Fantastic Drill, it actually helps one to pivot on the supporting leg, something people tend to forget, until something goes wrong and the knee becomes damaged. Thank you for sharing.
The fact that Wallace got to his level is a testimony of the mans will power. Anyone else after a knee injury wouldn't have dreamed of doing anything else physical for feat of rein jurying the knee. I'd love to hear him talk about this someday.
I think Wallace's kicking style was developed out of necessity, as he damaged his right knee early in his career when he was in Judo training. That forced him to wear a knee brace on his right leg and he had to kick using only his left leg.
Wallace has always reminded me of a Savate guy more than a karate guy. Did he come up with these kicking concepts on his own? Back in his day few Asians were kicking like this, forget about Americans. Does anyone know of any interview where he goes into detail about how and where he developed this stuff?
woww great video 👏 i study practice muay thai for 4 years ever since watching this video i relize karate, taekwondo, savate, kung fu kicks have much faster snap whipping kick compare to muay thai we follow all the way through but it little slower to karate
I wonder about that right knee because even though he's not kicking with it, he still has to stand on it and maneuver on it. How does he pull that off without being in pain?
I know its a lot of you guys that like Chuck Norris. But i still think that if Bruce Lee would've had Bill in one of his movies, it would've sold more than it would if Chuck was there.
I have grenadine respect fr Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris, but really think that Bruce never wanted anyone to appear on screen who would upstage him in any way. In Enter TGE Dragon he fought Sammo Hung in the opening scene, and Sammo, a phenomenal artist himself, just looked fat and slow. Even Norris did by comparison. Had Wallace appeared With Bruce, he would have upstaged him with his technique and kicking speed. No way was Bruce gonna chance that. He was upset when Jim Elly blocked his backfire
Most people are struggling to keep balance every time the lift they leg for a single kick. :) BW could stand that on one leg as easily and as long as most people can stand on 2 feet and through jabs. :) Probably why he might be considered the "best kicker" in MA history...maybe after Bruce Lee.
awesome ability to keep his knee up kicking and maintain good posture, balance, and wow what pop he has with that roundhouse!!
I was fortunate enough to have a Taekwondo seminar taken by this legend yesterday, twas awesome

Great man and teacher.

@yardkyle A lot of people today maynot know who he is, or popular he is. I would loved to see him in a modern movie, kicking butt.
bill is the man
Again, I believe he wore a brace on his right knee that helped him support his weight when kicking with his left leg.
im a kung fu man...regardless of style i think this a great way of training your lead leg for speed and form!
Nobody can kick like superfoot

the title should read. "Kick" Drills, as poor old bill could only use his left leg to kick.

well he was never in MMA, but he was a legendary kickboxer
supa foot!
and end up undefeated..LOL
His pieces of advice are useless if you cannot split your legs for 100%. Learn some technique for low kicks instead
