I only have a ipad3 and macbook air.
@@MaliturStudio While yes you can use the same Apple ID for your AppStore on both iPad OS and macOS (and you should), Discord itself is a different app on those two platforms. So if you download the macOS version it will not automatically download the iPad OS version, you still need to download the app from the app store. In either case, neither are tied to iCloud itself, only the fact that they both use your same Apple Account. We don't help with jailbreak scenarios, but since you have 2 pretty modern devices, just go into the App Store on both and download the appropriate app, and then sign in with the same credentials in both instances of Discord.
I’m initializing a new iPad (I have an iPhone 13 and a MacBook, both up to date). I’m at the point where the iPad is pulling all my stuff from the Cloud and it’s still grinding away 17 hrs later. The amount of data showing on the Cloud is 58G of 200G available. I don’t know how to check the progress, so I don’t even know whether anything is actually happening or not. Any thoughts? (I also don’t see a way to interrupt or cancel.) Another detail: I did have to change my iCloud password in order to begin the process, because I couldn’t log in to the Cloud initially on the iPad (I use face recognition on my phone, and lost password🙄.)
If it’s a brand new device and it’s giving you a little trouble, cancel it and start it over. Worst case scenario, if you haven’t used it, it most likely doesn’t have any data on there that’s not on the cloud (you would know better), so you could wipe and start over. But ENSURE you have everything in the cloud first!
@@MyMacMentor Thanks! That's what I did. Interestingly, it went differently than the first time, meaning, when I got past the preliminaries, it offered an update, which I accepted. After the update shutdown and startup, it went straight to "restoring" the date from the Cloud, and I got a progress bar with it. The first time, it asked me to sign in to the Cloud, and then, (after I changed my password) it just started with the little wheel turning (with no end in sight). It was interesting to me that process was different the second time, even though I erased the iPad. Maybe because the Cloud recognized it from the first attempt, I guess. One the things that happens as a result of not really knowing what you're doing is you get surprised by what happens sometimes!😆🤣😆
I have foto's in the cloud from my macbook however not the foto´s on my iPhone, if I synchronise iCloud on my phone will I get what's already in the cloud on my phone and it will delete the foto´s that are currently on my phone?
Hi, i already installing new macos version and erase all data and begin from like new. I already logged in my icloud but why my icloud drive not downloading all my files from cloud to my mac ? it's already a day the icloud drive on finder doesnt show anything. I already turn on the sync on setting
@@MyMacMentor my case already solved, I unchecklist on the Preferences > Icloud > Icloud Drive and then I check it again. And my icloud drive started to downloading
Hi CA. The downloads folder doesn't not sync to iCloud. Only Documents and Desktop. That's an apple control. The downloads folder was not designed to be long term storage.

If I download Discord on mac, put the file or app in the icloud, can I access that on my Ipad (old) and install it?
Hi - that's not how that works at all. You would have to download Discord the app on your iPad directly. thanks!

How do I get Desktop and Document Folders on my iPad?
Hi @AmberWarner-y9y - use the Files app on your iPad. If you don't see it, you can get it in the App Store.
I have foto's in the cloud from my macbook however not the foto´s on my iPhone, if I synchronise iCloud on my phone will I get what's already in the cloud on my phone and it will delete the foto´s that are currently on my phone?
No - it _should_ merge all your photos (local and icloud) together into iCloud.
