Just do what's best for your gas tank don't stress yourself out
Facts!!!
@@TeamYokomoDriver i have been tipped by plenty of black people
When I started, I heavily relied on Bentley's advice and teachings. I, for one, appreciate all his content..it has helped me immensely. Thank you.
Before finding these videos, I accepted all offers and didn't understand the strategy of it all. I make more money using his advice. THANK YOU, BENTLEY! LOL! :)
Ever wish you could get paid $1 for every minute you stare at your order sitting behind a counter, and waiting for someone to hand it to you? Or $1 for every minute it takes a McDonald's employee to pack your order and put those three pieces of tape on it?
Fr 😂 🤬
This Comment Takes The Cake 💯
Bro I was just working this morning. I swear ya comment is the real deal. Been dashing two years now. I done seen all the ups and downs. It's nasty out here lol
What about when you tell them you have an order for and you give them the persons name and they say 5 minutes. They get it ready, set it on the counter on the side where you can't see and don't even tell you it's ready. They completely forget. Time goes by when you could of been halfway there.
FACT!!!😂
My home area is in the suburbs, and while one side borders some "city" zones, and there's another suburban zone to one side, the bulk of my zone borders no other zone. There are no restaurants out in the boonies. So, yes, there are lots of orders that if I drive 7 miles I will have to drive seven miles back before I'm back in any zone. But that's okay. I just consider that to be a 14 mile trip, and I want to be compensated for such. (And while there are some people who don't tip, most of the people out in the middle of nowhere know they need to tip.)
But I absolutely agree that the better your AR is, you'll see fewer garbage orders. And I'm not talking about getting up to 50%, or even 70%. I'm saying 85% or better. And I will tell you that if you're starting with an AR of less than 20%, it's going to be painful to get your AR high enough to make a difference, and I expect most Dashers who try to raise their AR will give-up before it makes a difference. But it's 2023, and if you don't make that commitment, it's time to find a new way to make money. What worked in 2020 and 2021 no longer works, and those who don't adapt will lose.
My AR has never dropped below 86%, and I consistently make $23/hour working 10am-5pm in the suburbs. Of course I could make more closer in, and working the dinner shift, and if $23/hour wasn't enough for me, I would. But I would still adjust my selectiveness to keep my AR high because I know it works.
💯🎯‼️
Acceptance rate does not matter half the times, I was at 70 and it seemed like they kept giving me trash orders just so they could get it back down. Now I’m at like 20 😂😂
I worked hard to get it 70 man that was real discouraging.
I would just tell you this. From my experience in a larger market, my AR use to be in the toilet too. I also experienced reaching that 70 mark and DD really trying hard to push me back down. But I reached over 80, and the orders coming in are night and day. I worked about a week straight taking all orders, and even unassigning orders and declining them just to boost AR. My CR is at an 82, just above the 80 requirement. I encourage you to get that AR and experience the better dashing experience. Peace and safe driving
AR is a scam. You definitely work for DD LOL.Ain't nobody falling for that. @@jdankmorris77
@@jdankmorris77but loose money to get it there because of garbage orders. Especially when they try to send you out to BFE where there’s no possibility of picking up an order on the way back.
@TishInTennessee well I work in a larger market and really don't have those issues. A week of taking garbage, and that was about a year ago. Now my AR is 84 and rarely see garbage
You talk like "they" are sitting there sending you specific trash orders. It's AI. It's like the lottery. I'm sure it's programmed to send the better orders to the better dashers... You know... Those of us who don't cherry pick and make a killing.
When my completion rate went from 99 to 94, I saw a difference. My AR hangs between 47-70 & I see no difference. Each market is different!!!
Ehhh I’ve taken plenty of orders outside my zone and got nothing back, nothing even close to the border of my zone. I had to be totally back inside my zone before getting any order at all. But I definitely do not look at base pay versus tip pay - I wouldn’t care if it said “alien on a rooftop” pay as long as the numbers are right and it goes to me. However I’m going to try going outside my zone (again) a few times this weekend and see what happens and report back.
i look forward to hearing how it goes
Great share Bentley!
Words of wisdom!!! You have to know the zone, the community, where to position yourself at what time. You have to know when to hold em and when to play em. I know 3 people that are and have been very sucessful at it. I been doing this 2 weeks and made 1600 some. I could have done better but I was new and have learned a TON. I aim to be successful , i try to aim for 25 an hour atleast. I recommend to stay away from certain neighborhoods at night, even if it pays good.
I will say I rarely get an order heading back to my area after a long delivery, but I am usually able to find a hot spot somewhere much closer than I left from. Thank you for your help in all these videos coach!
If AR is going to matter we should be able to blacklist a restaurant/Merchant/food place every 24 hours on a dont give me orders from here for 24 hours , this should be a toggle on and off check-list that way no more orders come from that restaurant for 24/hours or until you toggle it back to accept (for those who blacklist a place by accident) . Your completion rate and on time - Calculated after your able to pickup the food (that's when the clock should start) should be the metric for good orders and the only Metric . Did I get the delivery to your house on time based on the merchant handing me your order.
A blacklist of sorts is coming
So good to see you and I still value your advice ❤️
even when my AR is high there are still some days where they give me constant trash orders which then brings my AR down below 70%. That happened to me last month and I wasnt able to get it back to 70% on Oct 31st so this month I didnt get top dasher and its making it harder to dash for sure but I WILL get back to top dasher for december. Its true that you cant be successful without being top dasher or an AR at least close to top dasher anymore. In 2021 yes it didnt matter now it does
thanks. i needed a pep talk.
LETS GET IT
I work a lot of hours and Im in Long Beach CA, and do $2,000-$2600 a week, consistently every week Doordash and Uber Eats
I think the biggest thing i've found is you have to work your own strategy, there is some good advice everywhere but you see people doing well a lot of them are doing it different from each other.
I've been a dasher in a small town for 2 years now and the part about not getting orders on the way back to your zone, is on point. There have been days that I've had to sit for an hour to get an order. I also get bad order after bad order. Starting 2 months ago I started delivering in a larger area and it works for me. I definitely haven't seen a big difference in my offers due to my AR. I've been a top dasher and I've been as far down as 25%. Thanks for the info
Some markets are just not that profitable unfortunately. This weekend I was “active” with dd for almost 12 hours and made $160. Less than minimum wage in my state. It at 80% + AR and I take almost every order even if it’s low money. That’s the only way I can at least make something. If I pick and choose it starves me out.
I’m In the same market as you. It’s interesting doing the jumps from each hotspot and today was great for me lol - BAD WEATHER HOLIDAY CHING
I do not think you are reading his comment correctly. 7 miles into know where....meaning into the country....no restaurants...and then 7 miles back to an area with restaurants. You are assuming the 7 miles is into another zone that has restaurants where he can pick up an order on the way back. That is not what he is saying. This is actually the way it is in most of the country outside the suburbs and cities. What he is trying to say is...even being picky with his orders with an AR of 37 (not 17) and base pay of $2.50, he is averaging less than $1 per mile. Meaning that he is getting something like $13 to drive 14 miles round trip to make an average delivery.....140 miles for $130. You can also infer that if the average order is $13, he is only getting 10 order in 11 hours. It sounds like to me that this particular area does not provide enough density and wealth the support door dash.
Thank you for this. It was strange to hear him give advice and not mention that some markets just aren't going to be good for this type of work.
So yes, there are more rural areas where they send you way out like he was talking about 7 miles out and nothing on the way back (our zone is absurdly huge too). There are gaps here where places either just do not have many restaurants or they close earlier than busier areas. That being said though, he needs to take some trash orders for a while to get his AR up because now that mine is up close to 80 or even over 80 at times, I get much better orders!! Id be curious if he has tried that yet, and also what area he is in. Im up in Washington state and the cost of living here is very high almost everywhere but that also means people habe money, and many will tip high.
FWIW for October 2023 in my market.
85.8 hours active
110.24 hours dash time
$7.30 earned per dash
252 dashes
1633 miles driven
Earned for active time $21.43 hour.
80% acceptance rate
2 restaurants black listed, one for parking and both are notoriously slow.
Won't shop so no dollar general some drug stores and the very rare Aldeis order. No alcohol ever.
I could dash longer but the active time to dash time ratio would decrease and the amounts per hour would increase.
Won't dash in bad weather or after dark.
For now, I get by.
I always use dash time to figure my hourly wage, not active time...I'm still working if I am sitting in my car waiting. No other job will only pay you when you have a customer to wait on. Your real hourly earning can only be figured out using hours dashed
@drobinson99 I read walk 100 step laps around my car. FWIW I gross about $16.5 an hour if I use Dash Time. I can stomach the other more easily.
❤ well said 👏
Long time viewer here and have to chime in here. When I delivered in South Florida the zones were all connected. I've moved and in rural NY and I'm sure many other places around the country there are zones that are islands not touching any other zones and yes DoorDash will send you 5 miles into the wilderness where there is no option but to drive 5 miles back to the zone as there are no restaurants etc. in the sticks.
My business partner and I started dashing 6 months ago and your videos have helped a lot
HAPPY BIRTHDAY …. What do think about blocks?
Bentley, you're absolutely right about AR. Fact
Hey man, I discovered you in my feed from following Dashing trader. Like you I'm in Charlotte and dash part-time as I have 2 w-2 jobs. Ive only been dashing since June and I Know for a fact the AR is king in this market. when it gets below 70, I would get trash orders, and have eat crap orders to get back in the good graces of doordash lol. I only work sat and sun dinner time and maybe two lunch rushes doing the week but my AR is at 80 so it doesn't hurt me to not take trash orders. You are spitting facts I wish I would've found this channel when I first started.
People drive super crazy now. Be sure you get the rideshare option on your insurance. Invest in good bags to keep food temperate. You are self-employed, take control. Stay protected on the road.
0:55 October is my birthday month too ❤ ♎️
Happy Birthday Bentley 🎉
I’d like to see you out dash dashing trader I don’t think you could do it keeping your AR above 70% the whole time
More pay more miles! Traveling dead zone is the way it goes in my area
We gotta get you a Doordash Backgroudn for yo wall Lol! aye right on bro !
If you're in a market that consistently dishes out bad offers no matter what your metrics are, then earn-by-time is your best bet.
Not all markets offer earn by time.
@@tammytrew7256 That is unfortunate
Great video fam you speaking pure facts this whole video I’ve made all these mistakes recently and realized what it is and adjusted my strategy. Went from 19% ar to 69% in like 2-3?days which is insane I’ve never averaged over 25% before in 3 years
It's not worth door dashing in a small town
Facts! What you said at the end of the video is true. Its too much money to be made to worry about an app 😂😂. Thats why I love catering app over dd & ue. I make a few catering runs & I enjoy the rest of my day 🚀
This man speaks the truth, you don’t have to worry about DD AR when it’s not your only bread and butter 💪🏿👏🏿
This was some really good content
Thanks
@@DoordashDiaries You're welcome family! 👍🏾
Based on the comments and Reddit etc want to voice my displeasure with DD giving out free AR resets to bad drivers. I’m always in 90s and make a lot of money past 4 years and I EAT IT with $3.25 orders etc 10 miles to maintain my superiority over weak, bad garbage drivers with bad numbers and DD just resets to 100%??? It’s like the boss giving the worst employee a raise IN FRONT OF YOU
Some of the problems may depend on your town/city. I get offer’s every day that try to send me 10-18 miles out in the country. It’s a long deadhead back and there are No restaurants on the way. Smaller towns can mean unproductive miles. And I still get orders that say run with expected tip =2.00 or 2.50. And some are 5-7 miles away. My AR is 65% my CR is 5.0. I can’t drive 34 miles round trip for $10-12. Thankfully UE pays better most of the time but they have less work. So it’s a dance for me. Even if it makes me crazy, it’s a blast to do. There has to be a happy medium between making a little and paying DD to deliver some of these orders. They have offered some that the fuel cost more than the offer. I would think some of the bigger towns could be way more profitable. I just feel blessed to have what I have.
Hey Bentley. I live in Los Angeles. I've been dashing for 3 years. I was making $1,200 per week when I started now some days I don't make $50 in a whole day shift. I have a new bartender job and make way more than I ever did dashing. However I dashed yesterday (Sunday) and made $22 the whole day. I don't wanna dash anymore. I think it's useless in my market. We get tons of orders for $3.00 and such. I can't justify taking orders like this. Makes no sense to me. I wanna say thanks to you though. You were the first dash RUclipsr that I watched when I started. Alot of your comments helped me out. God bless and I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday season. I'm out bro....
I’m not sure how else to explain it other than God has my back because I have a 5-10% on both Uber and DoorDash and consistently make $125-$150 a night from when I get off of work and start at 3:30pm and go to 8:30pm. The AR shouldn’t even be allowing me to make that much but it just does. My zone is quite busy and has really expensive homes so maybe that’s it lol
Bentley I like your info and style. You have to adapt and know your market and stay challenged to win more days than not.
I never listen to the videos. I just go straight to the comment section and it will tell me EVERYTHING about the video and only took me about 2 min :). Time is money.
Bewly subscribed. And been going through your videos. And i will say, on this one. That that brother's comment is more true than your defense 😂😂😂
Lol I'm trying to get it up there
🫶🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾 LETS GO MY BOY!!
Still in the game lol 😆 nice bro
Happy birthday…
Th k you
I have about 50 to 70% of the time found that u get another back into my zone. You have to research and try and change your strategies till you nail down how your market will best make you money.
They need to pay more for base pay instead of just relying on tips. The miles is definitely not worth it.
You should be named doordasher coach Bentley lol
Yeah, if the tip is good, the base pay is low. Vice versa if the tip is low the base pace a little higher
That's the dookie shit they do
The other day I had a $7.75 base pay. No tip. Win for me!
You know, sometimes you have to really just ask yourself, is where i live beneficial to doordashing and ubering. Because if you are consistently traveling 7 miles to the sticks to deliver, you need to move to the city or find another job/gig.
A service like this just doesn’t work in the country. It’s common sense, I don’t understand why people would even try it.
Fellow October gang
What you said about the ar is not true for all markets. I was at 77% and I got a bunch of trash offers...more miles than money..now I'm at 39% because the offers were just bad all the way until under 50%.
It's not a stretch if you live in a small town.
Hi where you been? Miss you.
hello. thanks. October is always a chill month for me. But we are back
@@DoordashDiaries ok October is my birthday months too. I must say you got me Hustlin on this doordash game thanks for all your tips and tricks
I just started two days ago and ive made 70 dollars with only about 3 and a half hours of drive time, the biggest issue ive had is finding people addresses
How u doing now? Update?
@@joshbowman8546 pretty much make 50 a day for the three four hours I do, but I still haven't even dashed a full week yet
Bently, i know what that dasher is talking about, same BS in my area lol you should come to our areas and see whats up, come to kansas and see lol.
Same here, base pay per order is 2.50$ and sometimes, no tips, some of those orders do go out of the city, 5 miles or more and then not always an order coming back in to the city nearest zone. Ive had to take some of those orders, i feel his pain yet i still keep my AR currently at 75% so im getting good orders too, but there are Aholes that purposely don't wanna tip even when they get great service. I take my job seriously here but i do see customers being pains and even rude to me, just because they can. Its sad.
Now granted, some people shouldn't be dashing but me, i work for mine, but it still feels like punishment at times, would be nice if doordash raises their base pay, hasn't moved in 2 or more years yet inflation, keeps going up. Almost not worth it anymore 😢
@doordashdiaries genuine question, have you dashed in rural/ish areas? I’m in an are of
Made top dasher this month so my stats are there, too, figured that was relevant
It's weird that he didn't mention that your market is the biggest factor that determines what you can make. If your market is bad there's no strategy that will make it better.
Yeah I don’t think he mentions it enough. He’s in Charlotte North Carolina which is a major city. My town had about 100,000 residents and a large state university. I largely make bad money when I drive.
STOP referring drivers! The referral program is a scam and only benefits DD. The majority of drivers you refer aren't going to take it super serious and hit the recommended goal of deliveries for you to get your referral bonus anyway. DD knows this and they will win at the end cause they get a FREE DRIVER without having to pay you a referral bonus.
Happy belate birthday
thank you fam
I was wondering where you went. Yeah those idiots think AR doesn't matter. Yeah right. Just let them take the trash while I wait on worthwhile orders. Denial is a powerful thing and usually it's not a good thing. Thanks for the well thought out video🤜🤛
Issued to find you helpful but you're just a corporate apologist now.
If I get paid by the hour I'll sit at the store 30. Min then it will take me 30 min to deliver guaranteed 20$ plus a tip so.. share share
If I was your customer I would remove the tip. You'll never make it if you treat your customers like that.
Hey Mr. Bentley! I love your advice and I’m pretty much where I should be to be a “Top Dasher,” but for the past few weeks I have not been receiving any priority Dash Now opportunities. Why??!!! These are my ratings!!!!

I really like this channel, but I can't get with the acceptance rate advice. I have never seen a substantial change in order quality based on acceptance rate. Mine is at 15%. The rest of my ratings are about that same as yours, and I recently received a $25 order for 10 miles. With tip, it was $71. I typically make a MINIMUM $15/hr with ONLY DD, and that's a BAD day for me. I know other TOP dashes, and they say the same as you. Now, I'm not saying to screw up that 83% or to not do better. I'm just saying that I haven't seen a substantial change in offers. The only difference I can tell is that you get more catering gigs with a higher AR. Otherwise.....🤷♂️
Hey Bentley! Here’s something no one tells you - DD Support is a joke! So far today, when checking my AR for the end of October, I’ve gotten three different answers from three separate support agents - 54, 68, and 69. But hey, as long as corporate DD can cash in off the backs of Dashers, who gives a…? DD is unaccountable.
Nice job Bently. Whem I get my AR above 70 I seem to get a lot more orders. It can drop very quickly though since a lot of them are the No go type. When I hit 69 I can drop it to 45 in 2 days. The key is to take some orders that you wouldn't want so that you get some that you do. I have deliver a $30 order three days in a row during lunch shift. I took some iffy orders and got myself near a restaurant that they would order from and got that big one. taking orders out of the zone can be thanked by doordash by giving you a good one. I have seen them thank you by giving you a second order with less pay to the same neighborhood. Thanks but no thanks DD.
Dd keeps sending the same $4 order for 3 miles, over and over.
Take it! See what happens...
Gotttt Dannnng 130 in 11 hours, thats an L! I make that in 4 hours in my area! Daily be pullling minimum 200 to 250 in 6-8 hours, normal day of work!
💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿
I always ask people if they owned DoorDash would they send good orders to those wirh higher ratings taking more orders or those wirh lower ratings taking less orders. You can't fix stupid😮
С Днём рождения! Сегодня мой третий день на ДД.
Красава
Acceptance rate does not matter. End stop.
Oh cool here’s a guy that doesn’t make $45 an hour active every week forever with a 97% AR lol
Your wrong Bently - They will send you outside your market example Mesa to Gilbert. 90% of the time I will not get an order until I go back to Mesa Market. Happy Belated Birthday
You look like you could be related to me. seriously you look like my dad and I.
Lol why you take out my man Dashing Trader 😂😂 but I just gotta acceptance reset and in 2 days made $300 in less then 8 hours..acceptance rate matters!
Nothing but love for my boy!!
He's a dd shill, right?
Hi Bentley
I have to agree with something you said about 4 years ago
DoorDash original pay model was more beneficial to dashers
Been a dasher for 6 1/2 years now
Pay is worse Acceptance rate really didn’t matter much then
Just looking back on hindsight all these drastic changes may not Beneficial to the Dasher, success
Good content
If you’re doing DD or any other food delivery app, you are not putting yourself in a position for success. These apps are designed to give you minimum pay so you guys need to stop trying to make careers out of this nonsense. Just go get you a normal 9-5 job and done with it.
I know a guy pulling 2k a week off doordash 😂 & he lives in Virginia. You just have to learn your area and put the work in. If you enjoy the 9-5 shit that’s personal preference but we all know those aren’t livable wages in this economy. DD is a good hustle to stack up investment funds for your own goals/dreams
I made about $1100 my first week. I do it part time.
Dude you have no clue how these smaller markets work. Yes you can have orders that take you out in the country that are $2.5 total total and no you don’t have to come back to the city but where are you going to pick up orders in the middle of a field. Come on man you have always been on point but not on this.
You selfishly over looked the part where I said some but not all. Take chill pill buddy
Lol
