Hi as an Aussie I’d suggest to put your maxtrax/sand ladders on the sides of the canopy ( where it bends inwards also you could put a little led strip inside the canopy on the side you open the door
It’s looking so good and you are going the complete opposite way of technology because a lot of hobbyist are going the 3D route you making it out of metal which I prefer because of weight and longevity keep up the great work🤙🏼
This rig is so cool, i have a rig with a similar bed set up out of aluminum. I took mine to a weld shop to get tak'd together, i would suggest adding a welding set up to the scale accessory's like alot of overlanding trucks have.
Absolutely love the work you do enjoy all your videos even the fixing and maintaince videos I've been subscribed to many you tube channels but this is the first one I have joined keep up the amazing work
Thank you very much for watching and joining!! You are now the lucky number 7! I'm glad you like the maintenance videos because it's a reality of the hobby, and I don't see many out there. They don't do well view wise, but I will keep doing them so it can help someone.
I love that truck, even if it is a Toyota. You are a master of the metal and your creative side are free. Keep it that way, once a again thanks for keeping us here to follow your builds.
Thank you very much Willie!! We always wait for your comments! Your positivity helps more than you know!!... And I can put another brand badge on it just for you if it makes you like it more haha. You tell me the brand, and I'll get it on it!
@@WafflesRC-pb4nt Thank You my Friend, I appeciate your kind words. You give us content that is not available on this tube. That aside, I want to ask if on your side if possible a body of a Ford Model A or something from the early 1900 as a Crawler build and if I can ask you to try and build that, if not it won't be a train wreck, not at all, I just love old Model T or Model A cars. ( You could ask for any colour but they were only available in black!!!!) Don't change the Brand, I have 3 X Toyota FJ 's Desert Foxes, Bronco, and two Jeeps as RC cars, so I drive a Subaru Impreza and my Truck is a Ford Ranger.( The Ranger is also 6 Speed like the STI and thats why i got one, even the gear lever looks the same and reverse is on the same place) Kindly be blessed and continue to wow us with your outstanding builds you have a solid supporter this side and kind words aside your are a master of your craft.
You need to go ahead and put a door on the other side and put a bobcat welder or a welder in there with welding leads and an air tank or an air compressor. I think that would be kick ass.
Back before the internet and magazines were a thing, ammo cans were suggested to hold all kinds of things for camping or work rigs. They are cheap, durable, and mostly water proof depending on the age of the seal. Seen people keep wrenches to welding rods in them. I know you said the other fuel cans were for something else, a couple coats of blue paint and they would be water jugs. Truck is coming together nicely.
Roof rack would look cool with a light bar and that front bumper with the bars attaching to the nerf bars is awesome 💯. You could always use magnets as a latch system.
Very cool build! I too do as I like because that’s how I want things. I try not to just blend in when possible. Same with the weight. As long as it’s balanced and performs as I want it to.
A way to hold the hinge is to peen the outside of it like the barrel that will pinch the rod inside. Also take a volt meter see what the solar panels put out in the sun light DC v. If it’s a decent voltage you could solder some capacitors inside the bed and have a dome light for your accessories. Way nice job so awesome congratulations on your shout outs.
you can get solar lipo/lion charging module dirt cheap and make these panels functional to power lights inside the canopy or whatever. Another tip - since this is all metal, I would stick magnetic tape on the bottom of your accessories to prevent the rattle :)
I feel personally attacked for having a heavy 79 😂 love the builds mate but I’d be lying if I didn’t say the Aus build is my favourite 😉 You’ve got the canopy spot on and front bar and sliders are spicy as. Chuck a swag in the canopy to fill the void ( I used some rolled up canvas and hemp twine to make a scale one). Grab some of those Ali express halo lights for the rears, our Utes usually have 3 to a side but 2 would look just as good. I think they make them as small as 5mm 🤔
This made me laugh so much!! I do have a plan for a camping situation that I think you might like. I'm going for the American/Australian mix on that part as well.
Put the traction bars on the door that opens and closes. You’re gonna rip them off if you roll it over. Maybe do netting or something like that on the other side
i reckon a second/double brush bar coming off that bumper corner, running up along side the existing bars, following it down the side steps and back under. Would finish it off, look beefier, and most importantly, heavier in the front.. Some cattle ranch utes have them.. Just a thought. :) Love the content. A proud australian here... Cheers from Down Under
Those solar panels can chrge a small battery with a cheap board, which in turn could light up the inside of the canopy when you open it

You could wire the solar panels to your Lights.. probably puts out enough power to get LEDs powered on
@@MrBigruss1988 He could also charge another battery whilst driving 🤷♂️
@@3.LC45s that would be tricky and take up space inside that box

Best '79 RC i've seen looks super cool 🇬🇸 kiwi 😂
Thank you very much!!!
So nice you are killing it. I dig the front bumper
Thank you very much!!
That is one awesome rig waffle you inspire me to get a welder n learn how to weld just so I can do stuff like this
Awesome awesomeness
Just a great job ❤! Love your style 🤘🏻💯🤩😎

Face shelf with shovel an axe and a jack! So you can jack those kangaroos bro! Lmao!😂

I actually use old ammo cans as storage and transport for all my batteries. I put some hole in it so it could be a bit safer.
You're killing it dude that thing looks amazing can't wait for paint. Keep up the good work thanks for sharing.
Thank you very much!! I'm still thinking on how to make it look good without doing just all black.
@@WafflesRC-pb4nt maybe the green color that's in the camo?
That's what I was thinking as well. Just as an accent color. I've seen that done and I do like it.

She is sick. 🤟😝🤘
Thanks Waffles RC 🫡 Another great vid.
Isn't it great living outside the box! Very nice build so far. Looking forward to the semi-finished product. Knowing that they are never really done!
There is so much truth in this comment!!!!
Wicked scale rig, looking forward to the trailer build 😎
Beautiful machine❤️🔥😉👌

Sic build bro live the entire rig alot lots😅
Thank you very much!!
Could put a battery charger on the solar panels and charge a battery while having fun. Just a cool idea 😊
I’m from Australia and yes 79 aren’t light they are heavy but love them and love your builds
How bout lights on inside tray box and use the panels to work them
Hey brothers I don't care what the haters say that truck looks bitching you need to put a winch on the bumper just to complete the look
Thank you very much!! I just came up with an idea today to get one on it. Hopefully it will work haha
SICKKKKKKKKKK
Put the traction bars on the door that opens and closes. You’re gonna rip them off if you roll it over. Maybe do netting or something like that on the other side
Put the traction bars on the big side dors. It will look cool
Add a small power bank for charging cell phones off your small solar panels. I'm sure you could find one to fit.
Really cool! You might want to though some tow chains on your rig just in case you find something to drag home !
Put a bed on the other side of the tray to go with the overlander build and to go with the solar panels
You should be able to charge a small battery with those panels.like a 1s cell. Power the side door with a winch motor and switch
Looks great

I really need to step up my game. Now that there are two of you. Lol! 🎉

To cool roll up some packs and canvas for your sade you will have it
It looks awesome 👌 r u going to put a winch on it thanks for sharing 👍
I sure am. I just devised a plan for it today so hopefully it will work
The scrub bars would hit the doors when you open them
Well since it is Australian truck owned by and American, we will just go through the window like the Duke's
Mabey u could for the shelf put a shelf and then put a like a tent/ collapsable tent
[note if u do this can i get a shoutout]
