Combination of motor tech enhancing, parts combined, a different tune altogether and that new 8 speed Transmission. Those elements are totally different then the 5th Gens platform which makes a better overall performing car. FOR THE $ they want, it better outrun and handle better then my 5th gen Shieddd!!!! But on another note, I love my 5th Gen. Wrecked the 2010 last year at 36k miles in April. Got another 5th Gen over the new one in February. I'm just not sold on the new ones. Hell Bumble Bee did something to me in the first Transformers and I bet years down the line the 5th gens will hold value better then the 6th. 2012 15k miles. Drive on the weekends. Love em to 💀!!!! I love both cars. But I have to say, the 5th gen feels like a true bare bones old school sports car when you hop in and throw the hammer down. Where the 6th gen feels like a modern BMW on steroids and slammed on coil overs that make it ride like a skateboard with no suspension. lol But that right there is why I choose Camaro over Mustang, if I want a smushy ride, I'll take the truck.
@@Tone2ss 3.91 don't do what you think in the 1le,the 1le has dif gears in the transmission so it makes it similar to the reg ss the difference is 3rd and 4th are a little longer .it's not the same as if you put the 3.91 in a regular ss .
Some Dude I guess you haven't seen the dyno comparing the LS7, LS3, LT1? The LT1 and LS7 are pretty close up until 4500 rpm, that's when the LS7 takes off. The LS3 made 384/360, LT1 made 415/415, LS7 made 452/420. If you look at the dyno sheet you will see that the LT1 dominates the LS3 across the whole curve. Not even close.

16 SS makes 390-420 HP and a bit more torque to the wheels stock.. the modded 5th Gen makes 450 but is 300-350 lbs heavier, is an M6 (not sure how good the driver is) so Im not surprised. 5th Gen ZL1 is a hair faster than the 6th Gen SS running low 12's stock. The 6th Gen will need ZL1 power to beat or keep up with the 6th Gen.
I’m not sure what’s wrong with that camaro but I have a 2010 ss (L99, long tunes, cai, sct tune) and I’m door to door with my girls dads 2016 stock ss (auto) that must be a baby cam or something because there’s no way it’s this close with a cam
I pulled an 8 speed 6th gen and 10 spd 5.0 with my 228 cam and headers ls2 gto. And i thought 5th gens wieghed about the same as gtos so this definitely doesn't make sense less ls2s are just more effectient regardless of peak power

All the power/weight ratio people give me cancer... Weight is not the reason. It's gearing notice how every time he's on top of the Rpm he pulls but when shifting into 4th gear which is long it stops? Yes it's gearing.. it falls out of the power band
Definitely the weight... That's why it pulls on top rather then on the 1st few gears where acceleration is more relevant due to weight. People will never understand that weight matters accelerating at lower speeds at higher speeds its gearing and aerodynamics to overpower wind resistance.
+Daniel Carrión weight plays a role the entire time. yes aerodynamics comes into play at higher speeds but it's all relative. Every aspect has correlation that impacts one another. power/weight/gearing, is a factor no matter what speed, what scenario you can come up with. they go hand in hand whenever acceleration is involved. period

Have to call BS here LSX magazine did a camparison of both cars and said the new one stock for stock only pulled about 1/2 a car. There is just no wayba cammed tuned 5th gen doesnt gap a stock 6th gen. Its just simple engineering. that 8 speed auto is so quick and you can time it just right on paddle shifters im a manual guy but personally i dont think i could shift that quick with equal seat time vs. manual and paddle play.
lighter.. aggressive gearing not to mention the LT1 is a better motor. The torque it makes is a lot more than LS motors and it comes on sooner. look at a stock graph of a LT1 dyno, check out 2000rpm and on for the torque.

either this 6th gen is not stock or the 5th gen is a POS because there is a video of a 2016 5.0 with only a E85 tune and its side by side against a 2016 SS.

That's one slow modded 5.0. In my neck of the woods a modded 5.0 would beat a stock gen 6 Camaro.

NikoLeondis sounds about right, big cam LS3s hit 500whp most of the time
since you have a 1le you also have 3.91 gears vs the normal ss 3.45 gears you go through the gear faster.
