I am fascinated about how your 3D design is Progressing and the proper programs are used to design and print.Thank you Jim.

At first it looks like you're building RTD2 can't wait to see what it looks like when it's finished

Many thanks for watching. Definitely the easiest design software that I have ever used.

I think your definition of “easy to use” is a little different than mine. The learning curve on these CAD programs is very steep. You are very talented. I’m still struggling with Tinkercad!

Thank you very much. I struggle with Tinkercad and Blender, Shapr3D is much easier, there is a walk through tutorial with the program and this got me designing complex structures within minutes. Many thanks for watching.

This is super easy my kids use it at school and my 3D printer has never been used so much since the school switched from freecad to this

Thanks for taking the time to make the video and show us an actual 3D printed product from the Shapr3D software. Well done mate Question: the visible layer lines, is that because the Ender printer doesn't have the facility to print thinner or nearly invisible layer lines, or is this a speed / machine setting choice you made? Thank you.

I could have printed it with thinner layers and the ASA filament was probably not the best choice. I love using the software and use it several times per week, it really is amazingly easy to use. You can see it in use again in my latest video ( 3D scanning at Makers Central). Many thanks for watching.

    I am 100% new to 3D Modeling
I have a million ideas that I could print for the school my kids goto.
I just need to make them.
Would this subscription software be the best for a beginner that isn’t goin to be designing things that aren’t too terribly complicated.
Or is there a better beginner subscription software…
At first I thought I was going to have to build a workstation pc to handle the software but now it seems maybe that isn’t quite necessary.
Any help or direction would be absolutely appreciated 🙂

I can whole heartedly recd Shapr3D for beginners it is incredibly easy to use and you will be able to design surprisingly complex objects very quickly, especially if you follow their tutorials. I have tried other subscription free software but they are not as intuitive to use and usually have a very steep learning curve. Shapr3D does not require a particularly powerful computer to run it and I use it on my ipad without any issues

Your kids school email address can get them/you a free, full version. Have to verify the email annually but it's easy.

If you'll get too weak layer adhesion, your camera will fall off the mount. Try printing in other direction for stronger or safer holding.

Yes, this is just a protype, the stainless bolt running through will help with the strength too. I have found that the ball is better printed in 2 halves and bonded together with acetone afterwards.
