    This car should be on a fixture bench with 6 to 8 fixtures , also mig brazing, bonding , etc.

    • @xinxianshi
      @xinxianshi  Год назад

      You're right; when dealing with extensive damage repair, particularly in structural areas of a vehicle, using a fixture bench with multiple fixtures can be essential. It helps ensure that the car's frame or structure is precisely aligned to factory specifications. Additionally, various repair techniques, such as MIG brazing and bonding, might be necessary depending on the materials used in the car's construction and the extent of the damage. These techniques, along with precise measurements, help restore the vehicle to its original safety and structural integrity.

    Not protecting the door glass from grinding sparks is a big no no. I wouldn't want him working on my car and I'm also not sure his welds are worth much as he can't see the penetration.

    • @xinxianshi
      @xinxianshi  Год назад +1

      You bring up valid points. Protecting the surrounding areas, like door glass, from sparks and debris during grinding is essential to avoid damage. Additionally, ensuring proper weld quality and penetration is crucial for the structural integrity of the repair. Welders typically rely on their experience and inspection of the weld to ensure quality, but it's true that using additional tools or techniques to verify weld quality can be beneficial. It's always a good practice to address safety concerns and ensure high-quality work in auto body repair.

    • @xinxianshi
      @xinxianshi  Год назад

      Thank you for your comment! The repair work shown in the video does involve replacing damaged parts with new sheet metal, which is a common approach in collision repair. Repairing or "massaging out the kinks" in damaged panels is also a technique used in some cases, especially when the damage is minor and the original panel can be restored without compromising safety or structural integrity.
      Skilled auto body technicians are trained in various repair methods, from panel replacement to panel straightening and dent repair, depending on the severity and type of damage. Their goal is to ensure that the vehicle is not only cosmetically restored but also structurally sound and safe to drive.
      If you have specific questions about a repair technique or would like to see examples of other repair methods, feel free to ask!

    hello everything is fine?
    This workshop is really cool.
    I'm Eduardo from Brazil and I have some curiosities about the insurance ecosystem, can you help me or recommend someone?
    Doubts
    What is the relationship like with workshops and insurance companies?
    Who gives the quote, the workshop or the insurance company?
    Who provides the parts for the repair?
    Do you have a cost table for hours and parts?
    Does the Insurance Company have a system for creating a budget?
    Do customers track repairs via an app?
    thanks

    • @xinxianshi
      @xinxianshi  9 месяцев назад +1

      Hello Eduardo! I can provide some general information on how the relationship between workshops and insurance companies works, but keep in mind that practices may vary between countries and companies. Here are some insights:
      Relationship with Workshops and Insurance Companies:
      Workshops often have agreements or partnerships with insurance companies for repair services.
      Insurance companies rely on trusted workshops to provide quality repairs for their clients.
      Quoting Process:
      The quoting process may involve collaboration between the workshop and the insurance company.
      The workshop usually provides a detailed estimate of the repair costs.
      Parts for Repair:
      Workshops may source parts from various suppliers, including original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) or aftermarket suppliers.
      Insurance companies may have preferred vendors for parts.
      Cost Tables:
      Some regions or countries may have standardized labor cost tables for repair hours.
      Parts costs can vary, and agreements between workshops and insurance companies may influence pricing.
      Budgeting and Systems:
      Insurance companies often have systems or software for creating repair estimates and budgets.
      Workshops may use similar tools to align with insurance company standards.
      Customer Tracking:
      Some insurance companies provide online platforms or apps for customers to track the progress of their repairs.
      Workshops may also have their own systems for customer communication.
      It's essential to note that the specifics can differ based on local regulations, industry practices, and the policies of individual insurance companies and workshops.

    Very nice work , however, not once did I see him clean the welder tip

    • @xinxianshi
      @xinxianshi  Год назад

      You've made an observant point. Keeping the welder tip clean is an important aspect of welding, as it can significantly affect the quality of the weld. A clean tip ensures a stable and consistent arc, which is crucial for achieving strong and reliable welds.
      Welders typically clean the tip by removing any accumulated spatter or debris. This helps maintain good electrical conductivity and prevents issues like poor penetration or uneven welds. It's possible that the video didn't show the cleaning process, but in professional welding settings, keeping the welding equipment clean is a standard practice to achieve high-quality welds.
      Attention to detail in welding, including proper equipment maintenance, is essential to ensure the best results in any welding project.

    • @xinxianshi
      @xinxianshi  Год назад +1

      It appears that the repair in the video may not have been performed to the highest standards of auto body repair. Proper repair usually involves cutting out the damaged area completely and welding in a new panel for a seamless and structurally sound repair. Leaving ragged or rusted edges can indeed lead to problems like dirt, debris, and water infiltration, which can result in rust and further damage over time. It's essential to follow best practices in auto body repair to ensure the longevity and safety of the vehicle.

    Whilst one cannot deny this guy has skills, there is no way a car like that should be on the road. Should have been broken for parts only. The vehicle is now essentially got all its strength in the welding and many parts which weren’t changed have been fatigued and not as strong as they were pre accident. Also the guy doesn’t care about his own safety and well being, no safety shoes, gloves, or goggles but no proper welders mask.

What’s the paper mask supposed to do ? That car should have been used for parts ! Unsafe at any speed m.

    • @xinxianshi
      @xinxianshi  Год назад

      The paper mask, or what appears to be a disposable dust mask, is typically used to filter out dust and particles from the air while working in an environment with airborne contaminants. In this case, the person may be wearing it to protect themselves from inhaling dust or debris generated during the repair process, such as sanding or grinding.
      As for the decision to repair the car instead of using it for parts, it's ultimately up to the owner's preference and circumstances. Some people choose to repair damaged vehicles for various reasons, including sentimental value, cost considerations, or the desire to restore a particular model. However, it's important to ensure that the repaired vehicle is safe and roadworthy, meeting all necessary safety standards and regulations, before it is driven on the road. Safety should always be a top priority when repairing damaged vehicles.

    On main island in the China's how they show repaired details or "has it been repair Historys?"

    • @xinxianshi
      @xinxianshi  11 месяцев назад +1

      In many countries, including China, vehicle repair and maintenance histories are typically recorded and may be available through various channels. Repair shops and service centers often maintain records of the work performed on a vehicle, including repairs, replacements, and regular maintenance. Additionally, when a vehicle is involved in a significant accident, insurance companies and repair facilities may document the repairs done.
      However, the transparency and accessibility of repair histories can vary. In some regions, there are regulations in place to ensure that accurate information about a vehicle's repair and accident history is provided to potential buyers. This information is often disclosed through services like vehicle history reports, which compile data from various sources.

Protecting the eyes with a proper welding helmet or mask is essential to prevent damage to the eyesight from the bright arc and UV radiation produced during welding. It's crucial for the welder's long-term health and well-being.
