    I believe Justin Timberlake had a great idea to put stuff in a box. Great video as usual, you make it look effortless.

    thanks for the tutorial on the chamfering part it was helpful. I was having difficulty with overlapping chamfer and fillets and you kinda explained why I was.

      Yea those can be tricky, but once you know what’s going on there’s always a solution ;)

    Thanks for taking the time to reply. I watched the thread video. That’s a good way. Your videos are really helpful. If you make a video with draft angles for tooling I think that would be really popular. Thanks.

      None of my videos are too popular because this is a niche channel 😂 but I will add that to the list as I have some projects coming up that require draft angles anyways ✌️

    This is excellent. Super helpful. I was doing this via extrusion/shell/split body and then doing an offset of half the wall thickness then extrudung the base and lid separately.. For some reason it kept leaving an artifact face when I extruded the interior of the lid down. I am going to try what you just did amd see if it works better.

      Let me know how it works out ✌️

      @@JLake3D it worked fantastically well. I printed it without adding any tolerance and it was pretty snug so I went back and added some tolerance. But the main thing is that I never would have thought of extruding the bottom face as a new body and then subtracting. I'm new to this so that was a huge time saver! Thanks again!

    Very useful. Thanks. Do you have any similar videos that allow for tolerances and draft angles for mold tooling?

    • @JLake3D
      @JLake3D  4 месяца назад +1

      I have a video on how to make molds, but I did not include draft angles into it. For tolerances, if you watch my new threads video, I somewhat go into that a bit.
      For draft angles, a simple way to make them is when you extrude use the little arrow that pops up to set a specific angle. Or if you are doing it after the fact, you can use the sketch, sweep and subtract tools to get the job done. I might make a video on this topic in the future, but super busy atm.

    Items like this where its transparent (Really Nice Design btw). My question is, am I supposed to remove the lid in order to print? If I were to print it with the lid on, would it print the lid to the bottom part of the box?

    • @JLake3D
      @JLake3D  3 месяца назад

      Yes it would melt together so for printing you would have to separate the pieces and orient them correctly or just use your slicer to do it. Most slicers these days have options to orient parts and lay them flat on the print bed. 👍

      Thats actually a big part of why i’m working on a video to do with finances. I love doing these projects and I want to improve the quality of my videos. But to do that I need support for this channel. As of now I do these videos in my spare time just screen recording my ipad. I want to do full on projects with better quality videos and content because I have tons of ideas. For that I would need time off work, and would only be able to do it if I had enough monthly members. But anyways, thats coming up :)

    "Mating box" -- I was expecting something a bit more racy. 😂
    I need to play with split body more. Thankfully, I knew the other stuff, but I still work so much slower than you.
    I watched the whole thing btw. Thanks for another expert video. 👍

      Speed is just cuz i have so much practice with this type of project. Sometimes i’ll sit there looking at it for 5 mins just thinking about what step to make next 👌
