This scene actually shows the respect coach Boone had for Louie, he was civil regardless of the color. He used him as an example and then showed him grace in regards to his grades
why Boone respected Louie was because he was accomplishing what Boone wanted, accept people no matter how different they are, having come from a Navy family, discipline was no problem for Louie considering how he addressed Boone.
Lewis Lastik having a lot of black friends was actually accurate. He grew up in a predominantly black neighborhood so he grew up having mostly black friends.
True story time.... I live in a small small town and we had 1 black kid in our highschool. This was in 2005 when I was in highschool, he was just a good, funny guy I was the qb and he was the rb and he was just a good person him being black didn't even go thru my mind but for some reason nobody liked it. We were on freshman and JV team together. It was the last game of the regular season and our football team was awful 0-9. We decided to smoke some weed before our last game, we said fuck it. Walking back to our school got stopped by police, and he forgot to leave the weed at home and had it in his pocket. I saw the baggy right before the sirens went off, I grabbed it without him knowing and put it in mine. Police searched us, the policeman definitely felt the weed in my shorts 100% but basically made my buddy strip naked on a public street. We were both let go, I only knew the guy for 3 years but he was my brother at the time and I knew what would happen if he would of had that caught on him. Sports brings out the best/worst in people, you definitely understand there character. I considered him my brother even though I only knew him for 3 years.

0:52 amazing scene. Shows that even when he was being a hardass it was just because he cared about his players and wanted them to succeed. Louie had bought into the program and just needed some encouragement and Coach was there to give it.

Gerry was the Titan’s defensive captain and left side linebacker. Julius was the strong (right) side linebacker. Gerry ran the defensive team based on the coaches strategy, and Julius covered the offensive’s left side. When you compare them to Boone and Yoast, they could be the coach, but they’d both be defensive coaches.

My high school 2-a-days ('95-'98) were harder than my college 2-a-days ('99-'02). A big part of it was my HS O-Line coach and his affinity for the half round bags. 6 bags, maybe 2 yards apart. Run, chop, hop, back and forward, bear crawl. And there's no rest time; when you got to the end you had to haul it back to the starting line because your turn was coming up in a few seconds.
