I love that he has his baby strapped in front without missing a beat
" The more your practise doing something wrong, the better you get at doing something wrong." This is a brilliant statement.
Omg! You are the GOD of hips ! Thanks 🙏 soooo much! You make soooooo much sense - at 52 I’ve been written off as too old to expect no pain - I’m going to watch alllll your videos!!!!
Lol, love the baby, the garage, the Jenga, all while droppin' the knowledge. Matt, you're a good human.
👍🏽 alone just for him to be holding his baby while making this video 😂
4:11 sweet lord! I wasn't expecting this. Can't stop laughing.
Btw. great work, loading hamstring during pulls is a must.
I don’t do any weightlifting but a lot of yoga and dance and it frustrates me soooo much that I can’t hinge at my hips properly. My axis of somewhere in my lumbar spine, I know it’s bad.
I haven’t been able to see a professional about it but this video motivates me to create a plan to overcome this.
I have really long legs so it will be amazing to open up that flexibility for dance.
Spot on demo! New graphics and introduction are smooth.
OMG. I'm amazed. I tilted my pelvis forward and was able to hinge so much lower!! Thank you!
Wonderful!
Matt, can you also cover nerve mobilization?
Thanks!
If hip flexors are weak, would this also affect hip hinge as it requires hip flexion?
I’m confused and I don’t know where to start. Just went to an orthopedic doctor and he said eventually I will need a new hip. I’ve been active all my life, been a 30 miler runner. I do boot camp, spinning and road ride cycling outside. I just discovered upright.....I need hip help!
I am in the same boat!! Have you found any relief yet?
We love upright health
Ha ha! I was trying out the 4.11. Not for those with neck problems. ( I cracked my neck trying it, now the right frozen shoulder loosened up a lot! Always knew it was the supraspinatus & 20 chiro visits did zero for hip & shoulder. )
Easier & more fun- got into a cobra position on my elbows and scoot my knees up to my chest & out again sliding on a towel. Repeat in place or keep moving forward- 2 towels needed. Idea for the next party game!
Any cues on what to do when someone has a habit of twisting at the hips due to muscular imbalances ?
Excellent exercise at 7:11!
My hip hurts when I try to raise my knee.
Ahoy there, and thank you so much for your videoes.
My daughter 38 years old was resently diagnoced with trochanteric bursitis just from a ct scan?
Sorry about my english, it's not my common language. Well, she has pain in this area and she was told to rest, rest and rest. Eating Voltarol (pain killer) and not walk or do any exercise at all. Can you se a bursitis on ct scan?
I wanted to belive that a blood test would tell?
Need your help here in Northern Norway.
Matt, I am told I need a hip replacement because I have arthritis but fighting it.
If you have APT, does that prevent you from hinging?
maybe talk more about best form extending out of hip hinge?
I don’t feel tightness in my hamstrings, but all in my calves. I believe I no longer have an anterior tilt.
Excellent info
Hi! I’d love to come to Spain but I have never seen a such high price on any 5-day retreat here in Europe, unless its at a 4 star golf club. I just cant bring myself to pay 20 000 SEK including flights for 5 days..
We'd love to have you, even if it isn't a 4 star golf club (and thank god it isn't).
We believe this actually works out to quite a good deal for our European followers. It's much cheaper and easier than flying to California, booking hotels, and then paying sessions on top of that. We have European clients who have done this, so we know it can be a bit tough.
This retreat setting also means you get much more direct time with us in a focused environment. You're getting Josh, Creepy Vincent, Trevor, and Matt for 5 straight days - and we're flying to YOU!
😉
Awww! Baby in the carry!!!
Aye I need help so I have a big fat hump neck and u try to hide it out to get rid of a hump neck
What happened to Mini Matt in the middle of the video? Practising the hip hinge? 😂
He was squatting. :-)
This is great, how could I train this if I have hip hinging movement issues only on one side ?
Depends. Do you walk on only one side? Didnt think so. Just do the hop hinge. Good for you. Might also check your foundation from the feet up. Posture, way you walk rigid or loose as a goose, attitude dude! Or holding on to old injuries physical or emotional? Er, hip hinge. Hop hinge works too. I just did it
Help. What if I don't have hip pain just behind the knee and low back pain and IT Band pain. They INSIST that my hips are hopelessly broken my abducted. Rom is shot on my rt leg can you summarize my issue? Please help. 💜💜
I can't do this too deep, too much belly fat, what ya' got for almost 300 pounders besides or along with losing weight?
should i still workout even tho theres a popping in my right hip?
I have no problem to hip hinge with bodyweight but i cant do rdl properly without hip pain
Can you help with bursitis?
If you have apt shouldn’t you avoid hamstring stretch
That's what an exercise physiologist told me a year ago too.
This is a really common myth. We'll cover it in another video!
That'd be great, because my hammies are definitely tight distally but really stretched and lax proximally, not sure how to go about that.
I've had bilateral acitabular impingement, and already had surgery to fix this issue, along with spinal detriments. I still have hip pain, lots of poping (almost as if my hips are popping in and out of place), and leading to sciatica, lower back pain, and groin pain. Any advice?
I was professional dance teacher for many years & I KNOW the pain you deal with. I'm not sure WHERE your impingement is, but I will share with you how I healed my sciatica pain forever.
first, there are no drugs that can effect or heal sciatic pain b/c it is caused by a blockage of spinal fluid that circulated up entire spine. like a river with a huge boulder that prevents the free flow od moving water.
2nd. find the area where the inflamed vertebrae is located. use small ice pac on exactly that spot. ice 30 minute, just that vertebrae. then slowly walk, if possible, or stand & deep breathe upright in this posture for 5 min on;y.....
hips over ankles, [not over the toes or arch of foot'
shoulders over hips
ears over shoulder
relax the nose!!!
repeat every 2 hours til bedtime. never never put heat on spine or take hot bath with any sciatica pain .
as you begin to get spinal fluid flowing, other muscles will relax & let go. if there is cramping in those big muscles, use heat on quads hamstrings calves. keep ankles loose by rotating range of motion & flex/relese to stretch calf muscles.
gosh I hope something I said can help lessen pain. our body can heal itself IF we let it.
I also recommend hands-on FELDENKRAIS functional integration therapy, it has been a god-send for my many injuries. good luck
@@yarazooom thank you!! I'm definently gonna try this tomorrow and see how it goes!!!
What about your hip is damaged by osteoarthiritis
Will it help those with osteoarthiritis in their hip or their hip femur head is damaged caused by no blood flow to the area
So basically just bow.
You are handsome dude
Looking in his eyes felt lik le my soul is being consumed
I can't do this exercise, I can't bend at all. What's wrong
no problem finding the place to hinge forward BUT how to get back up is a bi*ch. where does that movement originate from?
How does this guy manage 8.30 minutes on hip hinges without doing a signal hip hinge? Seriously time to clean up RUclips!!
“Signal,” no patience and rude...time for YOU to clean up
ARTHITIS HIPS STILL DO THESE😢😢😢
Love your baby on board. You have a lot of love.
Video starts at @2:30
This is not the real deal, sorry to say . Arthritis has no friends.
Bs. Get a hip replacement and fix it. Common sense tells u that theres a reason why 100's of thousand's get the surgery. RUclips has become a nest for people trying to make a buck somehow, someway.
Surgery carries many risks, and is no panacea. The reason so many get surgery isn’t “common sense,” it’s because of medical advice whether right or wrong. Many do see vast improvement from non-surgical methods. Learn a book.

late bloomer - we are told to get hip replacement surgery so often because it makes a lot of money💵for doctors and hospitals. after surgery we still end up needing: canes, walkers, pain-killers, physical therapy, psychiatrists, and upright health
