Finally found a person that has natural curly hair and likes straightening it and won't judge for it. I have natural curls and while I love my hair very much, I also like straightening it, I believe you can have healthy hair while heat styling, it's just a matter of taking good care and using heat tools properly. New sub!!
Thank you for this comment. This is what I needed to read. I’m stuck between buying quality products and style is once a week instead of taking care of my loose curls everyyyydaaay. It’s such a maintenance compared to blow dry it once.
Exactly!! I still don’t understand why only black girls get judged just for blow drying their hair and using a straightening tool!! When most of women, all over the worlds do the same thing! They style it and no problem.
Strong genetics! Also great to see someone who doesn't heat shame people on their natural hair. I use heat about daily and I always get comments not to because of damage but I care for my hair as well to prevent more damage.
Not here for the shaming! It’s on your head so you do what you want with it 🙌🏽 especially that I’ve been able to grow and take care of mine while still using heat. I think everyone just finds what works for them and everyone’s hair is different. Thanks so much for watching 🖤
I have a lot of hair too, so I section off my hair into four sections in the back, two in the top and one each side. So much easier to work with! Love your videos and thanks for your time, helping others!
Ok so I've never commented on a video before but I have to comment on yours. 1) you are so insanely beautiful 2) your hair is amazing But 3) I've seen some comments that other RUclipsrs possibly would've responded to in a rude manner or with attitude but you are so genuinely kind regardless of comments made. Canadian pride! 💟
Omg Meagan stoooop! Your making my day🤗 those are such nice things to say. Thank you I so appreciate it. Hahaha just aiming to kill them with kindness instead 😂 plus it’s hard to read ppls tones so I just give them the benefit of the doubt
@@CoraliesCloset oh you’re Canadian, your niceness makes sense now 😩😂 I’ve been trying to figure out how you can be so kind all this time 😩😂 people like you are not common here in London. You’re a gem 🤍
You can get even better results with a hard boar bristle brush instead of the comb, I switched years ago and I can really feel a difference. You did a great job btw ✨🤍👏🏾
Great video! I’ve been natural for four years, but have cut my hair several times. Now I’m thinking of growing it full force :). I have not straightened my hair yet. I am so scared my coils and curls will not bounce back - Question - what temp do you straighten your hair on ? And what is your texture ( fine, medium, course), what is your hair porosity ( high, medium or low ). I have medium to course, high porosity - 4a curls and coils. I love my texture - but would like to try straight styling during winter months - WITH OUT Heat damage - I pray - Would love your tips to my questions above -
I have low porosity 4b/4c natural hair. I use the SheaMoisture Power Protein Treatment and the Raw Shea Butter Deep Moisture Treatment to revive my hair when I wash it after straightening, and I use a heat cap. Then I use the Chi Silk Infusion Revitalizing complex, the lottabody blow drying cream, the garnier fructis sleek and shine anti-frizz serum, and a heat protectant and put it in my hair. I also use a heat cap to make the products soak into my hair. Dont put any leave in or sheabutter or creams with humectants before straightening. and wrap nightly or do pin curls or flexi rods.
also get a titanium iron if you have medium to coarse hair. I use a cheaper version of the babyliss titanium flat iron that I got for $50 and a black color, and I use like 420 degrees. I have medium to coarse strands also, but fine in the front
Love this video so much! Will definitely start taking your hair advice. I’ve had a little past shoulder length hair I feel like my whole life. I just wanted to ask, I know you put a combination of oils on your scalp and ends but after you have freshly washed and straightened your hair, when do you apply and how often, doesn’t it make your hair oily right away? Thank you!
Every 2-3 weeks, sometimes more. I do have some but it hasn’t stopped my hair from growing and it’s healthy enough for me 🤷🏽♀️ I have a video where I share my tips to grow your hair while heat styling if you want to check that out!
@@catsrus-es9eu not sure bc obvi I’m not her lol but my hair gets looser the longer it gets and her hair is longer than mine so it’s prob from that and the heat training made her curls able to remain stretched. So both heat n length plays part in the curl. Judging from her roots her hair is probably type 3
trust me my hair was soooo puffy and naturally super curly (I still have it) And now when I straightener looks amazing Just look at my pfp, never lose hope!!
Thanks so much! So glad you do!! I just use a hair oil whenever I feel my hair needs it. Doing a straight hair maintenance vid soon so I’ll share more then 🤗
Tip!!: do NOT put oil in directly before applying heat bc it literally cooks the oil on to your hair therefore increasing buildup and adds weird smell. If you do oil right after, hair is still warm to help absorb in cuticle but doesn’t burn oil into hair !!
Your hair looks really good when u just blowdry it and not straighten. Do u ever just blowdry your hair and not straighten it until the next time u wash it?
When you go on a one week vacation on a resort with pool, beach, sand, sunscreen , humidity. How do you maintain straight hair while on this type of vacation? Do you wash your hair everyday if you wear sunscreen like how do we curly hair girls maintain presentable nice hairstyle while on this type of vacation
I don’t stress about having straight hair on vacay. I typically arrive with straight hair and do a bun/up-dos to keep the humidity out of it but eventually I get in the water or whatever and it reverts. Then I’ll keep going with sleek buns or just leave it out sometimes. Click through my Mexico story highlight on ig for an example. Hope that helps 🖤
