    En el video Wallace asume que el adversario siempre defiende con la mano adelantada y desde la misma distancia. Muchos de los métodos para evitar un golpe es por medio de la movilidad y el juego de pies. Una de la respuestas ante un golpe es contra golpear. Como un drill para provocar una reacción esta muy bien .

    I see a way to defend both, however speed is and advantage, I've admired his Technic for years, now that I've seen him teaching it, he seem to make it fun to learn. Hits below the waist can be block with a knee, above the knee all can be blocked with just one hand if your quick enough, that leaves the other hand open to attack with. However, most people are right hand and right footed. that means they are used to defending with their left hand, open hand Technic, using their wrist to block. In other words, a hit from the left would be unexpected to most people.

    You are in range of both of his hands. How did you get there? And there is an assumption that he will not be countering immediately and moving forward.

    • @richardharris8399
      @richardharris8399 6 лет назад +2

      Not specifically in response to what Testa said, but I think the REAL point of the video was training your opponent to do what you want them to do. That's a proactive philosophy not a reactive one. It renders your opponent's possible counter moves academic because you've re-trained him to do what you want him to do. I know it seems simple to say that "I'd do this" or "I'd do that" but the point is that the predator dictates what the prey will do. Speeding the action up to actual speed only increases the effectiveness of the technique. It's like in football when a receiver runs a route; he knows where he's going but the defender can only react to his route. The only real answer is to study the receiver's film so you can anticipate his next move, but in a fight with a stranger that wouldn't be a likely option. You're watching a genius at work.

    • @georgekondylis6723
      @georgekondylis6723 5 лет назад +1

      It’s not a perfect system. And wouldn’t work for most people due to the fact that chamber must be really high and tight. I teach this to my students from a longer distance. Just outside jab range. However , practicing close is valuable. I have caught people from shoulder bump range with this kick and hurt them. Mr. Wallace’s concepts certainly served him well during his era.

  • @nihonbunka
    @nihonbunka 5 лет назад

    Who was first, Bruce Lee or Bill Wallace? It seems clear that Bill originated this technique, due to the necessity of having an injured right leg. Did Bruce Lee invent this stance independently (except swapping to strong leg front) or did he see Wallace beat Karateka and emulated Bill? No. This is from 1967 where Bruce is using his side stance.
    ruclips.net/video/_5KBnA-2NBg/видео.html
    So *if anything* I guess Bill may conceivably have emulated Bruce but it could easily have been independent.

    • @raymondfrye5017

      Do you want to know why he can still move? Because he quit kickboxing early when he realized the body takes a great deal of punishment from real physical contact. He said so himself:" the human body is not made to continually recieve punishment." That is also why he made films and turned into Great Master Yoda.He could no longer compete because of his broken knee on his opposite kicking leg.
      Regards

    C'mon Bill. Everyone knows boxers get hit all the time...no one who's ever put on gloves and entered the ring was so great they NEVER got hit. That makes no sense at all. Boxers bob and weave, slipping punches while moving out of reach or to get inside an opponent' reach to go to work. They don't try to block all punches like in karate. Please don't misrepresent boxing using karate techniques.
