This scene actually shows the respect coach Boone had for Louie, he was civil regardless of the color. He used him as an example and then showed him grace in regards to his grades

    • @bizzy24100
      @bizzy24100 4 года назад +73

why Boone respected Louie was because he was accomplishing what Boone wanted, accept people no matter how different they are, having come from a Navy family, discipline was no problem for Louie considering how he addressed Boone.

      True story time....
I live in a small small town and we had 1 black kid in our highschool. This was in 2005 when I was in highschool, he was just a good, funny guy I was the qb and he was the rb and he was just a good person him being black didn't even go thru my mind but for some reason nobody liked it.
We were on freshman and JV team together. It was the last game of the regular season and our football team was awful 0-9.
We decided to smoke some weed before our last game, we said fuck it. Walking back to our school got stopped by police, and he forgot to leave the weed at home and had it in his pocket.
I saw the baggy right before the sirens went off, I grabbed it without him knowing and put it in mine. Police searched us, the policeman definitely felt the weed in my shorts 100% but basically made my buddy strip naked on a public street. We were both let go, I only knew the guy for 3 years but he was my brother at the time and I knew what would happen if he would of had that caught on him.
Sports brings out the best/worst in people, you definitely understand there character. I considered him my brother even though I only knew him for 3 years.

Gerry was the Titan’s defensive captain and left side linebacker. Julius was the strong (right) side linebacker. Gerry ran the defensive team based on the coaches strategy, and Julius covered the offensive’s left side. When you compare them to Boone and Yoast, they could be the coach, but they’d both be defensive coaches.

A teacher I knew was just like Coach Boone. She was always interested in her students' future plans and always offered to tutor anyone who was willing to give up an hour or two of their free time.
Like the coach, her motto was "If one of MY students really isn't going to college it sure as HELL isn't gonna be because they aren't good enough to go, not on MY watch."
Now THAT was a true teacher, not just the typical schmucks who babysit the kids for a few hours for a lousy paycheck.

My high school 2-a-days ('95-'98) were harder than my college 2-a-days ('99-'02).
A big part of it was my HS O-Line coach and his affinity for the half round bags.
6 bags, maybe 2 yards apart. Run, chop, hop, back and forward, bear crawl. And there's no rest time; when you got to the end you had to haul it back to the starting line because your turn was coming up in a few seconds.

Though not specifically revealed, Lastik has the general personality and cultural focus of an enlisted military dependent child. From this particular video, I'd presume that his father was a Marine, either retired or otherwise separated from the service after more than one term, most likely an NCO.

Its not fiction ya know. Those are the real names of the real people about the real school that the movie was based on. There's a video on YT that did a "50 years later" sorta thing too...

@@RustCole01 I know its based on a true story but when you get down to it most of the stuff shown in these movies did not happen, were taken out of context, events were shifted or dramaticized for the film. Whenever something says based on a true story assume that at least 50% of what you are seeing is fictional.

There are some good and bad coaches, teachers, guidance counselors, etc. Any field can have good or bad people. Yes some are more rare. I've had a teacher who believed in me and is now a friend, and one whose bullying stands out more than any classmate I've had.

It wasn a race thing as much as it was a team thing so my coach locked us in the gym of the rec center for a weekend made us play games together and workout together and it made us stronger. That shit was fun too I miss being a kid
