I have a new appreciation for these workers. They work hard & fast. I worked with some Pakistanis in Saudi Arabia and found their work ethics to be top notch !!
I feel so much empathy and respect for the workers in these videos. Chrome plating rims in open vats of acids and high voltage plating tanks, wearing sandals in badly ventilated areas. Running a forging press without any thermal protection, in sandals, and at a blinding pace no less. The guys are really putting in hard, dangerous work for a wage we'd be insulted by. Because they don't have the huge social safety nets of unemployment benefits, workers compensation or welfare that we take for granted. Grandma and Grampa don't have retirement benefits or pensions. Foot melted off from an acid accident in the chrome plating line? No workers compensation benefits, you better hope there's a job opening on the line that doesn't require both feet or your family goes hungry.
We have it so good, and STILL think we've got it so bad because people just can't understand how lucky we were to be born in western nations.
So much respect to these guys in these videos, so much.

In Australia children are not allowed to operate 100 ton press.
That’s because Australia doesn’t have 1Bn people struggling to maintain a culture/economy on its share of the remaining 20% of world resources after G7 countries are done with our 80% share. Stats available on line for free.
@@johnmartlew5897 That's all poppycock. They let children operate dangerous equipment because life is cheap. The amount of safety violations I've seen tells me people are easily replaceable. Overpopulation where labour is cheap and working conditions haven't changed for last 150 years is proof of people being abused by non caring business owners. That’s highly interesting and shocking now and then. I appreciate the hard work of these guys. In Germany we have documentaries on TV of mass production around 100 years ago.
Love the respirators in the spray booth, good god! Are we watching a safety film from 1910.
Техника безопасности просто на высшем уровне, особенно на покраске.
I remember about sixty years ago, we still had what we now consider antique processes as shown in this video. But at least we had PPEs. Nowadays it's almost all digital control equipment doing the work.
лист фанерный вместо сварочной маски: ты отсталый
I bet accident rate in these places is smaller than in so called modern factory with all the PPE. Besides the only reason PPE is mandatory is insurance.
@@SylvesterOziomek "Besides the only reason PPE is mandatory is insurance"
Corrected: The only reason PPE is mandatory is because of insurance.. because accidents without PPE create expensive injuries. PPE saves money and prevents injuries. Insurance companies only care about saving money.
@@bcjb720 How is that corrected? Insurance companies cover their ass so they require PPE and other H&S rules to lower risk of paying insurance so companies comply whether they like it or not. PPE and rest of H&S cost time and money and saves money only when accident happen and all the rules where followed. Big downside of H&S rules is that workers are flooded with so many rules that they no longer have to think. PPE kills awareness. Worker with all the PPE and H&S is more like robot than human. Does nothing but executing instructions.
@@SylvesterOziomek I think maybe you have an axe to grind here? PPE may not be comfy for you to wear but it reduces costly injuries. Otherwise insurance wouldn't require it. They know what things cost to the penny.
The first one is very clean though worker protection is not the best. Wearing the proper gloves is good but dripping wet sandals and cloth pants kind of defeats the purpose. There are modern welding glasses that would work better than a piece of board with dark glass.
They all will get cancer from inhaling the fumes in the chrome process.
Which country
Seems to me that they made a lot of these things in the same location since I saw the same people a few times over. The lack of overall safety of most of it concerns me, but it is still interesting to see the processes for it all!

As a machine builder, I love watching these videos. Machinery is always unique.
I was an industrial electrician. and had to come up with some way to stop a person from getting their hands cut off from a machine that cut off aluminum scrap from castings, but they would get sleepy from doing the same thing over and over, So I came up with an arm that would swing a padded piece when they stepped on the peddle if they didn't remove their hand, it would swing and knock their hand aside before the blades came down. that was 70 years ago. These people here must get a lot of burns and lose a lot of limes and lives. Absolutely no safety equipment.
@@ernestwilliams268 They're doing the best they can with what they have.
