- This antique riveted copper tank with brass fittings was found in a hole in the ground inside of an old blacksmith shop. It was extremely hard to clean and polish. I started off with steel wool and brasso brass polish. I then scrubbed it down with soap and water. I used a special metal stripping wheel on an angle grinder to remove the majority of the patina. I used A variety of polishing pads with polishing bars to achieve a mirror shine.

Wow what a find. Man id love to find something like that.
Looks like a coal oil tank
Beautiful outcome
You won't find anything this well made nowadays that's magnificent craftsmanship..
Wonderful 👍😊
This the circle of the knight Templars which was made into a pizza cutter with no handle
Haha thats a mind numbing amount of work with the grinder. Reminds we of when i refinished some aluminum truck rims. I think your tank came out real nice, looks steampunk!
Tank got sacked for making rims on the back of the furnace did the copper manage to penetrate the armour ?
Beautiful outcome 🙂
Do you think it might have been part of a still, from back in the day?
Not sure what it was

And remember that "Hcl" and "Hcl based acid" are two different things
