Beautiful, living the dream. Unfortunate for the locals but you have struck gold visiting paradise without all the tourists. Certainly an experience never to forget. Safe travels.
What a great find and cheap as chips as well as %20 off food in the restaurant. A great place to spend a month just chilling and enjoying nature. Thank you for posting M
It certainly does look idyllic BUT just a word of caution if I may: ALWAYS come and stay in a desired area for a time FIRSTLY (say min 3 months, preferably 6) BEFORE committing/upping sticks or selling up. At the minimum to see if the 'ideal' actually suits one's lifestyle & expectations. Cheers!
@@SideTripLife Appreciate words of wisdom. :-) I'm likely moving from US to be with my girlfriend in Singapore in about 18 months, but would definitely consider something like this in the long term.
It still looks amazing! Visited Phangan more than 30 years ago .... there was nothing on that island then. Now it looks just like Kho Samui in the days of ´Lonely Planet´. Can´t blame anyone, though! "Times they are a changin".
Yes this is great, my favorite spot on phangan, i just saw the bungalow where I stayed last year. I hope the weather stays good for you, to see the beautiful sunset. Thanks very much for the movie, i wish you make every day movies😄😄. I can recommend you than sadet beach for a day toer, beautiful road to go there and a waterfall. Have a wonderful time. 🙏🙏
I miss Srithanu sooo much. Oh my goodness. And Zen beach baby! Karma cafe, Ashoka, Organic Love, ecstatic dance at the pyramid on Sunday mornings, yessssss!!! Take me back!!! I wish teleportation was a thing. I will be back. The nostalgia is real. Thank you for sharing this 💗
My number One favorite island that most people do not go to when visiting Thailand. We stayed in the back of the island all the way opposite of the pier. Absolutely beautiful. Had the most fun of our lives there.
I lived on phangan on and off years - although its always quiet like this in the off season , its strange to see it like this in later December. The road to haadrin was all dirt when i first went and the beach was just bungalows with a tiny crossroads behind with a few small shops. i have a feeling they have plans to change haadrin completely when tourism comes back and possibly the whole of phangan will move towards higher end tourism. its such a beautiful and special place but has become far too busy recently and the kind of people visiting has changed a lot of course , i dont think the thais have enjoyed the last 10 years of change very much but the money was good so most of the families i know have done well but yearn for the quieter days and low season each year
Great tour, earned my subscription. I've always loved Koh Phangan, but haven't spent much time in that part of the island... you just gave me a new destination there. Thank you!
I recently found you and greatly appreciate your style of travel. I love staying in places that are similar to what you have been finding. Great tours. I appreciate your efforts to inform.
6 years ago we visited about 5 different places in Thailand. This island by far was my favorite. We stayed in the back in a small village. At 10 at night we would get banana wraps with chocolate. In the morning ride scooters all day and go shopping or head to the beach. I could spend my life their easily.
@@SideTripLife Everyone goes to PhiPhi . It is a nice place to just visit. We were up on the hill so we had to lock the windows because the monkeys would come in and steal your stuff. Koh Samui is real nice. We went to a Thai Boxing match there. It's a must if you go. Thailand is a beautiful place. Yes there is some poverty but most people have some work. Now they legalized Cannabis. They will open the doors to more cash for Thai people. They really suffered during covid. But KPG has my heart. The island has something for everyone. Every side of it has a different flavor. It's probably the least visited in Thailand and that's why I love it. Our memories will last us a lifetime.
Thanks, I'm loving these trips down memory lane. Not sure if you went there but Mae Haad beach is one of my favourite in the world. The reef is stunning and only a few meters out. The new resort there looks spectacular but I did love the charm of the old huts.
I am a new subscriber , i did 4 visits to Bangkok but never got a chance to stay beyond, your video made to realize wat I missed . Thank you and be safe
I really like your videos. I am from Calgary and have been to the full moon party!. I normally stay in Lamai Samui. When you go to Samui if you like beach bungalows pop into the Sea Breeze bungalow and say Hi to the owner Piya and his Sister Honey. If you don't mind saying hi to them from "Bill from Canada". They will know who that is and they are really good Thai people who have lived on the island all of their life. Safe travels
Great video, brings back memories! Stayed at Seetanu in 2019, beautiful place and beach! Pirate Bar, the closed place at the end of the video seems "destroyed", a storm perhaps. Used to be parties there and the beach was the dancefloor. Also used be a seating area on the rocks... LOVE the whole beach!
I went to this beach in March, because of this video. 2nd best beach on the Island IMO (Behind Thong Nai Pan Yai). We stayed at another but kept scootering over there each day. Even in 2024 in peak season, right behind all the trendy vegan places and coffee shops, it was so relaxing and hardly busy.
Hi STL May I reccommend our favorite place on Koh Phangan. North West part of Island, Haad Salad, beautiful beach all budgets of acommodation. Great snorkeling just around the north point of the bay. Cheers
I also miss my home (Vancouver) at times but for sure feel fortunate to be here (if not, I'd be heading for the Northshore mtns & strapping on a snowboard, woohoo :)
Not sure if Pirate's Bar reopened or not. It's a full on nude beach past the rocks mind you. Btw, seems EVERYONE is moving to Koh Phangan currently.... rooms and deals are getting harder to find. Will be doing an update soon.
You have to go back to seetanu bungalows, ( Belgian bar) quality beers and the food is outstanding. Plus the owner behind the bar is a top guy , Quinton
Must be nice to be there right now, it would be too crazy during Full Moon party time but who knows when that will return? It's nice to see a few tourists enjoying things.

There are some amazing deals for sure. But just for the record, before the current global event, Ben's & the other beachfront place I stayed at on Koh Tao were both going from around $30 last high season, less in low season.
