Phonetically, I believe it should be "PHL" instead of "PLH." Here is my reason. P = pos in Hmong, but soft P as in "spy" in English PH = phos, as in "pay" hart p in English PHL = phlos as the English word "play" In other words, the Hmong words: Phes = pay of English Phles = play in English. Notice that the PH sound is uttered before the "L" and not "PL" then "H" or at least Hmong people don't pronounce these words like these: Plhau as in "pl+ h aub" but as this "Ph+laub" If you utter these two words slowly and phonetically you will hear what I meant. Nyob os tijlauj Jay! Thank you for making note of this Hmong consonant PLH. I noticed that you presented it as P+H+L on your channel. But my teacher taught me the standard spelling, which is PLH. PLH is the Hmong consonant that was devised by the Txiv Plig Yves Bertrais and was nationalized in 1954.
