    My youngest sister, 57 years old, has smokers lines- very severe. She has never smoked. It does not run in our family. My theory is that she is a sign language interpreter, making lots of extreme facial movements 40 hours per week!

My sister in law smoked never wore sunscreen plus has bad genetics she looked 50 at 30 now 50 looks 75 :( I put number 110 on my face and chest , not bad for almost 58, I just started wearing sunscreen in my late 30’s as lines appeared , my parents still don’t wear it ! It’s slowing the wrinkles. A little anyways

    Lady's Stop using straws when you drink your drink.
    Stay away from it straw.
    That also cause lip lines.
    Save lip line.
    When u use straw, it's like smoking a cigarette.
    Don't ever use straw 😁 that help allot too.
    just drink from cup without a straw. And save the planted while your at it. Keep from getting into the ocean.

    I saw a man the other day who had upper lip lines, so I think some can get them. I also have been deliberately looking at all men’s necks. Their necks seem to wrinkle & sag just as much as everyone else’s do. We sometimes don’t notice because they have them covered up with a shirt & tie. Personally nowadays I think women are aging much better than men.

      @@amd8095 People think their hair grows back thicker, meaning each hair is thicker, because when you shave a hair and it pops through the skin, it's blunt on the end. Hairs are typically pointed, so a blunted end feels very different until you get used to the process. You'll love how your skincare applies and absorbs into your skin. I find less is needed. Also, foundation and other cream products look lovely. What's the worse that can happen? You don't like it and you let your face get hairy again.

    I am 41 and just starting on Retin-A. Excited! I've used Differin for about 8 months, and before that, a couple of years of The Ordinary retinol - all with really good results. These more intense interventions like deep peels etc kind of scare me, though. I heard someone say they used a dual fraxel laser and it made their skin sag, and it's never recovered. I worry about this type of thing. OTOH, I've heard that hormone replacement therapy for post-menopausal women keeps the collagen quite intact and skin from sagging. This supposedly comes with risks of cancer, ahh - but what I heard is that in fact the risks are overstated and are not really that bad (provided it's started early enough). I am not at the stage of requiring this yet, but I will be looking into it more. Until then, I am very happy with my retinoic acid and my Vitamin C cream from Derma-E, which always brightens up my skin.
    Thanks for your videos! 💐😊

So I looked younger than my years for most of my life, and still do actually. At 60 I still get mistaken for 45 unless people look closely, and I have almost NO grey or white hair! The real reason for lip lines is probably that men have thicker skin than women, not just on the face but on the hands and arms as well. It's nothing to do with talking or hairy faces, in my opinion. Also hormones possibly play a role in thinning skin.

    • @whatwhat8524
      @whatwhat8524 2 года назад +3

      Absolutely! The skin on a whole man's body ages slower than a women's. We shave our legs but our leg skin ages faster than a man who doesn't shave his legs. If it was talking, you would see a dramatic difference between people like professors and teachers who talk and give lectures all day from people who have jobs that don't require much verbalization like truck drivers.

    Another simple reason people can get upper lip lines is from sleeping on our sides or on the stomachs. It creases the skin every night for hours. Heredity really has a lot to do with it too. Vitamins do help. I used mango butter on my face because the molecules are too large to plug up pores. Most people think I look 10-15 years younger than my age. Also scowling is something I avoid as well. Not wearing sunglasses causes people too squint or not wearing your prescription glasses and mire squinting. Not drinking enough water also causes wrinkles. I also rinse my face with water a few times a day & let it air dry. Rarely wear makeup as it can age women just by putting too much on.

      I've found shaving is just as good and less expensive than buying the one touch device and replacement blades. The end results are the same imo. An over the counter retinoid (such as Differin) or Tretinoin (dr prescription) work to stimulate collagen along with Vit C and Niaminicides.

    Doctor, thank you for the video, but whether face shaving/derma-planing will not force fair to grow thicker on face? I really concern about 😬

    • @lynnharris6877
      @lynnharris6877 2 года назад +3

      It does not cause more or thicker hair. If that were true, I would have a full beard and mustache from shaving several times per week.

    • @meganNefarious
      @meganNefarious 2 года назад

      shaving does not cause your hair to thicken. It just cuts it off with a blunt edge instead of a tapered uncut hair so it doesn't feel as smooth.

    I must have won the genetic lottery. I'm 66, I smoked, worked in the full sun for 25+ years, am pale-medium color. No retinoids, no dermatology "procedures". I have 0 lines on my face. And I do mean 0. My grandmother had 0 lines at 86. I have some bags and sags but very few. What I did have was extremely oily skin, and acne way into my 40s, and the t-zone is still oily. I only started a true skin care regimen less than 2 years ago. Most guess I'm around 50-55. I'm OK with that!

      Can we do a full, bare face video consultation appointment with Dr. Lim? And then receive a ‘referral’ of top docs in our vicinity for whatever procedures he thinks would work…as if he were going to perform them himself? 🙏🏼

    I’m a 55 y.o. female and I don’t have upper lips wrinkles. I think that is because since very early age, I was forced to use lip balm every night because of my dry lips. I put the balm on my lips and outside the lip line. I always have lip balm next to my bed.
