- What does it take for a COyote 5.0 to beat a 2016 6th gen Camaro SS that only has an intake (stock tune)? Apparently every bolt-on you can throw at it! Longtube headers, X pipe, GT500 axlebacks, Ported BOSS intake manifold, JLT intake, 3.73 gears, and tuned on E85. Both cars on street tires.

It takes bolt ons and upgrades to beat a stock 16' SS.. Thats how you know Chevy is winning..
Except the Camaro costs $6000 more than the 5.0 new. I looked at both and couldn't justify the $6000 premium vs same options mustang.

bolt on for bolt on the 16ss will walk any coyote. that's just facts for real. the GT runs like an animal though with full bolt ons and tune and that ain't no joke either. i won't take away from the GT but honestly they can't run with these 6th Gens unless they have more mods.

Josh what kind of shit are you on doge? I need some of that good good. Sixth gen SS aren't hanging with Shelby's. I've yet to see a m6 SS break into the 11s in the quarter. Your pushrods turds don't have any top end either so it'll get even worse prob 2 to 3 car lengths by the 1/2 mile and even worse into a full mile. Seeing nothing but taillight's during the pass.

Also to be fair that isn't every bolt on you can throw on the 5.0 as stated in the description. Obviously not Heads cam cause that is internal engine. However, underdrive pulleys, injectors, fuel system, suspension, lighter components, large throttle body, clutch , shifter etc. and the list goes on. The term fbo is getting thrown around too loosely. That's every bolt on you can do period. The sixth gen Camaro is definitely quick though for sure.
I just beat a full exhaust, cai and e85 tune 6th gen in my coyote with cj intake, full exhaust and comp stg 3 cams last night im also full weight and so was he. Got him by 2+ cars each time

There must be a huge discrepancy in 6th gens my roommate has a 6speed ss stock and I have a 16 gt 6speed with Pmas intake and tune and beat him every time especially 100+ new camaros are nasty but it’s not magic

Ehhh that Camaro still on the stock tune??? I've raced a couple stock a8 16ss's and I was pulling around 100 with my manual tune and cat delete coyote. The new SS's are beasts though I can't lie Chevy shook the game up when they released those.

Chevy fanboys get one Generation of camaros out of all the years of constantly being behind ford, they get a Camaro that can actually beat a 5.0 stock for stock and they go ape shit. like bruh the 2015 GT came out before the SS, Chevy had to up their game and had time to do it. @Trevon Adams right lol. That's why the 2018 is out there spanking 6th gens. Hell even my 2012 GT pulled an Auto 6th gen SS just the other week. We did 3 races and I pulled him by a half car length each time.
@Trevon Adams it says fastest Camaro 6th gen STOCK with the A8 in the 1/4 is 11.905@117. Compared to the fastest stock 2018 Mustang GT 10R80 which ran an 11.83@119. Seems like the Mustang is faster 🤔🤔🤔 and I've literally driven a 2017 Camaro SS with the A8, they really aren't that all impressive, cockpit space is very small and feels claustrophobic. No room for a backseat passenger either, and poor visibility. Got into it and didnt feel the torque every curvy fan boy loves to talk about. And being that my 2012 GT pulled a 6th gen A8, I'm not impressed at all by Camaros lol. They are junk.
@Trevon Adams I dont need to check forums when the majority of videos on youtube of 2018+ Mustangs are racing 6th gen camaros and whooping them. Not to mention my own personal experience beating one and having driven one.
@Trevon Adams just CAI, exhuast and tune, that's it. Not really FBOs. Not to mention have way more space in my car and visibility. The Camaro might have more features and tech but not worried about how fancy the tech is. I also only paid 18 for my car, A CJ intake, TB, LTs, and e85 tune w/stickies would have my car in the 10s, and I would still have payed less than a stock 6th gen. Dont needs heads or cams. Neither does the 2018, they run low tens with just bolt ons and a e85 tune w/stickies.
I had no problem with stock 6th gens in my Coyote swapped 01 cobra with a bone stock truck motor with exhaust intake and tune. Tr3650 with 3.27 gears
What does it take for a 2011 5.0 auto to beat a 2016 Camaro SS?? Only a axle back exhaust, aem drop in filter and LMS tune from my personal experience.
4,000+ DA that night and neither Camaro could break outta the 13's while my AUTO 2011 ran 12.8@112mph.

I got catted headers and a tune and I was dead even with a 2017 ss which isn’t bad considering they’re rated at 455 and mines rated at 420 not to mention mine is 5 years old

@Trevon Adams yes the boss isnt that great the cobra jet is better a ported 18 is probably as good maybe better gt350 is better. Boss does ok ported but it's not the best intake by far. Oh and sometimes people have issues tuning auto cars with high revving manifolds not saying that's the case here but it does happen. 373z aren't good with the auto trans they need stock 3.15 to perform best ecapecually from a roll. 373 is good with the manual.

adam hebbert....Your tune only Mustang has to be running low high 11s or faster to walk a 2016 Camaro with full boltons. I beat a 2011 5.0 with gears intake and exhaust in my bolton l99 Camaro all the time. You will beat a 2013 Camaro thats stock but your not walking the 2016.

That Mustang is a poor example, I've raced and put car lengths on two '16 SS's in my 2011 5.0 auto with only axleback, aem drop in filter and a LMS tune. Those SS's can't even break into the 12's at our track...that's pretty pathetic if you ask me.

i cant wait to run a cam and bolt-on 6th vs my coyote. i have ported heads,cams ported cj intake , full exhaust. i ran a stock auto 6th gen and completely smashed him. then found out the next day my car was only running on 4 cylinders lol the 6th gen is quick but i think sligltly over rated.
