    A BUSY MONTH! - read on!...
    Dean Park Railway modelling sees significant progress this month. The second Linoleum factory is finally completed. I share my newly completed MK3 in stunning RTC livery. I've come across a new brand of 3D Printed figures and also been fitting some details to my rolling stock. AND there's LOADS of new running shots from locomotives on the layout. Check out the links below for some great products, as used at Dean Park Model Railway. If you enjoy Rail transport modelling you'll like this!

    Another cracking update Dave. I love the acknowledgment that not all citizens of model railway lands are all able bodies; and the addition of an individual in a wheelchair, as you rightly highlighted, really embraced an inclusive reality. Loved the grimy & well weathered 08 on shunting duties.

    Your wee class 08 Shunter is by far the best model you own! Brilliant update, Dave. Your work on the latest scratch build buildings is so impressive. Your attention to detail is incredible. I've said it before and I'll say it again; I barely watch TV anymore, and follow RUclipsrs with millions of viewers, but your content is easily right up there with the content I most look forward to.

    Test Car 10 looks good, and don't worry about the raised edges around the windows. In all honesty, no one will notice. You've done a cracking job on it, so don't worry about something outwith your control.

    Hi Dave, hope you had a good festive break. I’m loving the Test Car 10 conversion and you’ve inspired me to have a go! I’ve looked through the comments but can’t find the answer to ‘which type of corrugated sheet did you use for the windows? Also, any chance of supplying a top down shot of the roof vent? Will have to try making that out of plasticard!!
    Keep up the amazing work.
    Cheers, Rich.

  • @cedarcam

    If you had not said about the windows on the test car I would never of known so why risk ruining a model, it was a good choice to leave them be. Me thinks you have been watching another layouts update fitting the tail lamp They look good and I am going to get a pack. It seems the wipers are OK for a single freight wagon but for bogie stock their springs are better although more work to fit them. 3D printing is producing some excellent details now. The figures look good for some reason the link is not working to those but I was able to find them.

  • @daviemaclean61
    @daviemaclean61 3 года назад +1

    Nice job on the test car Dave. Unless you were very familiar with the real thing, I don't think your average punter would notice the window frames, and you could easily ruin a perfectly good coach filing them off. 3d printed figures are definitely a step forward. When you think of some of the stuff that used to pass for scale figures in the past!

    • @DeanPark
      @DeanPark  3 года назад

      Cheers. Yeah the figures we get now are just brilliant. But yet hornby still sell their crappy ones from the 1980’s 😆

    • @daviemaclean61
      @daviemaclean61 3 года назад

      @@DeanPark The only thing I would say in their, and other "overseas" figures, defence is they're good background figures where you wouldn't want to waste a highly detailed one. The 3d sprues, or runners, or whatever they're called, should be good for holding them while painting. Great update all round. Cheers

    • @goldenknight578
      @goldenknight578 3 года назад

    I kniow I'm beng finicky and I apologise for that, but one of your people seems to be using a mobile phone on an eighties layout! I know you youngsters can't imagine a time before mobiles, internet, personal computers, but believe me that was life in the eighties! If you were out, the only phone option was a red public telephone kiosk! We forget how much life has changed in the last 30 years or so.

      Ok. Point taken. I got some different people from all eras. I sometimes do modern day running sessions with LNER stock. So when I do I swap in some of the more modern characters, such as those with mobile phones, camcorders etc. I was only showing the range of people I had.

      You can alter the speed steps. Make sure it’s set to 128. You can do this via your controller/programming the decoder. That helps a smoother movement. Also, I set cv3 (acceleration) to a higher number, in my case 75. That allows it to pull away more realistically.
